Geordi was not in a good mood.

He’d been back from Ator for a little over a week now, getting back into the swing of things on board the Atrus.  Squadron life was routine and predictable, the way he liked it.  Chuckling to himself he continued on with his paperwork.  The irony of loving the simple life and being an officer of the Fleet tickled his funny bone like nothing else had of late.

Now, after countless reams of paperwork, shakedowns of the replacement TIE’s and a vetting of the new pilots, Nazgul was somewhat back to full operational.  His new XO, Hunter, was doing a good job.  Kane’s testy departure had both wounded and pissed off G.  The mere thought of his former Number 2 put him in, what was now affectionately known as, ‘Sunshine Mode’.

However the memory of Kane Ahriman was not the source of Driver’s surliness today.  Rather, it was the dual orders he’d just received.  The first was a new mission from NHC.  It involved the usual Nazgul dash and daring.  The second was a recall notice from Reaper.

He’d walked away from Reaper following the debacle on Ator.  That secret agent stuff seemed like fun for a bit, till he’d been on the receiving end of a secretive plot.  That mixed with the lack of orderliness that gnawed at his soul, erased all qualms Driver had about leaving the intelligence squad.

Now, he had orders to report for one last mission.  He’d tried to get out of it, but both Japheth and Claw made it clear that he had no choice in the matter.  One more and he was forever done.

  “Damn.”

Throwing the pad containing the Reaper orders to the side, he picked up the new standard mission brief.  Not that this was a ‘standard’ mission.  Well, ‘standard’ was subjective.  Nazgul tended to get the slightly above average joy rides due to her ‘Captain’s Own’ status.  It was a standard that made Geordi proud, but he sometimes longed for those long quiet patrols he used to do when Nazgul had been deactivated.

He was required to leave for his Reaper shin-dig in less than an hour.  The Nazgul briefing was in two.  Hunter was in the middle of his final bacta treatment for injuries he’d sustained on Ator, and wouldn’t be done till the moment the briefing started.  That left Slasher.  G sighed.

Hunter understood that he’d been G’s second choice as XO, and he was OK with that.  His first choice had bugged out right after Ator.  Slasher was a good pilot, some would say great, but he had fallen on a rough patch after they got back.  First he’d been taken to task by the Quartermaster for slagging a brand new TIE Avenger.  Next, he’d been called on the carpet by, of all people, NTO Bacredi.  THAT one had really pissed Driver off.  He’d almost got bounced himself for the ass chewing he gave his fellow Ensign.  NOBODY screwed with his men Naval High Council or not.

Between the QM and Blue, Slash’s self-confidence had taken a hit.  The kid had been mopey and sluggish ever since.  Now, with his Secret Agent BS and Hunters medical issues, Slasher would be called upon to prepare the team for battle.

Driver tapped out the orders and sent the NHC briefing to Slasher.  He hoped the kid could pull it off.  He finished off his notes
“…and I’ll join you as soon as I can.  Hunter is in command till I get there, but I need YOU to step up and be the pilot I know you are.”

  He thumbed the ‘Send’ button.

“Gods help us all”, he muttered as he grabbed his flight bag and slipped out of the room and down the corridor.

OOC:
Here ya are kids, new stuff.  Slasher will give the brief, so NO posts till then.  I'm out of town for the weekend and will join you guys in progress.  Let's show'em that 'Ties' was not a fluke, and that we are truly the Captain's Own.

===Slasher's Quarters===

Slasher was just finishing replacing the dressing on his stab wound that he suffered on the mission to Ator, he had refused bacta treatment, believing his wound to be less important than some of those that his various pilots had sustained, and aside from that, he tried to keep those scars that he had sustained honorably in hand to hand combat, both as reminders of the fights, and as reminders of times he wasn't quite fast enough, which made him practice all the harder for future engagements.

Hearing his pad beeping, Slasher walks over and pulls up the message he had just recieved.

...

Slasher looks at the information that had just arrived on his pad. Initially the orders that were contained in the message had made him do a double-take, but when they didn't change the second time he looked he just shrugged and began to look up the information on the location and the mission, and then began to prepare to brief the rest of the squadron on the mission.

===Briefing Room===

Stepping up to the Podium in front of the small room filled with the pilots of Nazgul Squadron, Slasher clears his throat and calls for the attention of the assembled pilots.

"All right guys, gals, and myriad aliens." he begins, but he doesn't get very far before Hunter-Morrell interupts him,

"Just get on with it Slash, we'll be to old to fly by the end of your speech-making," this is met with some laughter from the assembled pilots, and a good natured smile from Slasher.

"All right Hunter, by the way, Driver wants me to thank you for volunteering to run maintenance checks on all the fighters at the end of the mission, I'm sure the techs will appreciate the help." This is met with further laughter, and Hunter shrugs in a 'See what I have to put up with' gesture.

"Anyway, getting back to the point of this briefing, we have a new mission." hitting a button on the podium, Slasher activates the holoprojector, which shows the image of an asteroid field, and zooms in on a particular asteroid with a small structure on its surface.

"This is where we are heading, a small mining operation on an asteroid in a field near the Anoat system, on the surface it is just a regular small privately owned mining operation. However, beneath that surface, lurks something much more sinister, we have been able to track the pirate group which has been responsible for attacks on several convoys recently which were carrying raw materials and weapons shipments to our shipyards and various bases." This information is met by some murmurs among the assembled pilots, who had all been feeling the strain of this shortage on their recent missions, and who were very unhappy about it.

"We have also discovered that while this pirate group initially was operating on their own, they have since been receiving support from the 'New Republic' in terms of fuel, weapons, and also with a group of 'Advisors' who have been responsible for several sabotage missions against various VE installations in recent months."

"Why not just send in a Star Destroyer and level the base?" Asks Ruwe, "Why are we being sent into an asteroid field and risking our necks to do this?"

"A good question," Slasher responds, "and one which I am about to answer." he hits another button, and a convoy appears on the edge of the asteroid field.

"Our objective, is going to be to get the NR 'Advisors' who have been causing trouble for us. In order to do this, we are going to need to get inside the base's perimeter, and land." Slasher zooms in on the convoy with the holoprojector. "This convoy, made up of a Nebulon-B Escort Frigate, and several transports and freighters, will drop out of hyperspace near the edge of the asteroid field, and will serve as bait to draw out the Pirates from the field."

Manipulating the holoprojector, Slasher moves the view to the other side of the asteroid field. "We will insert from the opposite side of the field, we will fly through and land at the base while they are busy with the Convoy. we will then split up into two groups once we land, Gshlecc is going to take myself, Goth, and Albinostorm, and the four of us will attempt to infiltrate the enemy base and take out the NR 'Advisors' with the goal of capturing a few of them for interogation. At the same time, Hunter will take the rest of the squadron, and they will provide a diversionary infiltration. Our goal is going to be to sabotage as much of their equipment as possible, and then to blow the atmospheric units on our way out."

Hunter, noticing a flaw with the plan, asks "How will we be getting out the prisoners? Our fighters don't have room for a second person."

"Good question, we will be exfiltrating with some help from the convoy, the Nebulon-B will dispatch a Combat shuttle over to the base when we are ready to pull out, they will carry a small number of troopers to guard the prisoners, and they will escort them back to the Nebulon-B."

After a series of nods from the assembled pilots, Slasher goes into the final section of the briefing. "After we complete our mission, we will exfiltrate, embarking on board the Nebulon-B for the trip to the Shipyards. Any further questions?"

Seeing that there are no questions, Slasher nods to Hunter, he stands up, turning to the pilots, and says,

"All right, get ready, draw whatever you wish to take with you on the mission from the armory, but remember, you will be carrying them with you on board your fighter, so pack light, we can pick up anything else we need on the way."

OOC:
All right guys, I've created the overall design for this mission, for the time being, we can write about everything up to the point where we leave the escort frigate to jump to the edge of the field. Driver and I will co-ordinate and decide when we will continue to that part of the mission.

Looks like whoever writes these missions can't get the similarity between "Nazgul" and "Wraith" out of their head, lol. (If you don't know what I mean, read the X-Wing book series, particularly number 5 (titled Wraith Squadron). They're also great for learning to write space combat.

Drac listened to the briefing with extra concentration compared to what he normall employed. He always paid attention regardless, but now he had others to think about as well, not just himself. As the briefing closed he made his way over to Albino and Mobarin, intercepting them before they could leave the room, "I just want to make sure you two are clear on what you need. You've done this before, Ten, so you're probably in good shape. Eleven, make sure you bring a blaster and at least one knife. I know it seems like a fighter pilot shouldn't need a combat knife, but trust me when I say it'll save your life out there. If you don't have one, or don't have time to get one before we ship out, get anything you can. Beyond that I want to make sure you're both clear on what'll be going down."

After speaking with the other members of Three flight Drac made his way to the hangar. As soon as he got there he did a visual inspection of his ship, walking around it slowly and checking the play of the laser cannons, the shield projectors' clarity, and a myriad of other details. The Mon Cal quickly determined that everything was in good shape. Climbing into the catwalks above, he walked over to his ship and dropped down the hatch. He spent several minutes in here also, checking that the various pieces of equipment were all in good order.

Finally satisfied that his ship was ready for combat, Drac reached down into his boot and pulled out one of his combat knives. He tested the blade on a small plasteel block he kept with him for that purpose and grunted in satisfaction at the results before putting the weapon back in its hidden holster. He did the same with his other combat knife, pulling it out of his left sleeve.

The last weapon he checked was his blaster pistol. It was brand new, a replacement given to him upon his elevation to flight leader. His old weapon, the same model as this one, had been sliced in two by Driver's uncle. Drac's skin still itched with tension whenever he thought of that moment. The man's light foil, the next best thing to a lightsaber, could just have easily ended Drac's own life as it did the 'life' of his pistol.

Climbing out of the fighter, Drac's attention was drawn to the entrance of the hangar. A rodian officer stood there, beckoning him down. Hunter and Slasher stood beside him, waiting. The Mon Cal pilot nodded and qcuikly made his way to the ladders that gave access to the catwalks. When he arrived at the others' location Hunter indicated the rodian, saying, "Petty Officer Foosh here has some special cargo for the three of us." Foosh opened a box on the floor by his feet and pulled out small squares of something to show to them before putting all but one back and standing again. "Those are plasteel explosives, and we'll each be getting a portion of them to hand out as neccessary on the mission."

That made Drac a little nervous, "Ah, Chief? I'm not exactly an explosives expert."

"Don't worry. These are a simple kind, made specifically for use by those of us who don't use them for a living." Hunter looked at the rodian again, "Petty Officer?"

Holding up the explosive, the rodian pointed out a small interface attached to one side. He also held up a small microchip, "When you're ready to use the explosive, briefly insert the microchip into the slot on the interface. Then punch in the number of minutes until the explosive should detonate. To activate the charge, remove the chip. Just make sure you put the chip back in the bag or in some other place where you won't lose it."

Drac nodded, "Okay, that explains the how. What about the why?"

"You know any other way to blow atmospheric units?"

"Ah...no."

PO Foosh knelt again, re-placing his example in one of the three bags inside the box. He closed the bag, then lifted all three free and stood. He handed one to each flight leader, "Just attach these satchels to your belts. You'll be perfectly safe so long as no one shoots the bag. A blast impact on one of these charges has a one in two chance of activating it. There's also a smaller bag of microchips in each satchel, in case you need to pass the explosives out among several pilots. Good luck."

Also, remember that only Hunter, Slasher, and I have the explosives. Anyone else just saw a conversation.[ooc]

Stepping out of the hanger after getting the explosives from the Petty Officer, Slasher heads off to the armory to prepare himself for the mission. Normally he would have preferred to carry his own weapons, but because this is a squadron mission, he has to use weapons from the armory.

As Slasher walks through the corridors of the Atrus, he is recognized by various members of the crew, various off-duty personnel, and younger ranking crewmen making way for the Senior Chief, he nods to many of them, stopping here and there to speak with various other command level personnel about various parts of their business.

Finally he arrives at the armory, and as he enters Marine Gunnery Sergeant Blirgin Vrold looks up and recognizing Slasher he greets him warmly.

"Slash, I'm surprised to see you here, normally when I get a special order that isn't in stock I'm coming to you to get some beauty, what brings you here today?"

Slasher laughs lightly at Vrold's comment and responds, "I'm going out on Navy business, have to use their equipment, otherwise command get's ticked off, and I don't need them or the supply guys any more pissed at me than they already are."

Vrold turns to the shelves and lockers behind him, beginning to pull out Slasher's normal load-out, and asks as he does, "So what did you do this time to piss off the brass?"

Slasher picks up a piece of a weapon that was on the desk that Vrold had been working at, and continued the cleaning which he had been doing as he began to explain.

"Well it started on our last mission, simple Honor Guard detail for a Navy Officer returning home for his father's funeral. We got jumped on the way there and I ended up having to ditch my Avenger, which was about to explode from the battle damage. So Command is pissed about having to replace the Avenger. But I have also had some run-ins with the NTO, which have made things a little strained between Command and myself."

As he received his weapons from Vrold, Slasher thanks him and starts to head out toward the hanger to go check on his fighter, as he is leaving Vrold calls out after him,

"By the way chief, if you break those, you buy them."

"Fair enough"

"Good Luck"

"Thanks"

Leaving the armory, Slasher retraces his steps to the hanger, where he walks to his new Avenger, and begins to look around the exterior of the hull, frowning. Seeing Slasher looking troubled as he examines his fighter Hunter walks over to him and asks,

“Slash, something wrong with the new fighter?”

looking up, Slasher sees Hunter and says, “Just one thing sir, this fighter is so damn new, I loved my old fighter because it had memories, evidence of combat I had been in. This one is so new, it has no character of it's own.”

“Well then it's a good thing you have enough character for the both of you.” Hunter hands Slasher a pad and begins to turn away, “Apparently driver intended for you to be responsible for the pre-flight checks of all the fighters to prep them for this mission. Have fun.”

====Earlier that day, Before the Briefing====
Stepping into the Nazgul barracks, Hunter noticed a complete and utter lack of life. Nobody was there, not even Atrasin. Or so he thought.

“Who is it?” a voice sounded out from a room off to the side, Atrasin’s office.

“Hunter.”

“Ah. Just the man I wanted to see. Come in here, I’ve got some news for you.”

Sighing, he quickly jogged over to the door, which was open. Rounding the corner, he noticed Atrasin had many a papers lying across his desk. As he did so, Nazgul’s SC raised his head and fixed his eyes on Hunter, smiling slightly.

“I’ve got some good news and bad news. Which one first?” Atrasin said.

“Bad.”

“You’re going to be leaving your Flight Leader position along with the Flight Members under you. Now the good news. You are hereby promoted to Senior Chief Petty Officer and given the position of Nazgul’s Executive Officer in light of Kane’s recent… leave. Congratulations.”

Speechless, Hunter fell back against the doorway.

A week ago, I was just a Flight Member in Kaph Squadron and then I was moved to the Flight Leader position here in Nazgul Squadron. Now I’m the Executive Officer. This is just overwhelming.

“Thank you sir. It is an honor.”

“Your very much welcome. Now, I suggest you get yourself some bacta; you look like you need it.”

Nodding, Hunter walked out of the Nazgul barracks and to the medical center with his head held high.

====Later, After the bacta immersion, But before the Briefing====

“Hold still sir while we apply the bandages.” the med-bot said to Hunter as it unrolled the long, white strips.

Curtly nodding, Hunter grimaced as small bandages were pressed onto his chin and an actual bandage wrap was placed around his neck. Back on the last mission, he didn’t notice at first that the explosive wave that the second bomb had created had not stopped just short of him, but had in fact continued on past him, giving him the full effects of the blast. That is why his eardrums had been broken.

[i]Speaking of eardrums, they’re still a tad bit sore and sensitive to loud noises, but are otherwise back to normal. I suffered some burns on my lower face, neck and arms that weren’t too serious. If I had only went straight into the bacta as soon as we got back, I’d of been out before the briefing, but I had to take care of some… business that had came up.[i]

When the bot tried to move to his arms, Hunter waved it away. The burns on his arms had nearly gone away, leaving little scarring, but the ones on his face were still visible hence why he was still having the bandages put there. Getting off the table, he walked around the room for a bit before the bot gave him his instructions.

“You are to leave the bandages on for the next thirty minutes to allow for the bacta to completely soak into your skin else it won’t heal completely and you’ll be left with some scarring. All this bacta is for is to round off the treatment as you wanted to be let out before it was fully completed.”

Nodding, Hunter stepped out of room just as his datapad, beeped indicating a new message. Taking it out, he smirked as it reminded him of the upcoming briefing. Quickening his pace, he hurried towards the briefing room.

This is my first add-on to a story, but.. apparently it's my duty to continue. The fact that I am new and unexperienced will probably show up heavily in my writing, though I'll try to make sure it doesn't impede my writing. Well, here goes...

====Just After the Briefing====
Stewart--Power sat sullenly on his bunk. He had field striped his DL-44 Blaster Pistol and it was now laid out on his bunk. His apprehensiveness showed in his shaking hands. It was his first mission as Nazgul 15, and he felt out of place during the briefing. Stewart-Power didn't know much about the last mission, but he knew that many members got injured. The looks Stewart-Power received from other Nazgul members told him all he needed to know about how they thought of him, just a new unexperienced pilot.

"Well," Stewart-Power thought to himself, "It's time to prove my mettle..."
Although this helped to calm his shaken nerves, Stewart-Power still could barely re-assemble his blaster by the time he decided to familiarize himself with the TIE Avenger. Stewart-Power had barely memorized the holo-specs for the TIE fighter after he'd been promoted, then was pushed immediately into a TIE Avenger.

===The Hanger===
Stewart-Power ducked his head as he quickly paced through the hallway to the Hanger. As he entered, Stewart-Power observed four Petty Officers exit the Hanger. Dropping down into his fighter Stewart-Power instantly calmed, as he always did when he held some serious firepower in his clammy palms. Stewart-Power noticed to minor adjustments made to the seat in order to accommodate his Mon Calamari Bulk.

Stewart-Power was relatively fit, though years of monotonous activity on Trandosha and added another "layer' to his frame. Though those years hadn't all been loss, Stewart-Power had gained incredible accuracy and a knack for for hunting large 'game'.

As Stewart-Power climbed out of the TIE, he reflected upon what he was about to do. All he he probably would have to do is keep in head head high and follow orders, simple. But, anyway, before he cleared everything up with Slasher, Stewart-Power would visit the armoury and see just what he could get.

OOC:
Well, thereis my first story, I know it's a bit short but I hope it's quality over quantity. You can PM me with any tips you have (please)

Albino opened his eyes to meet Bana, the Dactillion staring him in the face. most people would have run in fear as the airborne predator met their gaze, except, of course those men of Nazgul, and anyone else who had visited his small residence. As it happens, albino just smiled and gently ran his hand over the animal's neck, to which it deeply hummed it's satisfaction.

Albino took a look at the clock and swore, shouting his apologies to the creature, who simply looked at him in a confused manner, he grabbed his pilot suit and whapped that on as quickly as he could. he then picked up his modified EVO armour and deathwind slugthrower sniper rifle, along with a couple of clips of ammo. He slung them over his shoulder and slapped a small, basic saddle on the Dactillion, who this time growled his dissatisfaction.

"Sorry, mate, I'm in a bit of a hurry as you can see... I think."

Albino calmly whispered as he slowed down a bit and realised his clock was an hour early; he was meant to have set it back an hour last night to prevent this. He gently tightened the saddle around Bana and carefully placed the components of his armour in a small box with places to strap it in underneath a starfighter seat. He then followed Bana outside to a small balcony, where Bana perched, causing the balcony to creak uneasily.

Bana roared and opened his wings, holding them open so Albino could gently sponge down Bana's sides and underneath the wings. When he was done, the large Dactillion awkwardly shuffled around and let Albino was his back, and underneath the saddle. Albino then tightened the saddle so that it was no longer loose and tipped the remaining water from the bucket over the head of his friend and pet, who jumped of the perch and glided for a bit then began climbing then diving down again to dry himself.

From down below came the angry shouts of an aroused and aggravated Acklay, Blade, another of Albino's 'Exotic' animals. Albino shouted something inaudible back down and the gurgled shouts emanating from below ceased for the most part. Bana returned to the balcony a few minutes later and Albino slipped the case with the armour in into a side pocket on the saddle, which he zipped up, and then slipped up himself, tightening straps around the feet, ankles, knees and his thighs. he then took hold of a small handle on the front with one hand and loosely held onto a pair of reigns which Bana had picked up with his mouth and tossed over his head.

Albino's heart leapt as the Dactillion majestically bounced off the balcony and dove down till mere metres away from the floor, whereupon he flung out his wings and used the momentum from the dive and a few flaps to propel the two of them up to flying height. Navigating his way from up here, Albino thought, was like using a holomap, albeit a little bit more realistic and fun. Albino gently guided Bana to the landing pad closest to the hangar itself that he was allowed to use.

As they touched down, the fun faded from Albino and he quickly unfastened the seat, after taking his armour from it, and handed it to Bana followed by a quick command

" take this and go home, this is quite a serious mission from the briefing, and I'm still tired and sore from that duel I had with myself... huh,  that sounds weird"

And with that his mount was off and as albino straightened his back, he marched into the hangar. As albino entered a Tri fighter fired up, slightly larger than most others, and clad in black with a royal blue imperial logo on each of its 'arms', it was evidently a custom job.

To the great surprise and shock of an engineer walking past, The Droid spoke out:

"Albino! another mission! did they say if I can fly solo whilst you and the boarding party are inside?"

Albino sighed and averted his eyes.

