Okay so to those that attended the meeting you know that starting Wednesday April 8th, 2009 we are going to hold a weekly event each week for supported play of lounge games. Basically I wanted to create one night a week where we didnt force you to do some form of work to have fun...and will be open to BOTH divisions Army and Navy.

While we all enjoy whatever form of work we do, wether it is wiki work, website creation, graphical design, posting, squad management, etc...it is all WORK. There is no pure fun that comes out of it on your end.

Now, before I get someone on my back about this because I have a reputation for not wanting lounge games as official activity....consider this:

Normally when I complained about that it was about random games such as pool reported for activity for competitions or weekly reports. This is an organized event planned purely for a night of fun. So yes, you CAN report it in your weekly reports but it has to be during the event. No random games of pool outside of it.

For the first night I am going to run one eight-hour period and only one. I realize some of you may be outside this time window but if it is successful (which I am hoping it will be) then of course we will do more of these and maybe do two periods so everyone can be accommodated.

For this week however...we are looking at starting from 6 PM EST (3 PM PST) to 2 AM EST (11 PM PST) in the IRC Channel #LoungeNight. It will be running throughout the whole night (or until we all die off) and you can join at any time for any part of the event. There are prizes and ICs to be won, but I'll get to that later.

Thus far I have a fairly large variety of games found that we can play. If anyone has a suggestion please COMNET PM me. So...thus far

Also this is rather in the Beta phases it looks like but thanks to Rawr/C3P-X we now have a Pazaak game that's multiplayer! Pure Pazaak

That's the list we have so far. Those playing Yahoo or Pogo will need a yahoo (or pogo) account. It also is great for tracking things.

As I said this is organized play and I will be giving out monetary prizes as well as some ICS merchandise and various other prizes. However, you are also free to gamble your own personal ICs per round should you wish. Who knows...you just might win and earn back your money plus some?

There will be no official rulings as to what rules you must abide by. Just play the game whatever way you all agree on.

I will try to get you all matched in groups according to the games you want to play. For games like poker, cribbage, hearts, Chinese checkers, and such you can have at least 4 to a group so there is a fair amount of room for this. This list will be edited as games are suggested and can be played for this night. The idea is to have no-download games though so try and keep it to multiplayer web games. And should ANYONE find a multiplayer Sabaac/Pazaak client....let's just say you'll be hansomely rewarded.

To make things easier on organizing this....to those that know in advance the games they want to play (maybe even suggest new ones) and know they can attend at some point during the night...comnet PM me with your prefrence list of games so you can get paired up much quicker that night.

Okay so that should cover all our bases. Any questions feel free to leave them here...others might have the same question as you. I'll be more than happy to answer anything I didn't fully explain or leave out. Just...stay on topic and get along please? I dont want to have to get someone to lock an event topic. You'll notice I added a mess of Pogo games to the list. Thanks to those of you who helped me find out what ones they were. So yes...monopoly is fair game. Once again though let me remind you all except for those of you helping me with dry runs of games (which will stop after this week) remember your gameplay is only official if it is part of the event. (for lounge games that is)

Thanks to everyone who showed up tonight. We had a great turnout I thought. I'd like to hear from those of you (in PM) that did come wether it be good or bad what you thought...and maybe those that didn't go if you'd like to go for the next one next Wednesday (same time and place).

Also to those that did come and hopefully had a great time...expect to get some form of participation prizes from me (aside from any IC bets that you made amongst yourself).

All in all, I think we had a GREAT turnout. There were some that I was really hoping to see show up, but maybe I'll see them next week.

Allright starting now for the next EIGHT HOURS...Lounge Night has commenced!

Thanks to all that came last week. I've heard input from some people and this definitely seems to be something we'd like to keep around. However, I'm starting to get a feel for how many people come and when and I'm thinking we can shorten this down to a five hour night rather than eight.

I say this for two reasons. One because there is no point in having me or any of you show up to sit around hoping and praying for a game to start. An odd half hour here and there sure....but a good 1-2 hours? Not really. The other reason is because frankly I am only one person and thus far anyone I could possibly ask to run this in my absence would be on at about the same times anyways.

That said...I don't want to not allow people to be able to participate on the other parts of the world who want this time frame. Therefore...I ask for a volunteer who can run a first shift of this for about 3-5 hours so that people that are not on during the hours that I can put aside to run it will not miss out. It is a fairly easy job and anyone interested should Comnet PM me and NOT post a reply here.

So...this week's lounge night is at Wednesday from 3 PM PST to 8 PM PST however as usual if it goes longer I'll gladly keep it running. The plain fact is though I tried starting 3 hours earlier but it really didn't draw the crowd that the later times did. To those that this affects I am truly and sincerely sorry but I simply cannot justify sitting in front of my computer when I do not get the people to come during the times. (Plus hopefully you'll be able to get a rep to run things during that time)

Now...to those that will be attending this week. I'm going to start doing ladders for the nights that we play. I got a rather interesting amount of feedback asking for ladders so we're going to give that a go. It won't affect how we run things too much just a matter of scoring. And yes, you're still free to bet ICs per game.

Furthermore....stay tuned for an announcement regarding Platform Nights which will be like Lounge Nights except they'll be for platform games (VE games, 360, PS3, Wii, PSP, DS, etc) Games that are multiplayer will be the accepted form of play but not any of the no-download games that we enjoy during lounge night. For those interested though I need a sort of RSVP from you, as this will take a good deal more effort to plan. What I need is a PM saying yeah I'm interested....these are the times I can afford to be on (we're shooting for Fridays by the way).....and these are the games I can play with others. (No....a multiplayer / Star Wars game that you can only play alone does not count...I need games that you can and will play with others during the event. (Therefore the old Jedi Outcast games for the consoles will NOT work only the PC version provided you have a computer that can handle it.)

I would like to start Platform Nights next Friday but depending on the response it might be earlier/later. I do hope I get a good response from it though.

Okay a couple notes here. First off, Lounge Nights will go on until tonight's end (or everyone dies out). Either one.

Secondly, apparently the Platoon Competitions are allowing Lounge Night to count as an activity. So...throughout this competition I will extent the hours to "Lounge Day". So all throughout Wednesday you may report to me on your Lounge Games and at the end of the night I will report in to your Platoon Commanders on your activities. This means I still need a host for you guys on an earlier shift for when I am still working/sleeping. If there are any volunteers for that then great....otherwise you'll need to confirm your games. (meaning each of you report in via COMNET PM!!! (Not a reply on this thread)

So...to all of you enjoy the extended hours. Hope to see you guys get some good points for your competitions through this.

No, its not Zalgo! It is something even more terrifying than the almighty Zalgo! LOUNGE NIGHTS have returned to the Vast Empire. Unfortunately, due to time constraints and conflicts of interest, I will not be able to host this wondrous event once again. However, Anival Velasquez has graciously volunteered their time to do so. Be sure to thank them for their efforts. So, as usual the event is open to both divisions in #loungenight. Anival will be in charge of matchmaking and so on seeing as how they run the event now. Just as a reminder: the games played on Lounge Night DO NOT COUNT FOR OFFICIAL ACTIVITY if played outside of the event. The event itself counts for activity (yes, you can include it in your report if you wish) but any (for example) pool matches outside the event DO NOT count. So, with all the fine details out of the way, here's the information you need to know:
