=====Bimmiel - Fort Tuk'ata - Briefing Room=====

Bimmiel... hidden from the galaxy for several thousand years... discovered by a lowly Imperial surveyor after whom the planet is named... then lost again after the fall of the Emperor... and rediscovered by a deposed Onderonian Prince.  A desert world easily forgotten by it's former masters, Bimmiel is to be the seat of power for my people... Cayden thought, walking into the briefing room at Fort Tuk'ata.  The team sitting at the table stood and saluted him.  "As you were," he said, sitting at the head of the table.  The team all sat down afterwards, and he got started.  "EV-1, I have called this briefing because our scouts have-"

"We have scouts?" Lt. Col. Angie Tavers asked, surprised.

Cayden turned to Ashley and said "Yes... we have scouts... otherwise, our intelligence program would be really bad.  Anywho... they have discovered a heave amount of ships over an unknown world in the Allied Tion Sector.  We are going to investigate."

"Sir, is that wise?" Captain Lisa Nivix asked.

"Wise?  Probably not.  But, if they aren't Imperial or New Republic, they could be useful allies in the future," Cayden said, smiling.  "Anymore questions?"

No one spoke up.

"Suit up, and prepare to leave within the hour," he said, turning the display off.  "Dismissed."

======45 Minutes Later - Cayden's Quarters=====

Cayden reached into his trunk and grabbed his assault rifle.

"You know, Cayden... going heavily armed is never the best way to say 'Hi, I'm Colonel Cayden Tavers.  I represent a planet called Bimmiel, and we're looking for allies to help in our mission to safely explore the galaxy for any remnants of the Celestials and the Infinite Empire.'" the hallucination of a squirrel, Cayla, said, jumping up onto the bed.

"For all we know, Cayla... the place could be the base-of-operations for Admiral Torti.  If it is, well... I have the Onderonian Fleet on standby," he said, loading a magazine into his rifle.  "And if the fleet doesn't arrive, we can always get our butts out of there with the Star Drive.  Sure, we still haven't tested it, but we'll use it if we must."

"Good, cause if you die... I die... and well, as does our effort to put an end to tyrrany everywhere," Cayla said, taking a few steps toward Cayden.

"Nice save," Cayden said, smiling at her.  "At any rate, it might just be an NR base, considering how it's quite a ways away from Remnant space... then again, it could be Remnant.  Either way, if they attack, we'll be prepared to either escape, or if they have an Interdictor, defend ourselves."

"Alrighty... you obviously know I'm coming with you, so I'm not going to try and make you concede to letting me go.  I will, however, be trying to get you to work with Captain Nivix on getting that Star Drive fully operational... and maybe try and correct the instability issues with the reactor," Cayla said, jumping onto Cayden's right shoulder.  "I'll be at your side the whole time."

"Correction: you'll be on my side the whole time," he said, slinging the rifle over his left shoulder.  He walked over and grabbed his trench coat.  "I'll put it on after we board the ship," Cayden said, smiling at Cayla.  "Wouldn't want you to be all weirded out with a coat going through you."

He exited his room and saw Ashley standing outside, waiting for him.

"Ashley!  What a pleasant surprise!" he said, smiling.

Ashley walked forward and gave him a hug.  "I wish I was going with you, Cayden," she said, burying her face into his chest.

"I know Ashley... but you know someone has to hold the fort down," Cayden said, holding her tight.  "We shouldn't be gone for more than four days.  If we are, I'll contact you and let you know personally."

She looked up at him and nodded.  "Alright... Just, promise me you'll be safe, alright" she asked, hugging him tight.

Cayden looked into her eyes and said "I promise."  He kissed her lightly on the lips, then let go.  "I'll let you know as soon as we arrive."

"Alright," she said, letting go.

Cayden kissed her again, then started walking down the hallway.

He rounded the corner, and Cayla said "You know I'll make sure you call her."

"I know you will, Cayla... and thanks..." he said, smiling at the squirrel.

"What for?" she asked, confused.

"For starters... helping me get the generator back online after it malfunctioned over Esfandia.  Then there was that time Ashley was turned into a squirrel on Rhen Var... still don't know how, either... and let's not forget the time that we were stranded on-" Cayden said before being interrupted.

"Alright, alright... I get your point.  I helped out a lot.  You're welcome, by the way... I just... wish everyone else could see me... so that not only would you not be the only one to be able to see me, but so that no one will think you're crazy," Cayla said, laying down on his shoulder.

"Yeah... it would be nice for Skaara to take me seriously once in a while..." he said, grinning.  "But, until I can find a device to do that, I'll just have to settle for crazy."