"Well, Bane... you see... the thing is.... erm... well, no. I'm really sorry, but I can't use you in these squadron missions, but if I can get anyone to change their minds, you know I will."

At this Bane went very quiet, obviously unhappy with the outcome. In an attempt to remedy this, Albino said in a fairly soothing voice

"Bane, after this mission, I'll take you into one of the hotspots with a TIE, then we can do a bit of research, a bit of patrolling and maybe a bit of dogfighting, that suit you?"

"ok" came the reply, and as the TRI landed and turned off "But I want it to be on the record. You didn't give me this paint job for nothing"

As Albino nodded and entered the spherical cockpit, getting everything he needed ready for sortie, Hunter walked in. Albino managed to catch his attention and after a few questions was relieved to find he could use the equipment he had brought with him.

Albino unslung the slugthrower he had looped over his shoulder and loaded it with one of the magazines. He then secured it next to the seat in the cockpit of the

tie avenger he had been assigned, he then walked off to the toilets, where he quickly Took off and neatly folded up his pilot uniform and methodically put on the EVO suit, and took out the weapon that came with it. He put the case with the uniform on and kept the helmet tucked under his arm. He then placed the second weapon on the other side of the seat and secured that, before fiddling around with the wrist lasers he had added to the armour. He was also careful to remove the fuel cell of the jet pack he had mounted on the back as he wouldn't be using it. Hopefully.

Finally, Albino sat in the cockpit and began the many pre-flight checks that were unnecessary yet helped to ease his tension.

Goth was somewhat surprised at his promotion. Everyone in the squadron had done their part on the last mission, not that he was complaining. He also felt honored to be moved up to 1st Wing, now flying as Nazgul 3.

At the briefing Goth had to smile, hearing that the squadron was going after pirates.

How Ironic.

He thought to himself.
He also thought this could quite possibly get very interesting. Especially if he ran into someone he knew. It didn't bother him though, he had a job to do and he was fragging going to do it. Though an ex-pirate himself, his loyalty was to Nazgul Squadron now. And as everyone knows, most pirates will put a knife in your back if it suited their greedy purposes. He knew from experience that there was seldom honor among thieves, and that went double for pirates.

The first thing Goth did after leaving the briefing was to order up the maps of the area that the operation would be conducted in. Then back at his room he studied them until he knew the areas inside and out (in space, on the ground, and under it). Keeping in mind that the maps were most certainly inadequate at best. He also kept in mind any possible secret locations he could possibly find and check out when they were there. Nazgul was going into a pirates lair after all.
The only thing he requisitioned was an auto-mapper, it was the only thing he really needed. Just a little insurance incase a quick get away was necessary, since he knew how easy someone could get lost in a tunnel complex. He was going to buy one, but none were available at the store. He would probably only need it for this mission anyway. Upon receiving it he slipped it into his flightsuit pocket.

Once back in his room he started getting his gear ready. A vibro-knife up his left sleeve, one in his right boot, and the small custom blaster (he took off a merc on the last mission) in the other boot. His standard DL-44 in the holster on his belt and the spare to be strapped behind his ejector seat, along with his toolkit and copies of the maps for the area they were heading for.
After looking down at the equipment and thinking a moment, he ran down to the store and bought a shiny new M5 Blaster Rifle. Also to strap behind the seat of his fighter, just for good measure.

After dropping the new blaster rifle in his room, Goth went down to the flight deck and had a discussion with the deck commander. When Goth walked away the commander smiled, then turned and gave orders to one of his deck crew. After receiving his orders the man smiled, then dashed off to take care of it.

Leaving the flight deck Goth returned to his room. After double checking his gear and going over the maps again, he grabbed a datapad and and studied starship identification, while he waited for the mission launch time.

After finishing the conversation with the other flight leaders Drac remembered something -or rather, some things- that he'd forgotten. Striding quickly, he made his way to his quarters.

As he walked Drac reviewed the last few days in his head. He'd been debriefed and had spent a day in a bacta tank, to heal the blaster burns and broken rib he'd suffered on Ator. As soon as he had a free moment he'd gone straight to the Imperial Center Store and purchased some new weaponry to augment his basic kit, including the combat knives he liked so much.

After returning from the store Drac had settled into the chair at his desk and was busily adjusting the two knives' holsters to fit comfortably -and un-noticeably- inside his boot and uniform sleeve. He had just finished positioning them when his comm unit dinged an alert.

The Mon Cal pilot pulled up the message he'd just received. It was from G'sch...Geordi. The squadron commander was requesting his presence at the squadron's HQ section. Drac fired off a quick affirmative, glanced sadly at the empty blaster pistol holster on his hip, and exited his quarters. As he made his way to the HQ section he vowed to make another trip to the ICS to replace his sidearm. DL-44s were fine, but the DC-15s was a blaster that hardly ever needed reloading. That was an invaluable commodity in a gunfight.

When Drac arrived at the squadron HQ he passed Hunter on the way out. He thought the man's expression was odd, but shook his head, stepped into Driver's office, saluted, and spoke, "Leading Crewman Drac reporting as ordered, sir."

Driver stood and returned the salute, then beckoned the Mon Cal forward to the chair across from him. As Drac sat the Ensign got straight to the point, "I'm afraid you will no longer be flying as my wingman, Drac."

Concerned and disappointed, especially since he'd been looking forward to flying alongside the squadron commander beyond the short pursuit that ended the Ator mission, the junior pilot had to speak up, "But why, sir? Did I do something, or..."

"Don't worry, it's nothing like that. Actually, I think you'll find this change to be a good one."

"What do you mean, sir?"

"Your new designation is Nazgul Nine and your assignment is to lead Three flight...Petty Officer 2nd Class."

Drac jaw would have bounced off the floor if it could have. At first he was just shocked, then confusion intruded, "Sir, isn't that Slasher's flight?"

"It was, yes. He'll be taking over Four flight from Hunter, who is now Nazgul 5 and the squadron executive officer." G took a measuring glance at the other pilot, "What's your reaction to this?"

"I'd be honored to take over the flight, sir...but I'm so new. I've only got one mission under my belt, and that wasn't what I'd call a normal mission. Are you sure I'm qualified to handle the job?"

If anything, Driver looked amused, "So you think you know Nazgul better than I do, hmm?"

"Err...no, sir. I didn't mean to imply that." Drac wanted to punch himself.

Leaning forward, G clasped his hands, "If I think you can handle the job, rest assured that you can, regardless of your experience or lack thereof...and be careful what you call a normal mission. You'll find that few, if any, missions ever meet those specs.

"You're a good pilot, and you've got a lot of potential. Now you've got a flight to lead. What do you say?"

"Wow...uhh, thank you, sir! But if the flight leaders are all switched around, what about the flight members? Who'll I be flying with?"

G flipped the top page over on a clipboard on his desk, glancing at the roster on it for a moment before replying, "For now, just two. Albinostorm, who is now a Senior Crewman, will be your wingman. A new pilot, Leading Crewman Mobarin, will be Nazgul 11. There won't be any 12 until more replacements hit the squadron."

"Understood, sir. Is there anything else you need from me?"

"Here, take these." Driver opened a desk drawer and removed new rank insignia, which he passed to Drac, "Get those on and get familiar with your flight. It won't be long before we're heading out again."

They spoke for a few more minutes, then Drac left the SC's office in a daze. To say that this was unexpected was a great understatement. In fact, he must look much like Hunter had earlier, though Hunter had even more reason for it. But one thing was definitely true: This was, first and foremost, a duty and a challenge. And that's just fine. The greater the wave, the greater your fullfilment when it fails to drown you.

Breaking off from the memories, Drac opened the door to his quarters. Inside, in a desk drawer, he found the items he'd returned for: four grenades, two frag, two smoke. They ought to come in useful on this mission. Securing them in a belt pouch, the mon cal turned off the lights of his quarters, closed and locked the door, and headed for the hangar. Before long it would be time to fly.

Slasher looked around as he finished running the checks on all the fighters, looking for Hunter, not seeing him immediately, Slasher shuts the panel on the fighter he had been checking, and pulling out his commlink, he calls Hunter.

“Nazgul 13 to Nazgul 5”

”This is Hunter, Slash what's up?”

“I just finished my checks on the fighters, we're good to go, and the space has been made for the men to put their equipment.”

“All right, have control call all pilots to the flight deck. Everyone should be provided with Commando Fatigues, no rank flashes, or anything. Get those from the quartermaster, and join us back on the flight deck.”

“Yes Sir,”

Moving quickly from the flight deck, Slasher heads to the Quartermaster to get the fatigues. Once he has requisitioned them, and had the all the rest other than his sent up to the pilots, he stops by his quarters to grab the equipment that he will be taking on this mission.

What should I bring on this mission...

Slasher walks over to his cabinet of armaments, and opens it, rummaging through he makes a mental note to get a larger storage unit for his weapons, and begins to pull together his equipment for the mission.

Hmm, of course I'll need the DL-44, and my trusty S-5, and also a nice collection of knives...

after getting all of his equipment together, Slasher changes into the commando fatigues, and pulls on his flight suit over the fatigues. Holstering his two pistols, as well as grabbing his backup piece to store underneath his ejection seat, Slasher heads back toward the flight deck.

===Flight Deck===

Hunter was giving the final orders to the men as their fighters were moving above them from their storage hangers to the launch rails.

“All right, follow your Flight Leader, no one is to fire unless the order is given by Driver or myself, and remember, the goal here is to infiltrate, we don't want them to know that we are there until the time is right.”

Hunter takes one last look around, he sees Slasher returning from his quarters, geared up and ready to go. Turning back to the rest of the pilots of the squadron he says,

“Nazgul Pilots, man your fighters!”

Quickly every pilot started running to their fighters, jumping into cockpits and stowing their equipment on board, they began to report in, once the entire squadron had reported and they had been cleared for launch by Flight Control, Driver came over the comm in every ship and said,

“Good luck men, let's go out there and show them why you don't mess with the Vast Empire Navy. Nazgul Squadron, Launch!”

Slasher put his engines into full forward thrust, dropping out of the launch bay with the rest of Nazgul Squadron, and once they have accounted for everyone and they watch the decoy convoy disappear into hyperspace, Driver gives the order to jump into hyperspace, and orders comm silence into effect, Text Messaging system only until they land at their target.

=== Nazgul 13, Hyperspace===

Slasher sits back in his cockpit as the fighter flies through hyperspace, and suddenly he is transported by a vision, not much more than a jumble of images and sounds, from his past,

A freighter, disabled near the edge of an asteroid field,

A young woman in her early twenties, who looks so familiar, running a sword through his parents and laughing maniacally,

a man in his early 30s, staying her hand as she prepares to strike him...

“I want to keep this one, I have need of a servant.”

being taken to a base on the surface of an asteroid.

