As I've told some of you, this story is going to take a little bit to get put together, I've been putting quite a bit of time into it, it should make a rather important chapter of our existence, so until I can get it out, I'll be posting bios, previews and such for the project currently code named "Abraxas".

The Paladin

I’m not sure if I’m still entirely sane, I saw a monster. In all the worlds I’ve traveled, in all the lands I’ve seen and creatures I’ve encountered I have never seen anything it’s match, not even the krayt dragon could hold a flame to this. . .this demon.

It walked like a man, and talked like a man, but it was no man. Fierce blue eyes seemed to burn out of it’s skull, a brown mane tied loosely behind him. He wore the grin of a predator about to make it’s kill; the eyes and grin will always be engraved into my memory. The images of it tearing my friends, family and comrades apart.

His blood soaked image, the first time I saw him, haunts my dreams. He tore through my brother and father like they were so much rubbish in his way, paying no mind to the wounds inflicted on him, he moved fiercely, like an animal, no shoes, no shirt, his scarred torso deformed compared to a normal man. Long hair fell about his shoulders, matted with blood and dirt. Saliva dripped from his mouth. He laughed and grinned, and howled like an animal, truly more beast than man.

The other times I’ve run into him have cost me an eye, a larynx, four fingers and a leg. I know my mind, too, must be gone; I don’t need it where I’m going anyway.Sanity has no place in that port of demons. I’ve been there before. The Locker, the only port on the desolate surface of Osk 91, better known as Eyesore, an unforgiving and truly hellish planet that mirrors perfectly the souls of those who populate it. Desolate and unforgiving.

It’s his haven. His kingdom; his home. A den of pirates, thieves and hookers and gangs. Ruled over by the beast king himself.

Few people leave untainted b y the filth of that city. Few of the innocent who accidentally wander into that villains city ever return.

I will cleanse that place. I will bring down the suffering that beast has brought so many countless others upon his head. I know that I may not return; but as long as such a blight upon the galaxy exists I cannot rest.

-Last Know Message of the “Paladin” Jakith B’Luk.

Jakith “The Paladin” B’Luk

Jakith B’Luk was born into the aristocracy of a little known world in the colonies. The planet produced mostly food and textiles, mostly ignored by the rest of the galaxy; however, like many backwards worlds, it had an aristocracy that took itself very seriously. The planet is only of interest in that it’s inhabitants almost entirely were devoted to an obscure and complicated monotheistic cult. This religion was deeply ingrained in the politics and culture of the planet and is commonly thought of as one of the main reasons for it’s isolation.

Jakith B’Luk was, of course, part of this from an early age, being the second son to his father, the high priest and prefectural governor. From an early age he was indoctrinated into the church and from an early age he was often the target of the political intrigue of the world.

Like any son of aristocracy he was trained to succeed his father should the heir fall. Standard teaching for the sons of nobility included ancient languages, history, religious dogma and, of course, war. The planet had held some distinction during the clone wars for the clever strategists it put out, however after the conclusion of the clone wars the infighting between them and their lack of comparably wealth to the galaxy at large had left the world once again largely forgotten.

The Luk family, however, was not known for their prowess in war, they were better known as devout clergymen and excellent governors. Jakith seemed, when he was young, to be following those footsteps. He joined the clergy as soon as he could, around the standard age of nineteen, being delayed two years for perceived impurities. As a priest he was devout and zealous in the execution of his deities will. He lead many a witch-hunt in the small town he was first assigned to, quickly being ordained as an aide to a regional bishop.
Within a year however, as he was returning home for a ceremony of union between his older brother, an officer in the worlds military, and the daughter of another powerful noble; fortune twisted on him.  There was an escape attempt from the Citadel of Purification, where the Inquisitors and Paladins took heretics and blasphemers to cleanse their souls for the afterlife. The Citadel was not far from the estate of the Luk family.

In the depth of the night one of the possessed tore through the estate, at first it moved quietly, however guards soon found the blood trails left from it’s bleeding body and sounded an alarm. In that night the Luk family estate burned to the ground and all but Jakith were consumed by the flames or the ravages of the heretic.

