Can we abolish this? I mean it started off as a good idea but now I just fill it in with anything and I know most of the veterans do as well because we all doubt anyone actually reads the reasons. It's just an extra thing to fill in for no apparent reason.

Meh. I agree that it's pointless, but I've found it stops me from accidentally clicking submit. So...it does have a purpose, if an unintended one.

Most, if not all times, i go:

Submit, gah, stupid reasons, fills in "bah" or "blah", finally...

i can't even remember why it was implemented anymore. no offense Kad, or Tal, i don't think you guys have the time to read all the reasons anymore, if you ever do. and for the rest of us, we can't see them anyhow.

My guess would be that the "Reason for Edit" box was added so that moderators editing someone's post could note why they took such action.