Slasher's eyes fly open and he exclaims “Sithspit!” his hand drops to the blaster at his side and looking out of his cockpit into the swirl of Hyperspace, Slasher yells out,

“I WILL GET YOU, I SWEAR, IF IT IS THE LAST THING I DO, YOU WILL PAY FOR MY PARENTS”

the image of the woman's face, which had haunted his dreams a lot when he was younger, was now once again burned into his mind, and he knew, somehow he knew, that she was waiting on the surface of that base, sharpening her sword, and preparing to finish the job.

Slasher reaches down and begins to type up a message to Driver and Hunter, carefully wording it, because it will be red by the rest of the squadron as well as those two men.

Sirs,
I have just had a vision, in which I saw my parents killer, she is on that base, for some reason we have a mental connection, which has allowed me to sense when she is near at times. I pursued her for a long time, but she always escaped, I can only assume that she somehow knew I was coming, and managed to escape each time. However this time she is making no attempt to hide, she is there, and she knows I am coming.
I do not know whether or not she knows I am accompanied but hopefully the decoy attack will keep her distracted long enough for us to land. However this may give us better cover, she will believe I am coming only to take revenge for my parent's death, and that you all are following me. I hunted her for 4 years before joining the Navy, and when I saw her, she was wearing an old version Rebel Alliance uniform. Which makes me think she may be one of our targets.
Orders on how to proceed?

OOC:
About 940 words or so, a couple of updates on the storyline at this point. We are all on Fighters in transit now, we will not enter the asteroid field until Saturday. As far as the plot twist above, there will be more introduced about this character throughout the story, but she will feature very heavily in the rest of the mission. At present I expect people to be taking the transit time to go over their maps, prepare and decide on attack routes, etc. Have fun, but no one can do anything more with this woman until I release her for everyone to write with, right now she is mine. feel free to speculate about her, and about that memory I just sent to Driver and Hunter, because it goes over the entire message network.

After launching into hyperspace, Hunter sat back in the seat and, due to some special modifications he had made, pulled a lever and let the back of the seat downward which allowed him to stretch out. Pulling out a pillow and a sheet he had packed beforehand, Hunter arranged them and closed his eyes, falling asleep almost instantly. He wasn’t afraid of going off course because his TIE was on auto-pilot and wouldn’t go off course unless manually moved. Slowly, he drifted into the dreamworld.

”Slight signs of habitation, but no signs of actual life. It looks deserted, as if it hasn’t been used in years. It doesn’t look like there are even mynocks here, much less another Imperial faction. I’m sorry, but there is just nothing but junk here.” Hunter said, coming his report to the Vast Empire ship waiting on the edge of the system.

“Ok. Come back and we’ll give you your payment and head back to friendly territory. Afterward, you can be on your way.”

“Affirmative.”

Slowly turning, he was startled when a loud burst shook the station and starfighters came pouring out.

“What the- ahhh!” he shouted, cut off by loud explosions erupting on the outside of his ship.

Crippled, he had but one option left. Ejection. His mind hazy after being rocked around by the explosions, Hunter groped around for the ejection lever and readied his flight suit. Finding it, he pulled it hard and was pushed back into his seat as the cockpit blew off and he was flung out by the ejection system. As he rocketed away, he turned just in time to see his beloved TIE burst into flames that were quickly extinguished by the cold vacuum of space. The same cold vacuum that would soon take him. It slowly seeped through his suit, despite all the safety measures and precautions and sapped his strength. As his body was chilled, his blood flow slowed drastically. All his body functions shut down, all except his brain and his heart. And even they slowly faded away. Space enveloped him, the cold darkness holding him, whispering to him to let go and let it take him. But he refused. He fought the darkness as long as he could, but at last, it overtook him. The last thing he remembered before he blacked out was a shiny, metallic object floating towards him.

The man awoke later in a strange place surrounded by doctors and med-bots. Not knowing where he was or more importantly who he was, he moved his lips and tried to make a sound come out, but nothing did. The doctors realized he was awake and filled him in on his condition. He had suffered brain damage from a lack of oxygen and was left with severe memory loss. For the next week, he concentrated on trying to regain his memory, but to no avail. It wasn't until a few days after he was released that he finally remember one thing. Two pilots walked by discussing what they were going to be doing when they were on leave.

"I'm going to keep on hunting down the New Republic loyalist. I'm going to live up to my nickname as The Hunter." one pilot said.

As soon as the man heard the last word, he frowned and tried to remember why that was familiar. He went through different possibilites, but as soon as he arrived on the possibility it could be his name, it came back to him. It was his name. His name was Hunter.

As the slight tug of entering hyperspace faded, Albino sat slightly forward and yawned. He was still quite tired from the last mission and the deep wounds would never really heal; However, as far as Albino was concerned, he was lucky, many of the members had been sat in bacta tanks for hours on end, and many also had psychological scars to deal with.

Albino attempted to neatly fold away the fatigues he had been offered, but ended up making a mess of it and so simply tucked them behind his seat. he carefully checked over all the soft spots on his armour and checked the weapons he had brought with him. All seemed to be well, but he had done his pre-combat nerves a favour.

Albino was to be one of the four infiltrating the base, which had made him wonder, as he was probably one the most inadept members of the flight for the job, but Albino did not dare question orders, that had been drilled into him at an early age. Another thing that was key to the success of the mission was communication, which was another skill Albino lacked in.

as Albino sat there and wondered why he had been chosen, a message flashed up on his screen, from Slash, sent to everyone involving his parents killers. Albino knew what it was like to lose one's parents. his mother murdered and his father... well his father's mind died when his mother had died, only his body seemed to stay alive.

Albino looked at the floor of the cockpit and sighed.
First a small tear ran down his face.
Then another.
finally he couldn't hold it back, he clenched all his muscled and roared so hard and loud it nearly shook the TIE apart.

Albino wiped his eyes dry then put on the helmet to match his armour and sat back in his chair. He typed a small message to only Slasher.

'I'll leave the **** to you, mate'

Albino opened up the cartographer, and looked at the holomap of the asteroid field, carefully following the route they would take, then the route the decoy would make. He searched for the schematics of the base itself but found nothing.

Albino picked up his slugthrower, checking the scope, making sure it was accurate by cross-referencing it with the Fighter's own crosshairs. and that lifted Albino's mood a little bit.

Huh Albino thought to himself. Who thought of calling them 'crosshairs'. What a random word.

Albino replaced the weapon and sank back in his chair, extremely uncomfortable with the jetpack he had added onto it, he would probably have bruises all over himself when he got back.

Albino thought back to his rock climbing and his sniper training and all the things he had enjoyed with black sun. Then he looked back in contempt at himself when he had been a slave of the Hutts. He hummed deeply, the closed his eyes and set the alarm for when they were 5 minutes out.

As he drifted off to sleep, he thought to himself:

Thank..god...for....au-to-pi-lot.....

As Goth sat studying in his room, someone buzzed his door. Goth was surprised, no one had ever came to his room unexpected before.
Opening his door he found one of the Quartermaster's boys standing there holding a full set of commando fatigues. Goth realized what they were for, but the man explained, "orders." as he handed them over.
After closing the door Goth quickly stripped off his flight suit and put on the fatigues, then put his flight suit back on over them.
Checking the clock Goth saw it was about time to head to the flight deck for mission launch. So after rearming himself with his personal weapons, he grabbed his gear off the bed and left his room.
On the flight deck Goth was a little early and was one of the first of the squadron to arrive.
When everyone was present and accounted for, final orders were given, and everyone was told to man their fighters. Goth scooped up his gear from the deck floor and went to his Avenger.
Giving her a quick external inspection, Goth smiled as he saw the dagger painted on the hull near the lower corner of the froward view port, on both sides. Written on the dagger as if in dripping blood were the words 'Bloody Dagger' (the name he had given his fighter).

'A lot fancier than I expected.'

He said out loud to himself.
Then looking up he saw the deck commander smiling at him from half way across the flight deck. Smiling at him Goth gave him a thumbs up, and the commander gave him a salute. Goth returned it and then climbed into his ship.
Once inside he strapped his gear behind the ejector seat, then strapped himself in. After the preflight check Goth opened his com,

'This is Nazgul 3, ready for launch.'

Then keyed it off.
After the whole squadron had checked in The SC came over the com,

'Good luck men, let's go out there and show them why you don't mess with the Vast Empire Navy, Nazgul Squadron launch!'

The G-forces pressed Goth back into his seat as he kicked his engines up to full thrust. After hitting open space the squadron formed up and Goth watched as the convoy went into hyper. The orders TXT only came in and Nazgul as one jumped into hyperspace. The mission had begun.

'Frag!'

Goth realized he had forgotten to bring the data pad on starship ID to study while in hyper.

'Well it's to late now."

Goth thought to himself.
A short time after going into hyper a TXT came across his board from Slash. Saying a potential target of the mission was at the destination and knew Nazgul was coming. Apparently the killer of his parents.

'So much for the decoy and sneaking in.'

Slasher's suggestion that she might think he was coming for revenge with Nazgul for backup, did not reassure Goth in the slightest.
As usual the mission was flying out of control, and this time it was starting early.

'Never a dull moment.'

Goth laughed to himself.
Then decided with the mission starting out like this, it was a safe bet that he was about to see some old acquaintances.

The engines checked out, life support was green, and his blsater cannons showed fully charged. When it was Drac's turn to launch he called, "Nazgul 9, away." Moments later he was clear of the hangar, holding position above One flight and at their five o'clock. He twisted in his seat, nodding as the other two members of Three flight settled into place on his five and seven. Keying his comm to the flight frequency, he spoke, "How're you doing, Eleven?"

"All green, sir," came back through the speakers.

"And you, Ten?"

"Nothing's gone wrong yet, Nine."

"Good to hear." Switching over to the squadron channel, he called out, "Leader, this is Nine. Three flight is good to go."

Minutes later Drac leaned back into his seat, relishing the peace of the cockpit. He sat there for a few minutes, meditating more or less, before straightening up and keying up the maps of the asteroid field.

The field was one of pretty good size, and would definitely provide a challenge for any pilot. He just hoped that the new pilots -especially Mobarin, since he was in Three flight- wouldn't panic in the field. They might not have had enough time to sim such runs and become comfortable with them. For that matter, they weren't exactly old news to him either, but he knew how to take it in stride.

After studying the plans for some time Drac did a final check on his personal weapons, making sure none were loose to fly about the cockpit. The Mon Cal was satisfied that he was ready for the mission. He adjusted his position in his chair, settled back, and reviewed some of the flight level tactics he'd managed to research before the mission began.

He didn't get far before a text came through from Slasher. Reading it, Drac found himself quite surprised and concerned. Then again, he was quickly learning that battle plans never stay intact very long. They would receive whatever welcome came to them once they'd exited hyperspace. There was nothing for it but to deal with the enemy response however neccessary.

Getting back to his previous train of thought, the Petty Officer concentrated on his preparations. After a while, though, his mind wandered to his time at the Academy, from there continuing back to his family.

The day he'd left had been...awkward, to say the least. He'd been excited and nervous, of course, but that wasn't the problem. Nor was it that he'd never been away from home before. He'd signed on as crew for a couple of short trading runs in the past few years, so space voyages weren't a novelty any more. Even the fact that he was joining the military did not unduly trouble this parting...well, not exactly anyway. The problem actually lay more in his destination.