Cayden walked onto the landing pad and smiled when he saw EV-1 standing at the foot of the Etere Videum.  The sun gleamed off the Gozanti Cruiser's freshly polished hull, radiating across the desert like a beacon in the fog.

He saw Angie nod as she stood with the rest of her team as rings surrounded them.  A bright light came from the rings, and a second later, they were gone.

Cayden walked up to the Gozanti and stood where Angie was standing moments before.  The rings surrounded him, and transported him to the ship above in a flash of light.  Another flash, and he saw that he was onboard the ship.  The rings moved back into the floor, and he stepped out onto the deck plating, handing his rifle to the temporary quartermaster, his HK-droid Shaka.

"Make sure that it stays in one piece, Shaka... I want it to function properly in case things go bad," Cayden said, letting go of the strap.  He saw the droid nod, and he exited the cargo hold.  He walked down the main corridor and entered the bridge.

Skaara walked up to him, saluted, and said "We're ready to go on your command, sir."

Cayden smiled, and stood there for a second.

"Sir?" Skaara asked, disturbed.

"Oh... right... take us out, Major," he said, suppressing a laugh.

Skaara raised an eyebrow at him and said "Yes sir."

Cayden sat down in his chair as Skaara took the ship off the landing platform.

"We are exiting Bimmiel's atmosphere now, sir.  Imputting coordinates for S3X-173," Skaara said, pressing some keys on the nav-computer.

The ship flew away for the planet for a few seconds before Skaara pulled the hyperspace lever, saying "Entering hyperspace now."

The ship accelerated uncontrollably, pulling itself out of real-space and into hyperspace.

=====15 Hours Later - Etere Videum=====

Cayla walked to the middle of Cayden's quarters and said "We're almost there, Cayden."

Cayden walked out of the refresher and said "I should hope we're almost there... I just spend half an hour in the refresher, and the past 14 and a half hours working on the Star Drive."

"Cayden, think about it this way: you won't ever have to spend 15 hours in hyperspace again," Cayla said, turning away from Caydel as he walked into the main room area.

Cayden pulled on his jumpsuit, then started pulling on one of his boots.  "True... at least there's that.  Now, hopefully, we'll spend 3.8 seconds going from point A to point B," he said, tying his boot laces up.  He pulled the other one on and tied the laces.  Caydeb walked over to his coat rack, grabbed one of his trench coats, and pulled it on.

"So... ready to see what mysteries await us on the other side... sir?" Cayla said, climbing up the coat rack and jumping onto his right shoulder.

"Yes... let us see what awaits us," he said, opening the door.

Cayden walked down the corridor and  climbed down the ladder that led to Deck 1, then walked down the corridor to the bridge.  He walked on board, sat down in his chair, and asked "Status report, Major Skaara?"

"ETA: 5 minutes," Skaara said, looking at Cayden.  "I've already ordered the crew to battlestations."

"Excellent.  You may take us out when ready, Major," Cayden said, smiling.

"Yes sir," the Major replied, grabbing the hyperspace lever.

The ship shot out of hyperspace and re-entered real-space, it's course set on a teal marble of a planet orbited by a small fleet of various ships.

"Well, well... that's a nice planet... lots of water... can obviously sustain life... a healthy fleet in orbit... well, sir... there is no way the Imperial Remnant or Admiral Torti is here, so that just leaves either the New Republic or an independent planet," Skaara said, turning towards Cayden.

"Very well... open a channel, Sergeant Heckmann.  I want them to know we mean them no harm," he said, standing up.

"Yes sir," Sergeant Dela Heckmann said, pressing a few keys on her console.

"Hello?  This is Colonel Cayden Tavers onboard the Onderon Protector ship Etere Videum.  We are an exploration vessel, not a military ship.  We mean you no harm.  Please respond," Cayden said into his radio.

Hans Heathrow, member of the House of Lords for Lianna, sat in his ministry office, quietly checking the stock market and keeping an eye on the data screen next to it, which read arrivals and other notifications about Lianna airspace. The screen on the left suddenly emitted a sound and Heathrow looked over at the screen, seeing ‘Zhar Bacredi, RAF Daring’ at the bottom of the list. Right above it was ‘Cayden Tavers—Onderonian Government, HMIS Etre Veridium’, however Hans did not realize that and was already out the door, swinging his suit jacket on, and his overcoat after that. He walked out the door into the bullpen of the business ministry, walked over to his assistant and informed her that he was leaving and to send a speeder.

