Lesson 1: First Aid
--------------------------------------
Tildie dove out of bed, a stuffed bantha going one direction as a stuffed tauntaun went another, a stuffed dewback aparently found a way to hide itself under her pillow as she rolled to the floor and grabbed a bundle of clothing. "I'm late, I'm late. Wonderful first impression this will be sandbug.." Tossing her slip onto the bed she wiggled into the cadets green uniform and tried to smooth it out. Sighing she realized even the smallest they had still hangs off her like a child wearing there parents clothes. Brushing her blonde hair from a tangled womprats nest she primed as fast as she could then placed the three stuffed toys together on the bed and whispered to them, "wish me luck." Kissing eaches forehead she rushed out and down the hallway to the classroom.

The class had not started yet tho the instructor was allready there and waiting probably quiet annoyed at her tardyness. "I do hope there is a good reason for you being late cadet." Thinking swiftly she looked up at the human male instructor, and with the utmost look of sincerity she whispered, "yes Sir, I was pinned under a tauntaun, a dewback, and a bantha." This left him quiet speechless, only able to say simply, "find your seat". Clearing his throat he looked out at the classroom, the mix of races and of private Tildie sitting in the desk barely seeing over it. Moving to her, he placed a large pharmocology book on the chair and ordered her to sit on it for elevation. Heading back he sighed, "since your being the main pain to me today private I think my introduction will be asisted by you. I will ask questions and pose problems and you will try not to embarrass yourself. You are all here for the basics of first aid. Rather then give you a long ethics lecture we will jump right in."

The instructor walked to the blackboard and wrote 'PPP'. "Private. Explain if you would what this means." With a deep breath she responded, "The 3P's go with the ABC's on the basics of first aid. Would you like a overview of all of them as they go hand and hand?" The instructor hid a smile and nodded. She then cleared her throat sounding like a small mouse in doing so, "The 3P's "Preserve Life. Prevent the condition from worsening. Promote Recovery. The are the paramonts of first aid, in short they while self explanatory are rather complex. Our first goal is to preserve the life of the patient. This requires a evaluation of the issue at hand and then leads into the next P. Prevent the condition from worsening in anyway. By doing this it will lead into the next, to promote recovery so the patient will be able to return to health."

The instructor nodded and said, "Now the ABC's?". Tildie brushed a strand of hair out of her eyes and whispered, "Airway, Breathing and Circulation. Airway is to check the central airway of the patient. Mouth and nose, as well as check if the tongue is swollen and could block the airway. You need to also check for neck wounds that could hamper breathing. This is the time to examine for toxic gas or other caustics that could burn the patients lungs. If the patient is amphibious check his gils as well. Breathing, once the patients airways are clear make sure the breathing is constant and regular, should the need arize administer a breath mask and oxygen. However if he is a non human make sure he breathes oxygen as o2 has a habit of burning the lungs of certain non oxygen breathers. Next circulation. You need to check the neck and wrist to make sure there heartbeat is proper, as well as check the extermities for any cut off circulation."

"Good job", he said, "now what is this?" He held up a medpac. "Its a medpac Sir?" "Brilliant, now explain to the class everything inside one."

She hopped down and went to the front of the class and stood in a chair beside His desk and took the medpac and looked it over. Pulling out each object and setting them down she looked to the class. "This is a basic medpac, issues to all stormtroopers. It is unlikely to be the one we will be issued but since every stormtrooper has one on his belt we can make use of theres. Remember to allways use a troopers medpac on him rather then use your own to converse supplies. Now inside one are the following items...", she holds each up as she speaks, "a medisensors, synthflesh, bacta, kolto, spray-bandages, bacta patches, spray hypos, bone stabilizers, antiseptics, coagulants, and stimulants. Sadly to say if you do not know what these items are you should not be here. The only one not common is kolto. Kolto is best described as bacta version 2. It has some of the same effects but is used when the subject is allergic to bacta or should the bacta run out. I reccomend using the bacta first."

"Good job private, one more thing then you may leave early. I will name some injuries and I wish to know the basic treatments." "Yes Sir, name away.."

"Shock"

"Raise the patients feet above there head, keep them warm and evac as soon as possible."