Dac, as the Mon Calamari people's home planet, had quickly become a hotbed of rebel sentiment ever since the Emperor's death. It had only gotten worse with the recent victories on the part of the so-called New Republic. Every day he could not help but hear Rebellion-this, or New Republic-that. The violence that movement had caused in the galaxy and the turmoil it engendered on his home planet were increasingly frustrating for him. Finally, he'd decided he could take no more of it.

When he told his parents he was leaving to join the military, they accepted his news equably enough. His father even offered to come with him to the nearest New Republic recruiting office. Just the thought of those words got Drac angry, even months later. Of course, his parents were just as angry when he soundly rejected that and added that he was joining the Vast Empire. They'd argued all night, until his mother left the room in tears and he stormed out of the house...

Why couldn't they understand? Yes, the Rebellion had fought the oppression of the Empire and had lifted it from many worlds. But once the Emperor was dead the rebels should have dispersed, their job done. That they continued, doing their best to conquer the galaxy and rule it themselves, was beyond incriminating. They were no better than the Empire had been; they caused at least as much strife. Life was no better now for all their efforts, and quite possibly worse.

He'd fought with his parents for all the days leading up to the day he was scheduled to leave. His father pleaded with him to at least reconsider and join no military at all, but he was steadfast. The Vast Empire was a beacon of reason, moderation, and stability in the galaxy, and that was where he wanted to serve. His siblings were quiet and grave, but offered no opinion in the matter.

Their parting was tense, but Drac took some comfort in the fact that he had not let his emotions rule him to the point of refusing to give his parents one last embrace, one last avowal of shared love, before he left.

Slasher looked up as his heads up display started to beep, he immediately sees that they are approaching their decant point. Quickly he checks to make sure everything is in place, all his weapons secured, then he brings his fighter out of hyperspace.

Looking around Slasher watches as the other fighters come out of hyperspace. He looks down as the text system flashed up a message from Driver.

All pilots, report in.

As Slasher watched, all the pilots reported in, everyone had arrived without a problem. Slasher exhales happily, glad to have arrived for once at their destination without having anyone experience any problems. As he looks out at the asteroid field, Slasher cannot see their destination, but he knows it is there, and he knows that very soon they will be heading into that field to find that asteroid, and the base on it. While a number of the new pilots may have been excited, or dreading their first combat action, Slasher was looking forward to the upcoming mission, this woman from his vision, the one who had killed his parents, was going to pay for it, she would pay, this he was sure of.

Looking around to check that the rest of his flight has formed up around him, Slasher and his flight watch and wait as the other three flights enter the asteroid field for their trip to the target.

Finally, as the last fighter of three flight enters the asteroid field, Slasher accelerates his fighter, moving forward into the asteroid field, checking his rear sensor, Slasher sees that both of his pilots have started into the field after him.

Slasher quickly begins to maneuver his way through the asteroid field, swerving, diving, climbing, and rolling to get his fighter through the maze of rocks surrounding him, moving ever closer to the base that held their targets.

After several minutes of maneuvering through the field, Slasher and his flight finally arrived at the asteroid, landing his fighter within the light atmosphere of the asteroid, Slasher quickly checks to make sure that he has all of his weapons and equipment secured, then he pops the hatch and moves out of the fighter, assembling with the rest of the pilots of Nazgul squadron on the surface of the asteroid.

"Alright, we have successfully inserted, we are now going to split up," Driver says, "strike team, your with me, decoy team, go with Hunter."

A chorus of affirmatives sounds, and the squadron splits up, heading toward their separate targets. As Slasher follows Driver, Goth, and Albinostorm, he pulls out his S-5 Multi-purpose blaster pistol. While an older model weapon, it has yet to fail him during combat.

As Driver's team reaches the edge of the Base's perimeter, Slasher hears an explosion from the other side of the base, and suddenly the base comes alive as personnel hurry to respond to the attack. With their portion of the base quickly emptying, Driver's team quietly enters the base and begins to move in.

Slasher looks around as they advance, his eyes constantly watching for any glimpse of his personal enemy.

Alarms Woke Albino from his slumber, causing him to almost jump out of his seat. At First he began searching for hostiles, but then realised it was just to wake him up, and it had done so 4 minutes late.

Albino sat back in his seat and tightened the straps around himself, he turned off all lights, save his helmet display and a small dim red light giving him just enough light to see the various workings of his cockpit. He also turned off the annoying siren. Albino checked all the navigational equipment and shot a quick TXT to Drac, his flight leader, asking if anything had happened just to make sure. Everything was going as planned

Then came the decant point and albino pushed back into his pilot's seat, bracing against the hyperspace exit. They were just outside the asteroid field, And Albino was arranged neatly at his flight leader's seven o'clock, above and behind, with flight 3's newest member, Mobarin, at his 3.

Albino took the safety off his lasers, but he had no missiles to make himself lighter. Besides, he wouldn't be in the dogfight long if all went well. He also set up the targeting system and made a small note in the bottom left corner of his helmet's HUD:

No close combat. Leave the woman to Rorran.
He quickly exchanged Rorran for Slasher, slapping himself playfully at his stupidity

Albino closed his eyes for a second, but it seemed to take a decade. He ran through his life, from when he joined up with the Hutt Cartel, through Black Sun and all of his chaotic, yet warming time with the Vast Empire Navy. He was happy here, and he was happy for the first time in his life. He wasn't a tool, but a human being.

Albino smiled then returned a TXT to driver saying he was ready. A grin covered half of his face, and his head lowered. This weapon was going to war.

Although the fighters were relatively small, Albino still didn't like the idea of flying through an asteroid field. As far as he was concerned, they should have gotten a couple of ISDs to blow the place to high hell. but it wouldn't look good when it came to political prisoners. Albino surprised himself by slightly enjoying the ducking and weaving and barrel-rolling through the asteroid field, and was feeling quite childlike when they came to land on the asteroid they were looking for.

Albino slung the FA-3 flechette that came with the EVO suit over his shoulder and grabbed his TI-47 Sniper rifle. Albino loved showing off with the technical names of the things he used. He popped the hatch and jumped out of the TIE, staring down his scope and making a quick sweep of the area. Albino also quickly turned on the crosshairs linked to his wrist lasers. As Driver, Goth and Slasher split off and began to make their way across the desolate asteroid, Albino followed, with the intention of giving cover fire and holding their back.

by the time they were at the perimeter of the base, an explosion averted the attention of the four man party, and behind his visor, Albino smirked. That was the distraction, and judging by the shouts it had worked.

Albino spotted a couple of perimeter guards running towards them and quickly showed one the colour of his own brain. the other turned and tried to run, but slipped on the blood that was spraying everywhere and fell. Albino quickly unloaded. first into his back, right on his spinal cord, then in the back of his head. He then turned and caught up with the rest of them, who hadn't notice any of the goings on. So his silencer worked. He brought up the kill counter in his visor and put two marks under the letter A. G, D and S were all on 0

Coming out of hyperspace, the Anoatian space and asteroid fields came into view. Anoat looked like a hell-hole from orbit, so it was probably an obvious hot spot for pirates to carry out secretive operations undisturbed. Course, they probably never thought of the VEN knocking at their door.

The asteroid pattern was unusual. The Asteriods, if you can call them that, floated freely, but they still stayed in Anoat's gravitational pull. So for, that was his biggest worry. Skrat didn't need to go home in a wooden box because some rogue asteroid hit him.

"Alright gents, welcome to our new paradise. Flights one and two, take the right flank of the belt while My flights three and four take to the left flank. Report anything that doesn't seem fit for the enviroment. Black Suns have survived this long and they damn well know how to keep a good eye out." Slasher said, giving a small but straight-to-the-point plan.

"Alright Goth, you hear him, lets take the left." Skrat messaged to his so far only other flight member.

"You got it Four. I'll take lead." Goth replied, moving in front of Skrat as the 4 flights ventured into the belly of an unforgiving beast.

Drac's text screen was the first thing he glanced at when his alarm woke him. At first it was blank, then about twenty seconds later a message appeared from Driver requesting a report from each pilot. The Mon Cal waited for his wingmen to report, then added, "Nazgul 9 is green; Three Flight is green."

Having finished that, Drac patted each of his weapons to reassure himself one last time of their positions, pulled on the commando fatigues he'd been issued, and took hold of the hyperspace lever. He watched the counter spin down...5...4...3..2...1...Now. He pulled it back, exiting smoothly from hyperspace.

A quick glance showed Three flight to be in good order, their formation unmarred by the decant. It also showed something else: an errant chunk of asteroid that'd been knocked out of the field...that happened to be heading their way. It was only about the size of a human, but that was plenty big enough to down an Avenger. He tapped out a quick text, hating the gag on communications, "Three Flight: Dive, evade incoming asteroid at your two o'clock."

The moment his finger tapped the send button his other hand twisted the controls and hurled the fighter down relative to the plane of the field. The other members of his flight followed, Albino wiggling his wings as he skittered around the incoming projectile. Mobarin made it too, though thankfully he tried no fancy moves. The danger now past, Drac led his flight back into position.

It took only another few seconds for the squadron to be ready, then the order came in from Driver to move out. The Petty Officer watched first One Flight, then Two Flight, enter the asteroid field before pushing his throttle up and taking Three Flight in. Sensors showed Slasher's Four Flight bringing up the rear.

Asteroid fields are treacherous waters. One never knows the currents. When you think you do they may quickly change and kill you. We must all be wary here. Drac mused as he dodged the first group of rocks. Here, at the edge of the field, the going was easy. There were large gaps, smaller and fewer rocks, and few or none hiding behind others. That would change soon though, as the squadron penetrated the field. Drac soon found himself twisting and turning his ship, keeping one eye on his front viewport and the other on his monitor in an attempt to spot incoming threats.

The difficulty of the task before Nazgul Squadron was compounded by the neccessity of complete stealth. Shooting a rock to clear a path wasn't an option if they wanted to make it to the target undiscovered. The only thing they had going for them was the fact that they entered Anoat's asteroid field from "upstream" of the target rock. This allowed the squadron to fly through the field in the same direction it was orbiting, appearing to be nothing more than a group of faster rocks bouncing through the area. Even then, it was hard and dangerous flying.

As they neared the target rock they entered an area of especially large obstacles. One of these loomed up before the Mon Cal, forcing him to pull up to fly around it. As he did he rotated into an Immelman, intending to skim around the rock. When he reached the highest point, though, he was met with another huge obstacle. This one was heading straight for the first, and a collision was imminent. Drac quickly rolled out to one side and, still on his side relative to the field, climbed away from the impending impact.