Heathrow walked out of the bullpen and was greeted by a row of turbolift, he pressed down and was greeted by a turbolift on the left side. He got in, hit the motorcade level, and was there within ten seconds. His motorcade—something that came with a minister position—was hovering right next to the elevator. Heathrow got into the middle speeder, which was a limousine version, and the driver rolled down the divider and asked where Heathrow wanted to go.

“The second government landing pad, please,” Heathrow leaned back in his chair and shut his eyes for a second. The next moment they were there, Heathrow, as it turned out, had fallen asleep.

“Here we go, sir,” one of the guards said as they got out of the speeder and opened the door. As Heathrow got out of the speeder, he looked around at the huge ceiling he was under. The government landing pads were state of the art, and they were in a huge 1 million square foot tower that had over 30 landing pads all lined up on the side of the building. Heathrow walked through the door, as it was already open, and out onto the landing pad. The landing pad hosted two ships, a Gozanti-Class Cruiser that had Lianna City police officers about to search the vessel and a Lambda-Class Shuttle that Zhar Bacredi was standing outside.

“What the hell is going on over there?” Bacredi asked, looking over at the Gozanti. “Is that routine?”

“Not quite,” Heathrow said, motioning for his two guards to follow him. Bacredi followed as well as they all moved over to the Gozanti. Two officers approached the group. “What is going on here?” Heathrow smugly asked.

“Step back, sir,” one of the officers said.

“What is going on here?” Heathrow didn’t move an inch.

“This ship is locked down by orders from the Minister of Transportation that were cosigned by the Chancellor, sir,” the guard said, hand on his holster. “You do not need to know why.”

“I am the Minister for Business and Trade, and this here is the former Ambassador to the Vast Empire—please, we would just like to know what is going on here?”

“Vast Empire, you say?” the guard that had not spoken the entire time finally looked up and spoke. “Do you know one ‘Cayden Tavers’? I believe he’s in the military, naval branch.”

“Actually, yeah, what the hell, I do!” Bacredi said, “is he on this ship?”

“Follow me,” one of the guards said, Bacredi followed the guard as they walked up the landing ramp and into the ship. As they got into the ship, ten guards were standing in the first room, all with rifles slung over their shoulders. They proceeded through multiple rooms and up an elevator, this time flanked by a member of the transportation ministry, and finally arrived in the bridge. “Cayden Tavers, do you know this man?” The guard asked to the supposed captain of the ship. The rest of the crew was scrunched into the bridge.

“Bacredi!” the man said, jumping to his feet. He was met by a rifle from across the room. “Yes, he is the Training Executive Officer of the naval academy.”

“Is this true?” the guard asked. Bacredi nodded. “Well, that clears that up, you still need to fill out paperwork and your ship is grounded until further inspection.” The guard finished, and they all exited the bridge.

“Where are we supposed to stay, then?”

“You’ll find a place,” the ministry official said, exiting down the elevator. This left Bacredi alone in a room full of Onderonian military personnel.

“You guys need a place to stay?” Bacredi asked.

“That honestly would be nice,” Tavers said. “We need to be able to walk around the city.”

“Here, I’ll get you guys set up with a room at my place, we’ll be taking a shuttle ride, however, to Sheffield Island. It’s only about forty minutes away.” Bacredi walked out of the room, followed by almost all of the personnel except a select person that opted to watch the ship. They all entered Bacredi’s speeder, and two other speeders he had summoned, and one entered Hans Heathrow’s first speeder. They were about to take the intra-planet highway, and they soon sped onto the closed highway due to ministerial traffic. As soon as they entered the ground-level highway, they slowed down to a complete stop on the boarding ramp, were taken up by large clamps that came down from the ceiling, and sped off. This helped save energy and also allowed the government to control the speed the speeders were going at.

“How much longer…?” Tavers asked after they had been in the speeder for forty minutes. Bacredi clicked a button on the dash and the speeder sped off of a ramp, being de-clamped. The speeder was given manual control a second later. Bacredi, who had always been a bad driver, jerked the speeder to do a 180, and then moved onto the main dirt road. Bacredi soon enough paid for a ferry, and the ferry took five minutes to cross the channel and onto Sheffield Island. Though no longer Bacredi’s home, the island still housed the Bacredi Family Compound, where he would be staying. They pulled up to the compound, shortly followed by the rest of the group. Bacredi slammed his door as he got out and stretched.

“Okay, go in there and they will assign you a room, I’ve sent a message ahead. Hans, wanna grab a drink?”

“I’m afraid not, I have to go to a sub-committee meeting for the Lords tomorrow—so do you.”