"Compound Fracture"

"Have a trooper or orderly hold down the patient and push the bone back into place. Sadly do not give a painkiller until after do to it could cause muscular tension. Once done tie a splint and transport to a evac hospital."

"Clogged Airway"

"Well brush your fingers into the mouth to check the tongue and dislodge any obstructions. However should there be a severe neck wound and no air is getting in a Tracheotomy is in order. Steriling the neck and take your vibro scalpel, or any blade and pierce below the trachea and pull back the tissue, then insert a hollow tube so air can directly enter, once done pack with gause."

"Laceration and bleeding"

"First degree burns"

"Relatively minor, clean the wounds with water and add a coolant. If there is pain administer a minor painkiller, keep the wound exposed to air to heal better."

The instructor nodded to Private Tildie and told her, "good job, dismissed. The rest of you, we will review the basics."

Passed. Good job of not only showing the required "knowledge" but also managing to tie in your character's personality/traits/etc.  More than adequate length as well for a first specialty.  Feel free to carry on with the next story if you so desire.

Lesson 2: Bacta Therapy

Tildie sighed looking into the mirror of her quarters and loathed seeing what she saw. Her skin should be covered by her traditional outfit rather then be seen by anyone who walked by. It bothered her to be exposed but sadly there was lil that could be done. Thankfuly she could easily be covered in the stormtrooper armour. Walking over to her stuffed animals she made a face and held her arms out and twirled once.

"Do this outfit make me look like a harlot?", she stood there the dress uniform hanging off her small form as she sighed and patted each stuffed animal before she hurried off to the next class.

Cadet Tildie Saomes hurried along the corridor running toward the class and right into a large faleen. The four foot three inch girl went flying back landing on her rear with a whimper. Her small hand went back to rub her now sore rear as she looked up about to snap at the man when she stopped in mid thought. Her cheeks turns a soft blush as she attempted to speak but couldn't. The cadet with a chuckle lifted her with one hand and brushed her off. Despite knowing about faleens pheremone control she continued to blush before whispering.

"H..hello, my name is Cadet Tildie Saomes"

"Cadet Tavrion, at your pleasure."

With a smile she curtsied low then looked at her chronometer and eeeped, whispering, "Am late, I hope to see you again." Smiling she hurried off to class.

The instructor stood and looked over the class, grunting as he noted the certain individuals he had been annoyed by the day prior but smiled a bit seeing Cadet Tildie which he could use as a example student. She however was a bit busy staring with a blush into space.

"Ms Saomes, are you with us?"

She straightened up quickly and whispered as she rubbed her cheeks to remove the blush, "my apologies Sir, I am ready."

"Good, now I assume you are as educated about bacta as you seemed to be about first aid cadet?"

"I am pretty knowledgeable about bacta, kolto, and the operation of both forms of tanks, as well as application of patches and the adverse effects of bacta on certain individuals."

"Good"

A moment later Cadet Tavrion walked in, his tall broad shouldered form slipping into the room as Cadet Saomes slinked down in her chair with a blush. He handed a transfer datapad to the instructor who nodded and pointed to a spare chair. The faleen cadet sat down next to Cadet Saomes and looked to the instructor.

"I am ready to learn instructor", he said with a confident smirk.

The instructor grunted giving a look of disgust to the faleen and turned back to Cadet Saomes who was staring dreamily to the cadet. With a sigh he reached into his desk to withdraw a stim and injected it into Cadet Samones arm.

"For the record Cadet he was hitting you with pheremones" he turned to Cadet Tavrion, "and for the record there will be no manipulation of your peers." Walking to the desk he looks back to the class, "Cadet Tildie I want you to explain in general what bacta is."

Standing, her head still semi clouded from the pheremones and the counter stim Cadet Saomes looked to the class and took a deep breath.

"Bacta is a medicinal substance that consisted of gelatinous, translucent red alazhi and kavam bacterial particles that were mixed within a colorless, viscous fluid known as ambori. It has the consistency and stickyness of honey. Its smell is sickly sweet while its colouration is normaly blue. What it does basicly is increase the regerative properties of cells to regrow and remesh wounds. The substance was invented on Thyferra about 4000 years before the clone wars. Certain individuals have a allergy to the substance and they must use kolto, a substance which is similar but not as strong. Normaly the administration of either is submersion in a tube with air supply attached to the face, or threw bacta gause patches. Finaly a note, you will be tasting and smelling bacta for a week after submersion."