The rocks did hit, smashing into one another with collosal force. The smaller of the two, the second one to appear, cracked into several large pieces, while both were pulverized where they impacted. Fragments of rock blasted out in all directions, threatening everything in the area. Drac felt his ship lurch as one of the mid-sized rocks slammed into his shields. They drained to twenty percent and an alarm started screeching in his cockpit. He silenced it, happy that the rock hadn't been any bigger than it was. Then a new alarm started up...the Petty Officer gritted his teeth in annoyance as he shut it off too, then pulled up the reason on his screen. His shield generator was damaged. It would hold charge still, and would even recharge, but it couldn't recharge at more than half the normal rate. It was clear that another such impact woud kill him, and he felt his heart racing in his chest as fear tried to claw its way into a full-out panic.

Drac knew he couldn't allow himself to panic, so he checked the status of the rest of the squadron and Three Flight in specific. Some others were showing asteroid damage, though none so much as he. That was a relief.

Finally the squadron reached their target. Hunter quickly reported finding one of several possible landing sites they'd chosen before launch and Nazgul headed in: a sheltered flat area inside a cave in the huge rock, which would provide the best possible protection for their ships. After landing in good order they gathered on the surface. Driver and Slasher gathered the rest of their group and headed out as soon as they'd finished a final chrono-syncing and frequency check.

Drac watched them go for a moment, then turned to the rest of his own group. Their portion of the squadron would be providing a distraction, as well as doing as much sabotage damage as they could. They'd enter the base through one of the smaller caves branching off from this one, which should eventually lead them to an inhabited part of the base.

During the flight time in hyperspace, Goth had plenty of time to think, thanks to his leaving his study material on the 'Atrus'.
It was looking like another revenge run. That was fine with Goth. As with the SC, if Slash wanted revenge, Goth was sure going to see that he got it. Many other thoughts went through Goth's head, including the day his mother died.
Finally the time to drop out of hyper came. It couldn't come fast enough for Goth. Not because he was in a rush to join battle, but because his thoughts were troublesome.
As Nazgul came out of hyper Goth saw the asteroid field ahead. After doing a quick check of his scanners, He saw his wingman was with him, then he checked in.

'At least this time we made it to the hyper exit point without incedent.'

Goth thought to himself.
After everyone was accounted for, Wing 1 entered the asteroid field, moving toward their destination.
Keeping a strict formation proved impossible in the field, but everyone seemed to be sticking together well.

'Nazgul must really be the best.'

'Frag!'

Goth yelled out loud as an asteroid came flying by a little to close. Going into a High Speed Yo-Yo he managed to get by it.

'That was close.'

As he whipped, turned, and spun around more asteroids.
Goth was very unnerved, He always hated flying through asteroid fields.
Chancing a look at his TXT it was clear. Then after doing a Barrel Roll around a particularly large rock, he glanced at his scanners. It looked like everyone was still flying, thankfully.
Finally the pirate haven came into view, Checking his scanners again, Goth saw everyone in Nazgul was still alive, and maneuvered to land on the asteroid that was their target.
Once he landed Goth quicky unstrapped, then shed his flightsuit down to his fatigues. Then going behind his ejector seat he unstrapped his new blaster rifle, and left his spare DL-44 strapped in.

'Time to break you in.'

He said to the rifle, as he popped the hatch. Then he remembered the auto-mapper, and grabbed it out of his flightsuit. He had almost forgotten it.
Then he left the 'Bloody Dagger' locking her down before he joined the others.
Goth noticed the grav was light and the air was thin. Not that it mattered to him, but he wondered how it would effect the other Nazgul members.
As Nazgul split up, Goth took point for the strike team, and they started moving to the base perimeter.
Once there Goth double checked his new weapon. The safety was off and it was loaded and ready. Then he took the auto-mapper out and turned it on, and put it back into his pocket.Suddenly the expected explosion on the otherside of the base rocked the asteroid.
As the people in the area ran toward the explosion, Goth took a quick glance at Slash. He seemed tense with expectation.
When the general area was clear, the strike team swiftly moved in, quietly and cautiously. Goth continued taking point, keeping a close eye out for any straggler who might have to be delt with. An Alarm revealing their presence would just not do. Though if Slash was right, he at least was expected.

It didn't take long for the other group to disappear around the curve of the asteroid. As soon as they were gone the distraction team moved into the tunnel. They advanced through the darkness for a hundred meters, then came upon a place where the tunnel branched off into a handful of other paths.

When they got to the intersection Hunter caught Drac's eye and nodded. They stopped there, readying their attack. Hunter spoke first, "Ruwe, Catachan, and Darian: keep those tunnels locked down. We don't want to be ambushed." The pilots acknowledged the order and turned, covering the tunnels with their weapons as they listened in. Hunter continued, "Okay, Nazgul. We've got to provide a distraction for the strike team, but we need to damage this base as well. Best case scenario: we get the prisoners, we kill the base, and we get away. In order to do that we're going to hit several key locations. Now, we don't have intel on where these are located, but they're something every self respecting base has. Here's the list: hangars, command center, armory, shield generator, and lastly the atmospheric units."

Mobarin piped up then with a question, "Shield generator? We didn't detect one coming in, did we?"

Blinking, Drac replied, "No, we didn't. That doesn't mean they won't have one though. Odds are that they do but are keeping it off to decrease the chances of detection. There's the maintenance factor too: it's not worth it to run them all the time if they'll get beat on constantly by the other asteroids. Better to just let them hit the rock's surface."

Hunter continued, "We're not sure what order we'll find these locations in, but make sure you get the word out if you find one. Just remember, the atmospheric units go last. If possible, we want to hit the hangars first to prevent them launching more ships to patrol the system after we attack. Drac?"

Drac stepped forward, pulling a pouch from his belt and holding it up for everyone to see, "I've got explosives packed in here. I'll be handing them out as neccessary, as will Hunter. Here's how you use them: When you're ready to use a bomb, slide the chip I give you into the slot on the datascreen. After that just type in the number of minutes until the bomb should go off. To activate it, remove the chip. Just make sure you put the chip back in the bag or in some other place where you won't lose it. As to where we want to put these little beauties, there are two possibilities: One, support beams and critical intersections within the base. Two, anything that looks like it will blow a decent hole in the surrounding area."

The Mon Cal proceeded to hand out a chip to each pilot, but didn't hand out explosives, "We don't have an unlimited supply of these, so the Chief and I will hold onto them until we need to use them...Also, when we do, don't place them in an area with extreme heat. A lot of heat, even a blaster bolt, can set them off."

The group was equipped and ready, so Hunter sent them out, "I want three man teams to scout the first, second, and third tunnels starting on the left. Go two hundred yards unless you find something first. Maintain comm silence and report back here with what you find. Good luck."

It was the first mission that hit the young pilot Maumau as he gazed the Tie Avenger through the hangar.

"Maumau, report in" called his Commanding officer "now is not the time to be daydreaming".

"I'm sorry Sir" the pilot Maumau responded "Leading Crewman, ready". 'I'm going to need a miracle here' He thought  as he glanced back out through the hangar bay.

'I've got to stay focused, my squadron are depending on me' his mind almost quoting his flight instructor.
His droid unit seemed to mimic his thoughts, it strung together a series of bleeps and whistles telling him to keep his cool.
He looked back down at his controls, everything was green and good to go, now he just had to wait for the command.

The wait felt like an eternity, or perhaps that was just him replaying his life. He hadnt always had things easy,
in fact many would say he had the opposite of that, but looking back, there was nothing he could complain about.
Staring at Tie Avenger in front of him, he began to realise just how much his life meant which he had to face later.

"Hangar 2, Hangar 2, this is command." Called a voice that resounded throughout the ship "Fighters, scramble, you may engage at will, keep asteroids destroy and move towards your mission objective fast and sharp!.

"You heard the order." Echoed the Commanding officer "Nazgul group, you will lead us out."

'This is it' Thought Maumau, ' Time to take this rescue mission'. The aged fighter creaked slightly as it lifted off,
the pilot tilted his nose towards the hangar exit. He increased the throttle, moving the ship forwards. The closer he got  to the exit the more he feel nervous. As his ship passed through the field, only one thought passed  his mind 'Be alert'.

Maumau is out in the asteroid field, on searching for the base. He’s looking pretty bored, and taking shots at passing asteroids to kill time.
After a few seconds, a small asteroids whips by, fires a few shots, and then tries to get away. Maumau takes off in hot pursuit, dipping and diving around asteroids, and slowly gaining on the direction. He’s almost in range, as his Tie Avenger turns sharply behind a very large asteroid.Maumau pulling at top speed…

As he comes around the asteroid, he sees a large number asteroids approaching, lasers all ready to shoot on his ship. He slams on the brakes (reverse thrusters), and comes to a halt face to face with small asteroids.

Maumau is flying for his life. Dipping and diving around asteroids, trying to keep those old rocks from getting a clear  shot (very fast action, and intense strengh here). He’s firing back at those rocks approaching as he can, but they still keep coming. Soon after the escape, a voice comes over his intercom:

“Attention all pilots: We just got another report that the  base will be further away from the asteroids field, in the meantime they are more asteroids to avoid.Maumau dipping and diving his Tie Avenger flawlessly.

Second post! (Will lengthen it soon...ish) I think I'm part of the distraction team so...

Stewart-Power's heart thudded in his chest, not out of fear, but anticipation. His time on Trandosha taught him many things, one of them was to take on situations as they came and shape things as they where happening. Another was that he more often then not, He referred to himself as Thel. Thel is is what Thain (one of Thel's only friends) called him.

Now it as Thel crept though the various hallways and caves that led to the the heart of the asteroid complex, he remembered crawling though caves and swimming through underwater trenches , on Trandosha and Dac respectively. Of course then he just hunting creatures with his bolt rifle (which he used as a sniper) and the feeling was much different.

===In the Armoury before departing the Hanger===
Thel browsed through the armoury in order to see what was available. What he really wanted was some sort of long range blaster rifle but the closest thing they had was sort of ion carbine, Thel decided in wouldn't do, so he simply picked a blaster and a knife. It was a SR combat Pistol Thel decided that he could use it to compliment his current side-arm, a DL-44 blaster pistol. H also chose a knife roughly the size on a small axe, for any close range or any amount of situations where a good hacking knife was needed.

If you have it you won't need it

This saying always amused Thel but through experience, this has almost never been the case. He had been in enough situations before, and could usually judge what would be needed. Thel desperately hoped he wouldn't be fatally wrong.

===Anoat System, Asteroid Complex===

He was comparing the different attributes of hunting in a pair and with a squad of other people. Thel kept contemplating until he almost walked into a wall. After quickly correcting his direction and looking sheepishly around, Thel realized that he was straggling.

After catching up with the rest of his group, and thankfully realizing that the others most likely couldn't read the embarrassed look that had registered on Thel's face He once again fell back in step with the others.

Slasher scanned side to side with his blaster as he moved slowly through the base camp, it was very quiet, eerily quiet, and he doesn't like it. He turns to look at Driver, Albino, and Goth, they were also moving with him, their weapons out and scanning the area, expecting an attack at any moment.

