“Well, get out of here, you have 24 hours leave, enjoy it because it’ll be the last break you have until after you graduate!”

His commander said after they had finished training for the day.
He ran to his quarters and took off his flightsuit and grabbed a towel and went into the refresher. While he was in the shower he planned out what he’d do for the next 24 hours. Throwing on his civvies, he headed to his first stop, the stations cantina. He ordered a Correllian Ale and took his drink and walked over to Burin, a guy he knew.

“Hey, want to play some sabacc?”

“Sure, I deal.” Burin said pulling out his deck.

They both put 50 credits into the main pot and the sabacc pot. Expertly he dealt the first hand, Jasen checked his cards, he had a total of 12. He took another card and got another 11. “Pure Sabacc!” Jasen announced smiling.  He collected his winnings and put another 50 into each pot. Jasen dealt this hand and ended up with The Star and an Ace, for a total of -2. He took another card and ended up with an idiot. Jasen bluffed and put 100 credits in the main pot, which was too rich for Burin so he folded. Again, he collected his winnings, but Burin said he had to go. Jasen finished his drink and decided to go through one of the flight simulations that he had been having trouble with, the Battle of Endor simulation. He arrived in the reception area for the private simulation pods.

“Is there a pod open?” he asked the receptionist.

“Yes there is, right this way.”

She showed him to the pod and he thanked her. Expertly he got into the pod and set it to that particular simulation. Once the simulation was started, he went through the checklist.

“Shields check, weapon systems online, life support system functioning,” he continued on for a few minutes.

Once he finished checking all the systems, he flipped the switch and launched himself into space. He sped up head on towards 2 X-wings. They could hear the whine of his TIE Interceptor as they entered his weapons envelope and banked hard in opposite directions.

“Come on you bastards, don’t make this easy!” Jasen yelled as he banked hard left and came up behind the first X-Wing. Grinning psychotically he fired his quad linked cannons, and missed. “Damn!” he swore as he adjusted the settings, tilting the cannons slightly.

“Come and get some then!” he called out as he noticed the other X-wing had come up behind him. Immediately he dropped the nose of his fighter and lowered the throttle going under and ending up behind the X-wing who had just launched a proton torpedo, which missed Jasen and hit the other X-wing right in the center of the S-Foils.

“Ha! One down and one to go,” Jasen said as the X-wing exploded. He turned his attention to the remaining X-wing, as it came around and headed straight towards him.