"Very good cadet, now if you would show how the tank is operated?"

Cadet Saomes walked to the bacta tank and hit three keys and looked at the readout, "In short most of it is automated, watch the vital signs monitor and check the scanner for abnormalities, hit emergency release if needed and otherwise let the med droids handle it."

Heading back to her chair Cadet Saomes saw the instructor nodding and rise, "good work cadet, your dismissed, for the rest of you review time."

Rising from the chair she bowed her head to the instructor and with a blush to Cadet Tavrion she rushed out and hurried to her quarters. Diving in she hugged each stuffed animal and giggled whispering, "I saw a cute boy in class guys."

Lesson 3: Triage
------------------------
Ungraceful sleeping was the most common form to Tildie, one leg hanging off the bed as the blanket barely covered her sprawled form as she quickly sat up and smacked the alarm a few seconds before it went off.

"Not going to be late today", she whispered to herself as she stood and stretched. Looking back she smiled to the stuffed animals on her bed, "wish me luck guys."

Primping quickly she smoothed down her loose fitting outfit and twirled once before slipping out of the room and down the hall. With a sigh she worried she might be late again when she peeked her head into the classroom and saw no one there. Looking around she saw a note on the blackboard.

"Meet at hanger back 2"

With a pout she turned and hurried off, rushing realizing she is now pretty late despite not being told. Running down the corridors she spotted the transport and realizing it was space capable transport her heart sank. She was never accustom to the riggers of space travel. Spotting the Instructor she tried to slip into line without being seen.

"This was my error Cadet, no need to hide. I forgot to announce this. Allright Cadets. We are doing a on the job training today, so we will be heading to a field hospital on a contested planet. You will be instructed when we arrive and we should only be gone a few hours. Now everyone get in."

The class filed into the transport quickly and Tildie sat hunkered in a chair as she gripped the armrests and felt her stomach in her mouth when they lifted off. It was a uneventful and swift trip before they landed, Cadet Tildies face a bit greener then it was before. The instructor then stood and looked over the rows of men layed out and announced.

"This is a on the job training, we are doing the art of Triage. We will have you all evaluate each person and decide the order in which they should go to the operating room. You are to prioritize and quickly evaluate."

The instructor split the class into units of ten and assigned each to a experienced medic who would make sure there were no inconsistencies. Tildies group had eight soldiers to evaluate, the members of the group basically deterred to her to handle the evaluations.

The first trooper laid on a stretched as Tildie knelt down and checked him over, large iodized gas burns over his chest as she whispered, "Blaster Bolts, Third Degree burn damage, high priority, also recommend sedation".

The next trooper, she inspected, "Scalp laceration. Minor priority, apply gauze and mild pain killer if pain persists."

She looked to the next trooper and run her small hands along his Femur, "Fractured Femur. Moderate Priority, recommend painkillers."

She turned pale looking to the next trooper as she checked him over, "Throat wound, bad one. Extreme priority, also keep a monitor on his breathing in case emergency procedures are needed."

Moving swiftly to the next, "First degree burns, minor priority, recommend pain killers if needed."

The next trooper she knelt beside she made a face as well, "Shrapnel in the belly, possibility of perforated bowels. Extreme priority, sedation recommended."

Inspecting the next trooper, "Concussion, moderate priority, recommend observation and stimulant to prevent unconsciousness."

Moving to the last man she gave him a quick check over, "Heat exhaustion, recommend salt tablets and hydration. Minor priority."

Exhausted she sat back down in the transport with a sigh and whimper, her limbs heavy as she looked around to the equaly exhausted troopers. The instructor cleared his throat then looked to the class.

"I am rather proud of you all, you have passed the first level of training. It only gets harder from here."

The transport trip home seemed shorter then the trip to the field hospital, her stomach didn't twist as bad re entering the atmosphere. It wasn't long before the transport landed and she slipped out to head back to her quarters.

Walking slowly down the corridor she rubbed her temples, a bit setback at seeing the actual injured troopers but realizing she will just have to toughen up. Entering her quarters she barely made it to the bed before collapsing.