==Diversion Team==

Hunter turns to the pilots under his command, looking them over he thinks about what is the best way for them to exit the tunnel into the enemy base camp, he has 7 pilots under his command, Drac, Catachan, Ruwe, DarianRogue, Mobarin, maumau, and Stewart-Power. Quickly making his choices, he says, “Drac, you take Catachan, Mobarin, and maumau, when we enter the base camp, your going to take the right flank, I'm going to take Ruwe, DR, and Stewart-Power, we'll take the left flank.”

As everyone nods in confirmation of their orders, Hunter says “Remember, our goal is to cause a lot of trouble, normally we're supposed to avoid collateral damage, today, that is our goal.”

“Yes Sir!”

“Good, make ready.”

==Strike Team==

Nearing the location of the first objective building, Driver signals to Slasher to take Albino and go one way around the building, while he and Goth enter the building from the other side.

Slasher loads a knockout dart into the launcher on his S-5, and making sure that his various other weapons are loose in their holsters, and nodding to Albino, the two of them open the door to the building and Slasher tosses in a smoke grenade, they follow it soon after, scanning the area, they see nothing immediately, and Slasher signals Albino to cover him while he advances, receiving a confirming nod from Albino, Slasher moves down the hallway, stopping just before each door to scan the area, making sure that there are no nasty surprises waiting for him. Reaching the third set of doors in the Hallway, with just one more set between him and a single door at the end of the hall, Albino is behind him, ready to provide covering fire should something go wrong.

This is to easy...

Slasher looks up toward the end of the hall as he hears a swishing sound.

...

==Strike Team Goth and Driver==

Goth and Driver enter the building from the other side, they find themselves at the end of a short hallway (about 20 meters long) with a single door at the other end, frowning, Driver motions to Goth to ready his weapon, and the two of them proceed down the hall toward the door, it opens at their approach.
As the two of them look around, they see that they are in a medium sized mess hall of sorts, which might double as a briefing room, with about 10 long tables set up in rows 2 wide, with chairs on only one side of the tables, facing a raised area at the end of the hall, which would probably been used by those giving the briefings.

The two of them turn back towards the door, having found themselves at a dead end, since there are no other exits out of the room.

==Distraction team==

Hunter-Morrell takes one last look around at the team with him, and after getting a nod from Drac confirming the readiness of his part of the team. Nodding once Hunter raises his arm, and points toward  the end of the tunnel, and the enemy waiting there,

“Let's MOVE!”

Nazgul charges up the Tunnel, weapons raised, ready for just about anything.

==Strike Team Slasher and Albino==

As Slasher looks back toward the swishing sound, he sees the door at the end of the hall slide open, and a bunch of pirates charge out, firing at Albino and Slasher, he returns fire, striking one, and all of a sudden he hears Albino yell from one set of doors back,

“Slash, there is a room back here, looks like we could take cover in there, and hold them back for a while.”

“Copy, Cover me, 10”

Albino increases the rate of his fire down the hall as Slasher moves, running back down the hallway, and diving through the door behind Albino.
As he moves, Slasher notices that the Pirates attacking them are rushing to put on various self-contained breathing apparatuses, and although he doesn't have time to think about what they are doing, he unconsciously mirrors their movements, activating his own air supply as he moves. He sees Albino do the same as he follows him into the room, grabbing whatever comes to hand and beginning to barricade the entrance against any enemy attack.

==Strike Team Goth and Driver==

As Goth and Driver turn back toward the entrance, they see a group of men entering, they can't tell behind the breathing units what they look like, but the blasters they level at the two pilots look decidedly unfriendly. Goth hits the locking panel for the door, and moves to help Driver to flip some of the tables around there on edge to give them some cover against the enemy attack.

==Distraction Team==

The Distraction team charges forward, starting to head out of the tunnel, all of a sudden a projectile flies over their heads from the opposite direction, hitting the roof of the tunnel behind them, and causing a cave in.

“Take cover!” Hunter yells, looking around for the source of the projectile as the distraction team fans out, taking cover among the ruins from the cave in. As they take cover, they hear the unmistakable sound of an E-Web blaster firing, and then Hunter realizes that the air is getting thinner, and he turns to the rest of his group and yells, “Switch to your air, their atmospheric containment is breached!”

It took a few minutes for them to all gather behind a wall that had been erected some time before. It was cracked slightly in several places and had a worn look to it.

“If we’re lucky, they don’t have an air supply like we do. Even one as limited as ours.” Darian said, looking balefully in the direction of the E-Webs.

“But we aren’t that lucky. Not by a long shot. We’ll have to make our own luck. Any ideas?” Hunter said, even though he was already forming a plan in his head.

As he looked around at the silent group, another E-Web opened up on their cover. Hunter was slightly alarmed as bits and pieces started to chip of the top and fall down on them.

“We’ve got to take out those E-Webs before they overwhelm us. We need a distraction which will allow a few of us to slowly sneak up on them. Any volunteers for the distraction?” Hunter said, smirking mirthfully as a pained look come upon the face of each one of the Nazguls, except for Drac, who sighed and nodded to Hunter.

“Looks as if we do. I’ll take Darian and Catachan with me while Drac takes the rest of you for the distraction. By my count there are two E-Webs currently up there. If we can take out the gunners, we can keep the E-Webs for ourselves. I’ll leave you to figure out what kind of distraction you want to use, Drac.” Hunter said quickly, looking up at the wall as slightly larger pieces started to fall.

As Drac’s group ran across the cavern in an attempt to draw the fire, Hunter tried to recall all he knew about E-Webs, which wasn’t much. He knew that they were operated by two people and that they took a while to set up. They were prone to overheating which could be a crucial factor in the upcoming fight. Looking up, he saw that Drac’s group had reached the other side of the cavern and had taken cover behind a large pile of rocks. This allowed them to shoot through holes between the rocks, giving them more cover and drastically lowering their chances of being hit.

We need to get close enough that we can hit them, but not too close because they could easily pick us off or send troops out to get us.

Peeking around the corner, he saw two E-Webs set up about twenty feet apart. Smiling, he saw that there weren’t but one person per E-Web.

Perfect. They won’t be able to operate at maximum efficiency without that second person. But it’s also bad because that means we haven’t drawn enough attention to be worth the time of more than a few troops. Well, it’s time to change that.

Turning to Catachan and Darian, he told them what he saw.

“What we need to do is to take the long way around, hugging the wall to stay out of their line of site. If we can get behind them, we can take one of them out without alerting the other. Lets go.” Hunter said, moving off.

Drac dove behind a wall along with the rest of Nazgul's distraction team as first one, then a second, E-web opened up on them. Having gained decent cover his mind flicked to the last skirmish, the one that had likely warned the pirates that they were coming this way, and made a quick mental note: After all this is over, Skrat and I are having a heart-to-heart about just why it is that you keep your mouth shut on covert ops. He knew, though, that they likely would have been discovered seconds later anyway.

Tuning back into what Hunter was saying, Drac caught the drift of the XO's thoughts and added two and two together. The distraction group would need a leader, and he had no long range weaponry on him. It made sense, so when Hunter called for volunteers Drac just took a deep breath and stepped up.

As the two groups got ready to move, the Mon Cal peeked out from behind the wall and spotted a cluster of rocks not too far away. There was decent cover on the way over, so he chose it as their new home. Turning his head back, he checked on his portion: Ruwe was there, as were MauMau, Stewart-Power, and the other new pilots. He waved them up, then pointed out the cluster of rocks, "Map yourself out a route to those boulders and prepare to provide your own cover fire on the way."

As the others did as he'd said, Drac kneeled and fiddled with something he held in his hands. When he finished he looked up, stood with hands empty of all but his blaster, nodded to Hunter, and pointed Ruwe forward. The wookie was an excellent natural distraction, bellowing as he ran and fired over his shoulder. The rest followed, emulating the more experienced pilot's example. Drac exited the wall last, staggering his speed and direction in an effort to dodge the energy bolts flying past all around him

As Drac dove into the rocks, several things happened. First, Hunter and the others dropped back to some other cover and began working their way around. Second, the wall suddenly exploded in a spectacular cloud of dirt and debris. The blast effectively masked the assault group's movement and led the pirates to beieve them dead. In their arrogance they assumed their shots had killed several of the pilots and had set off a grenade on one of the bodies. They turned their fire to Drac's group.

Sheltered by the rocks, Drac sat nursing an injured knee. The speed of his arrival had precluded much care in choosing a spot to land, resulting in a good bruise but no serious damage.  He inspected the boulders from this angle, pleased at what he found. These would provide an excellent fort from which to fight, "Ruwe, MauMau, and Stewart: You three find some firing positions and lay down some energy. Everyone else, take some shots but try to conserve your ammo..." He would have said more, but more blaster bolts from a new source cut off his words. The Mon Cal was forced to duck and roll behind a much smaller rock. It seemed that the pirates had realized how ideal this position was too, and weren't willing to waste their time in an ineffective attack, "Sithspit! Okay...looks like there're five of them. Hold on!" Pushing himself up on one arm, Drac braced his right hand on the rock and fired before dopping back to the dirt, "Make that four. Anyone got a grenade?" Meanwhile one of the attacking pirates, a Twi'lek, slumped forward over a rock with a hole burned in his chest.

Drac pushed up again, firing a quick burst that put the pirates' heads down, "Yell if you need cover fire! I've got all the ammo I'll ever want!"

As the Petty Officer settled back into his cover he shifted uncomfortably. Something ridged was cutting into his chest. The area also seemed unreasonably hot. He scooted back, seeing for the first time a small vent -colored to match the rock around it- that was emitting heat. He pulled out his boot knife and pried it up, peering through the other half to see what could be seen.

Just what I wanted. A hangar. The base's hangars, like most non-atmospheric ones, were under ground for protection. They were also heated by the equipment within, making vents neccessary. The problem with that, of course, is that said vents must be near said equipment. Of course, no one anticipates a crazy Mon Calamari carrying bombs to lay down on the hidden vent. Ah well, their loss. Pulling his explosives sack open a second time, he connected three of the bombs, set them for three minutes, and threw them down the vent. They knocked the second grate out on impact and proceeded to bounce down into a tangle of fuel lines, repair equipment, and sundry other flammables.

Drac rolled back out of his cover, loudly motioning everyone forward, "Charge that attack group! Push them so we have room! We've got three minutes to get at least forty meters from this spot, or we're never leaving!" The biggest problem with that, of course, was the sparse cover in front of them. They'd have to cross all of those forty meters before they found anything big enough to shelter them...the same bunch of rocks from which the pirate attack group was now firing at them. Those men would have to die before the Nazguls could get out of the blast radius. But what better way to make a distraction? It's already been too long. We should have detonated our first distraction bomb five minutes ago. Hopefully the delay won't hurt Driver and his bunch.

Albino smiled wickedly to himself as he dropped a pirate to one knee, also causing him to break cover, and was about to finish the scum when a bolt from over his shoulder popped his head like a water balloon. Slasher smiled to himself slightly, then returned his visage to its usual look when Albino glanced over his shoulder. Albino let out an aggravated growl and stood up to one knee, pumping three shots into the craniums of three pirates. Albino returned to his prone position.

