Jolinar looked around the briefing room.  The Vipers had just been informed of the investigation into Flyboy’s activities, and told they’ve been given a month and a half of downtime.  Jolinar decided she’d pay a visit to Corellia for a few days and check up on the ranch, then take off to Mandalore for the rest of the time.  Immediately on their return from their last mission, Flyboy had been arrested and taken off to a holding cell somewhere.  No one except those involved in the investigation were permitted to see him right now.  Jolinar supposed it was because they didn’t want anyone trying to break him out.  The room was silent, everyone involved in their own thoughts.  Despite the circumstances, some of the members were glad to have the unexpected leave time that didn’t come out of their earned leave.  Jolinar had to admit she was too, even though she had no doubt whatsoever that every member of Viper was going to be investigated closely, and probably monitored during their time off.

“Well, since we have so much down time, I’m going to pay a visit to some people I know on Corellia for a bit, then go see my people on Mandalore.  Been too long since I’ve been back there.  You’re all welcome to come with me if you want.  I’ve got a Firefly and a YT-1300.  Plenty of room for all of us.”  Jolinar said lightly, trying to relieve some of the tension.  “You’ll have to put up with a smart-mouthed HK.”  Jolinar grinned at the mention of Haran.  “I’m going to pack and get ready to go.  Comm me if you want to come along.  I’ll be leaving in a few hours.”

Jolinar passed a couple of people who had clearly just graduated from the academy.  They were being given an orientation tour, having been newly assigned to Viper.  They were being informed they had the same downtime as the rest of the squadron.  Jolinar waited until they were released to go their own way, and extended the invitation to join her and whoever else from the squadron decided to come along on her trip.  She gave them her comm frequency and left them to make travel arrangements.

Tinker rolled over in her bunk and rubbed her eyes sleepily. Tentatively, she poked open one eye too look at the chrono. Things had been difficult since they had learned of Flyboy's treachery. It felt worse to Cadie, being that the two of them had become friends in the short time they knew each other. Cadie had been drinking herself to sleep at night, just to avoid any dreams she needed to escape this reality at the moment.

The comm started to blink and make a noise, that made Tinker feel like a a sledghammer cracking her skull. With a groan Tink rolled, letting her legs hang over the side of the bunk. She glared at the comm wondering who would be trying to reach her at this god awful time in the morning. Then as she stood her eyes wondered over the chrono, and became aware of the fact that it wasn't all that early in the morning.

“Hrm, okay then.” Cadie stretched and walked over to the comm and pulled up the message, more to stop the noise than out of curiosity.

Cadie ran a pale hand through her long red hair. She thought about her behavior since returning from the last mission, since Flyboy. This could be just the vacation she needed. And it had been a long time since she visited the spaceport in Corellia, she remembered liking it as a child.

Making the decision to join Jolinar, Cadie showered and grabbed a bite to eat before getting her gear together. She made her way to the port to meet Jolinar. She never really liked to RSVP for events, it was more fun just to show up and watch people squirm. Seeing gear sitting outside the YT-1300, Cadie walked up the open entry hatch and was greeted by a rather obstinate HK droid.

This must be the HK droid Jolinar had mentioned in her message.

“Well hey there, where do I put my stuff.” Cadie started to drop her bags and pull out a cigar, this was a vacation after all and smoking cigars was her way of starting any vacation.

“Observation: I was not made aware of your arrival. Query: What is your designation?”

If Cadie didn't know better the droid looked positively trigger happy at seeing a would be trespasser.
Cocking her head at the droid Cadie decided not to mess with him. “Cadie Reese, I got an invitation from your master.”

“Affirmation: Yes I see your name on the list, Tinker. Information: I will inform the master of your arrival.”

Cadie winked at the droid. “Thanks handsome, I'll just wait right here.”

Jolinar's comm beeped as she was finishing her packing.  It was a message from Haran.

"Information:  Master, one of the meatbags on your list has arrived.  Query:  Shall I allow her on board the Silver Hawk?"

"Yes, Haran.  Anyone on the list is free to board.  Anyone who's not, ask me before you shoot them.  But if they persist in trying to board and won't take no for an answer, then you can shoot first."  Jolinar had to be explicit when giving certain instructions to her HK.  Especially after an unfortunate incident where a port official on Hapes got shot in the kneecap when trying to conduct a routine inspection...

"Affirmation: Of course, Master."  Jolinar detected more than a hint of sarcasm in Haran's voice.  She grinned and rolled her eyes.  Making one more check of her room to make sure she had everything, Jolinar grabbed her bags and headed down to the hangar to file the necessary documents and make sure her ship was fueled and ready to go.

Jolinar filed the documents with the spaceport authorities, and continued on to the Silver Hawk to see to the fueling, stocking of food, and other preflight necessities.  Haran was standing at the base of the boarding ramp, weapons at the ready naturally.  Most of the workers were giving him and her ship a wide berth, and they were casting suspicious and fearful glances that way as well as though afraid the HK would start firing at random.  Jolinar had to grin at that.  Haran wouldn't fire at random unless there was a clear threat from a mob to Haran himself, Jolinar or anyone she designated as a friendly, or the ship...or unless Jolinar told him he could.

"Query: Is something amusing to you, Master?"  Haran asked as she neared him.

"Yes.  They're amusing."  Jolinar raised an eyebrow in amusement.  "It seems they're afraid of you, Haran."  Jolinar's tone conveyed her teasing.

"Observation:  It would seem so master."  The droid's tone was carefully expressionless, but Jolinar got the impression that if he'd been able to convey human emotions his eyes would be sparkling with suppressed laughter.

"Let me know if anyone else arrives.  I need to see to the rest of the arrangements."  Jolinar patted Haran's shoulder and walked up the ramp.  She caught a whiff of cigar smoke.  "Hi, Cadie.  Pick any passenger cabin you like.  Mine's the big one closest to the cockpit."  Jolinar yelled on her way to run the preflight checklist and warm the engines.  "We've still got plenty of time before takeoff, so make yourself at home.  If you want to smoke your cigars on my ship, there are marked containers for the ashes and the remains of your cigars.  Just keep them out of the cockpit and galley."  Jolinar tossed her bags into her cabin and seated herself in the pilot's chair to start powering up and running systems checks.
