Well, why are we so mean to new recruits that post on old topics? We shouldn't lash out at them, because the first thing someone would do when they came onto the forums would be to read the code of conduct. So they see a topic and they post on it, so what? Why can't we just say something around the lines of "Hey, please don't do that again because you're not supposed to" instead of making the recruit feel like we have just lashed out at them for doing something they didn't necessarily know was wrong.

I agree that we could stand to be a little nicer about things sometimes, but most of us assume that the recruit has read this. If that's not the case, then perhaps our respective training officers should rectify that oversight.

In fact I think a lot of us could stand to read these again.

To be honest, it is an easy mistake to make if the topic is on a rather in active comnet (ie near the top 25% of the first page).

If that happens... is it really that bad?

Why not post a copy of the sucker to every division's main communications or academy comnet? One more pinned topic won't kill us and it could cut down on such instances.