"The distraction doesn't seem to have fooled them, sir. more and more keep coming, we may get overrun."
commented Albino.

this was met by a nod from Slasher, who then quickly dispatched another three men that were coming through the door on the other side. By this pint the pirates had stopped trying to push forward and were massing in the rooms on either side of the corridor. Albino adjusted his scope slightly and took another pop at a pirate's kneecap, dropping him to the floor and spilling him out into the corridor. This time Albino got the kill.

Albino and Slasher lay at the open doorway, behind a small barricade on the end of the corridor for what seemed like an age, picking off any newcomers and some of the Pirates that were lurking in the other doorways on either side of the corridor. A large, congealed, dark red spray had appeared on the far wall, and on the opposite door from where Albino's slugthrower had been popping skulls.

After drilling a hole in the eye of yet another foolish pirate, who had decided to peek around the corner, Albino revealed to Slasher that there was a noticeable lack of pirates coming through the door now. Slasher had noticed this too and between them they decided to move and try to link up with Goth and Driver.

"Lack of reinforcements means one of Three things" Albino whispered knowledgeably "Either the distraction has worked, They are setting up an ambush further ahead or we are being flanked. They all give us some breathing room for a short while"

Slasher nodded and then jumped out of cover, to albino's surprise and began quickly picking off many pirates. this also surprised quite a few pirates, and as they flicked out of cover to make a shot, Albino beat them to it. after dispatching all of the pirates who were here, and there were less than Albino thought, the two of them grabbed some breathing equipment from the corpses, and clipped them on to Albino's Armour, in case their own oxygen ran too low.

Albino looks at Slasher as they exited the place they had been holed up in, and pauses for a moment.

"Slasher, um... well, I've heard that some Falleen can live for nearly 300 years, and, well, how old are you... Sir?

Slasher turned and looked at the Senior crewman, trying to hide a smirk and replied

"I'll tell you later"

This provoked a smirk from Albino as they pressed on further into the base

===Moments before Drac threw the explosives===
As Stewart-Power dived for cover, he hit the ground hard. The adrenaline made sure that he didn't feel a thing at the moment. He had enough experience to tell he was going to pay for that later. In the seconds that the E-Web had concentrated on him, MauMau and Ruwe, Drac used that time to his advantage and downed the pirate closest to him.

Just as he had recovered enough to crouch and return fire, a pirate jumped from his cover and pinned him down. After struggling with the pirate, he finally managed to grab the pirate’s wrist and twist. The blaster fell out of his hand, but the pirate then used his fixed concentration to punch him in the head. Temporally stunned, he glimpsed a flash, a bolt of red, and then the pirate slumped over minus his head. He flung the body of him and resumed crouching, this time he kept his head down.

"I owe ya' one, MauMau!" Thel yelled over the blaster fire.

MauMau had positioned himself behind Thel and had a perfect shot at the pirate who attacked him. Ruwe took advantage of the fact that an E-Web was momentarily distracted and took a shot. The bolt hit the pirate on the E-Web in the knee, and although it didn't stop the pirate, it did turn down the turning speed of the E-Web.

As he herd Drac yell to press forward, Thel hesitated just a moment. He had two options, Charge straight at the pirates covering as much ground as possible, and hoping to the force that he didn't get hit. Or he could roll from his cover and lay down cover fire and trying to take out the gunners as he advanced. He would of ran if he had a automatic rifle, or machine gun, but a blaster just couldn't fill those rolls. He could still roll out and attempt to snipe but his DL-44 definitely couldn't, and the SR Combat Pistol on his back just didn't have the range.

The only other sensible thing Thel could think of was to jog toward them pinning them down with his DL-44 and a few well placed grenades. The only problem was that he only had two thermal, and he wasn't that proficient in throwing them. He could either use or grenade for each turret or two grenades for one. Thel was running out of time as e decided he would chose as he was charging.

The moment came for Thel to take a deep breath, shoot a few times over head, and charge. The bravest Nazgul members went first, followed by those emboldened by the sight of there fellow pilots charging, and last came those who decided to take the roll of sniper.

Two feet into the charge, part of Thel's fatigues got snagged on a protruding piece of  metal. As he crashed to the ground, he had to roll before a burst of fire sizzled the deck where he was a moment ago. At the halfway point most of Nazgul was relatively unscathed. The sudden charge had caught them by surprise and the turrets almost had cooled by the time the pirates reacted, unfortunately for Nazgul, almost. Thel was in near the front of the charge, and only had ten feet to go, when an explosion from behind him launched him into the air, where he smashed into the rock lip beneath the turrets were, and was knocked unconscious.

As the strike team moved through the base, things are way to quiet.

When they reached their first objective, the team split into two man teams. Goth and Driver took the front, and Slash and Albino took the back.

With things so quiet, Goth was getting a bad feeling. It didn't matter though, they had a job to do. But things were going to easy, he didn't like it.
Entering the building, Goth and Driver follow a hallway leading into a briefing room.
Finding it a dead end, they turned to go back, and saw men entering the hallway from the other end (all wearing breathing units). Goth who was closest to the door hit the lock panel, then helped flip some tables over in the room for cover.Noticing the air apparatus on the enemy, Goth ran back to the lock panel. Standing next to the door he could hear pounding on the other side.
Pulling his vibro-knife from its wrist sheath, Goth saw Driver looking at him questioningly. Without a word, Goth opened the door.
As the door opened Goth grabbed the nearest man there and flung him into the room. He was dead in an instant as Driver shot him down.
Then Goth buried his vibro-knife into another and flung the corpse into the room, with blaster fire flying by.
Goth hit the door panel re-locking the door. As it slid shut, Goth watched two more pirates go down from Driver's covering fire.
Goth grabbed the breathing units from the corpses, throwing one to his SC.

'It they're wearing these, we are going to need them, sir.'

Goth said.
Driver nodded and said,

'Good work.'

Goth was trying to think, but the intruder alarm was distracting him. So, firing his new M-5 for the first time he blasted it.
Then an even bigger explosion than the first rocked the asteroid. The explosion left yet another crater to the asteroids surface. and sent up a small chunk of the asteroid spinning into the asteroid field. More than a few craters around the base lit up for a moment.
Goth was thrown to the floor by the quake, while the SC was still down on one knee behind the tables. Goth was feeling lightheaded, so he put on his air mask. Then got to his feet.
As he ran back to the door controls, Goth looked at G,

'The distraction team is doing good.'

And smiled.
Then suddenly he opened the door and five pirates were standing in the doorway. Driver opened fire as the door was opening and took out one before it completely was.
Goth also opened fire with his M-5. Blasting someone he knew. Who definitely recognized him. ''A tale that would never be told.'
Three shots hit the table in front of Driver, and the one aimed a Goth was way off, thanks to the SC's crack shooting.
The Nazgul team both took out the other two before the pirates could get another shot off.

'That's five for the SC, and three for Goth.'

The SC jumped over the table and they moved into the hall.

==After the briefing before the mission==
Edgar was resting at his quarters and was thinking how it wold all worked out.He was nervous and didn't know if he could work in a team after his days before joining the navy.Edgar was remembering all his friends on that day and that this may be one of those pirates who shot them down it was a chance he couldn't miss.

Edgar has slept a little before the mission after some time he awaken and got the message that all the pilots need to report for the mission.

Edgar went to the hangar fast and got in his Tie Fighter. He started his starfighter and was flying close to his leader. It wasn't long untill they entered hyperspace.Edgar rested a little since the starfighter was on autopilot.

After they came out of hyperspace Edgar started evading the asteroids like some other pilots did aswell.

It wasn't long until the leader said he found a landing site and Edgar landed with everyone else.

Everyone split up and Edgar was with the distraction team.He followed everyone else into those dark hallways of the asteroid the team has stopped as Hunter started to tell the briefing and Drac started to give out the chips.

The team has charged down the tunnel  but were ambushed by projictiles Edgar quickly found cover and took out his blaster gun. They divided again and now Edgar went with Drac to continue the distraction.

Drac has looked over the corner and motioned everyone to move forward the more experienced pilots moved first Edgar was somewhere in the middle.

While the pirates were shooting at them a wall has collapsed on Drac's leg.He still could walk since it was seemed only as a bruise.

Drac ordered everyone to shoot but to preserve they're ammo.Edgar shot from his blaster gun but it just didn't have the range to shoot anyone. So he didn't lose time.

After some time of waiting and covering from shooting Drac ordered everyone to push the pirates Edgar was one of the first ones to do that as he was shooting at the pirates with anger at his eyes.

It wasn't long until  he took some cover from the fire and heard an explosion he didn't know why it was just instinct but he ran from all his power but he still got knocked out by the radius of the explosion.

===Before the briefing===

Rocket woke up in a room to his right he saw a monitor with his heart rate on it and other information on it.  Rocket sat up and saw a file on the desk next to the bed he was put in.  On the file it read reassiment.

Well I guess I have been in here longer than I thought.  I wonder how I got here in the first place last thing I rember is talking to Stormz and then I told him I was gonna help him with his droid I guess I must have tripped on the way back to the barracks.

Rocket opens up the file to see who his new squadron is.

==Reassiment

Hale Fireforge you have been put on recovery status until such time to as to when you are ready to go to active duty when such time comes you will be assigned to Nazgul Squadron.

End Report==

Rocket could not believe he had been reassigned to another squadron again. He was just starting to get used to being in Kaph.

Well at least it won't be that hard this time.

===After the briefing===

Rocket starts to head to Nazgul's barracks so he can start getting ready for the mission ahead.

Well at least I know what I need to do on this mission. I know that I need frags and decent amount of clips and a knife well I at least have time to plan.

Rocket gets to the barracks and gets all of his equipment together which includes eight frags and clips.

I will never be unprepared for a mission again.

===At the hanger just before the start of the mission===

Rocket just looks at the Tie Avenger after five minutes he decides to go over his preflight checks and all of his other systems so he knows every thing works.

"Nazgul squadron get ready for launch"

This is Nazgul 1-2 ready for launch.

===At the Asteroid Belt===

Rocket comes out of hyper ready to go he ducks, swerves, loops, and dives to avoid asteroids and debre. He follows the rest of Flight One until they land. Once they land he follows everybody once they get to the tunnels he does a quick check to see if everyone made it.

Good at least everyone is still there let's just hope it stays that way. Becuse I don't want to see anybody get left.

When he heard the shot he squzeed off the trigger three times in the direction the shot came from to confuse the enemy and took cover behind a rock that was not much bigger of his height in the kneeing position. And starts to look for everyone else. He find a couple off people that he remembers seeing and decides to sprint to their cover and follows their plan.  When he heard the order for the charge it took him a couple of seconds to figure out what to do but he took off blasting at the enemy as he did to provide coveeing fire to the rest of the squadren.
He went to a full sprint and took cover behind a rock and contiud laying down covering fire.