After wards Jakith used what influence he had to get adopted into the Paladins where he relentlessly destroyed evil everywhere he saw it. His God’s word was to be carried to the letter and he did, mercilessly and some would say with pleasure. In this regard he quickly found himself leading whole war parties and small crusades on nearby worlds, however he has always hunted what he calls “The Demon” relentlessly. To chronicle his exploits individually would take several volumes, all that is truly important is that he hates all non-humans, sinners and the demonic with every part of his being.

It feels like centuries since I saw her. Feels like my life has begun and ended again and again and again in the twenty years since I saw her face. Indeed, perhaps my life has began and ended in that time. I have done many things, some I am not proud of. Last I saw her she was married and with child, I pretended I was happy for her, but later I cried until I had no tears left that my love was dead.

I left home because of the wanderlust corrupting my heart, I wanted to find my own way, make my own path, find fortune and glory.

It seems like only yesterday I apprenticed myself to a carpenter, then a bricklayer, farmer, I was a pilot, for a time, a crewer, a factory worker, a driver, a mechanic and many other things. I’ve been a mechanic longer than anything, there’s good work on Eyesore for people that know their way around a wrench. It’s the most vile and dirty city I’ve ever seen, but it’s easy to lose a person in it, and nobody asks very many questions. I find it an agreeable enough place; if a bit rough.

The self proclaimed King keeps the place moving, constantly in flux; but he also spends little time here. His lieutenant runs the city more than he does, she’s the one who handles the running, maintaining and improving of the city, her and the captains. The so called king keeps thing moving though. He is the energy that drives the young fools and the city; The Company looming tall over all, it’s ships constantly orbiting, landing, taking off, jumping, returning and everything in between. Even my old bones can feel the energy sometimes.

I, however, have bled all that blood away, for years now are just waiting to die, a tired old mechanic who lived too strongly in his day. I can only hope to die the glorious death my ancestors wish for me. I come from that long line of warriors for whom there is little else but battle; our name now long lost, only the stories of our deeds remain, and if the name ever returned, perhaps the galaxy would tremble in fear of our passing.

The Pirate King has left, and the city fallen into chaos as the captains try to take control; it is a sad day when we await so expectedly his return. That such a madman could ever lead is a true testament to the insanity of our galaxy and our lives.

Sometimes I wonder if this all just a dream or a nightmare. Sometimes it’s hard to tell. Is it a wonderful dream or is it a hellish nightmare? I didn’t fully expect to ever find myself in a place like this. I can’t even remember my name all the time, but this place is a wonderful bouquet of all that is good about the Galaxy. Wine, women and a plethora of conscious altering drugs. I can find everything I want under the blanket of this wondrous city. No night or day. The underground city hid it’s gallivanting children from the cruel galaxy beyond. The unrelenting and harsh galaxy, cold and heartless; but within this secret city joy is cheaply bought. My own story is much less interesting than that of this city, I was a nobleman’s son once, and a soldier; all in other lives long lost. Now I travel the galaxy, or I did, but I have been here for a long time. I find myself unwilling to leave.

Above everything else sits the immortal Pirate King. He sits like a beacon upon his throne of hedonism. He can be found wherever a good time is had by anyone. On the Shadow port of The Locker he was truly king. I envy him that. For even in my bordello he is welcomed like a king.

However, the king is gone, his absence all too noticeable. The air of The Locker darkened, it seemed, the moment he disappeared, the gallivanting children fell into distress, their mood and mind driven to delirium, it seemed.  Then the invaders came. None know where from they came. Great armored men in white and silver, wielding large hammers and explosive firearms. We could not fight them, we are not an army, just the harmless refuse of a cruel galaxy, seeking shelter for our pleasures. We may have taken a few unclaimed treasures now and then, from those that could spare their loss, evil men perhaps, but certainly not dangerous, criminals seeking only the freedom offered by this last refuge.

We await now, hidden in the secreted corridors and catacombs of this world, we await the return of the Pirate King and his fleet, for we have no other hope, the council of captains have abandoned us, we have nowhere else to lay our hope.

I can do naught but hope to see you again, my beloved sister, as the noose closes around us I can merely hold my head high and my blasters at the ready, and hope in time my city is rebuilt.
