Training; Heavy Weapons
Story one: Fire support Tactics.

Nick Draxen was ready to begin his Heavy weapons part of training. He entered the training area. It  was a large field, covered with grass with trees in the distance. He looked across the field and saw no one present except a glimpse in the corner of his eye. To his right, a large AT-ST was approaching his direction. Quickly, he jumped towards a nearby pile of rocks to avoid detection. He moved his way across the rocks as the AT-ST passed him. As it continued marching across the area, a large blast flew towards the Walker. Bang! The AT-ST Crashed into the ground.

''There you are! Ive been looking for you. That was the last of the droid controlled At-Sts. Now time for  training.'' A man Donned in Armor walked towards Nick. ''Ill be your instructor for today. Youll be learning about heavy weapons; how to use them and when to use them. Remain calm, and victory will be yours.''
He gave Nick a Blaster Rifle, along with some Ion Grenades. ''These, of course are just for your training, and i will require you to return them to me afterwards.''

Nick armed himself with the Rifle, and kept the grenades to his side. ''Awaiting orders, Sir.''

The Instructor then pointed to severely damaged AT-ST just over the hill. ''Take that one out, but be careful of the dangers along the path.'' The Instructor had a weary tone when he said that. Nick did not understand him. How could that old heap of scrap metal be dangerous ? Nick entered the small forestry of trees leading to the damaged walker. As he made his way through, he watched as a blaster bolt almost  caught him in the foot. He looked back up to see a large number of droids charge towards him, aiming directly towards him. Nick hid behind the nearest tree and pulled the trigger of his blaster rifle, but nothing happened. He then looked at the ammo and saw that it was empty.

''There must be some way i can repel them.'' Nick looked around as he said this, trying to find some sort of help. Then, he saw a Repeating Rifle down the path infront of him. He noticed it before, but didn't think it would be needed. He made a spirited attempt to reach it. The droids, persueing him as he did this, continued to fire at him before he reached the the blaster.. Luckily, their aim wasnt that good as the trees and plants blocked them from gaining clear view.

The upper hand was eventually gained when Nick finally reached the the Blaster rifle.. He realized that it was ready to be used, so he used it. Blowing the group of Droids into small parts which any scavenger would love to have. After a while, the droids were nothing more than a junkyard. Remembering his task, he continued his way to the nearly destroyed walker. One at a time, he hurled grenades onto the AT-ST. The AT-ST eventually gave out and a large explosion was heard as it fall to the ground.

''Target found.'' Nick heard this as mechanical voices were heard near his area. He noticed what had just transpired: By destroying the walker, he allowed the droids to know where he was. '' Alright, now time for the next part. '' The instructor appeared behind Nick, as he was watching Nicks progress in the shadows the whole time.
'' Well, now its time to do some team based tactics. '' The instructer then turned around as another recruit appeared along with him. '' This young man here is going to assist us in the droids termination.''

Nick, the unnamed recruit and the Instructor equipped their Blaster Rifles, with real ammo this time. They then took cover along the trees and grass. They were set in a triangular formation, intending to trap the droid squad within their triangle. The droids made their way into the trap, not knowing of what was progressing. They stopped full in their tracks, looking for their targets. Then, hell was unleashed. Both squads exchanged fire. '' Nick, im going to move in close, cover my position.'' The instructor ordered.

The instructor made his way to the back of the droid squad. Nick moved along with him, firing at them to give the instructor a chance. The droids, despite seeming to have no skill, were a bit harder to deal with than the droids from earlier. The instructor reached the back, and decimated them from behind. Nick then moved in, followed by the other trooper. As blasts flew through the air, the droids were no more.

The trio moved in the open area. '' Nick, that was amazing. I am sure you will be a great soldier one day. Youve passed the tests, good luck in the future.'' Nick thanked the instructor as he left the area, along with the other private.

Nick, tired from his training, departed his weapons and went back to the base.

PFC Nick Draxen
              Paladin Squad.
              Heavy weapons training.
              Course 2: indirect Fire support.

Nick Draxen begins preparing for his next task in training. Yesterday, he had overcome large amounts of droids with the use of cover and squad based tactics. As much as he enjoyed it, he was
exhausted when it was all over. He could hardly wait to feel the taste of combat once again. He got his equiptment and everything else he would need and then headed towards the Heavy weapons Facility. There was a transport ship, ready to pick him up.

Nick walked towards the transport ship, donned in his stormtrooper armor. He then proceeded up the ramp, followed by others who were going to the training area as well. They appeared younger and older than them. Some of them even looked like they were just children. Draxen took notice of this as the Ramp extracted and the doors closed.

''Gentlemen, we will be approaching shortly. I suggest you properly equip yourselves.'' Said a voice coming from the cockpit. Draxen checked up on his blaster rifle. He wasnt sure if he would need this, but he brought it along just in case. The passengers didnt speak much. They were focused on their training more than a conversation. Nick however, knew that they would have to be on good terms in order to properly work together. Nick closed his eyes,  and tried to gain some rest while enjoying the peace and quiet. He had woken up early to do some training of his own. The only problem was that he didnt have much time to rest.

'' Ladies and gentlemen, we have arrived!'' The Pilot exclaimed. There seemed to be a problem with the audio, because when the pilot spoke through the microphone, he almost destroyed Nicks eardrum.

Nick stayed seated while the others immediately got up from their seats. The the impact from the landing caused them to slightly stagger, or for some of them, fall. Nick was the only one who had stayed safely in the seat, strapped down with his rifle.
The doors opened up and Nick went down the ramp along with the other Privates. Waiting for them was the instructor, armed and ready for action.

'' Greetings, i am Instructor Brock. On this fine day, you will be trained in the operation of Artillery and weapon emplacements. Let me give you a small summary on this. See, Artillery is heavy weaponry which is disigned for tasks normal weapons wouldnt be capable of. They can be used to destroy large objects such as buildings, vehicles, or even ships. For those of you who might not understand what I mean, you will understand in a while.''

Nick carefully listened to the instructors words. He understood what he meant completely. Draxen hoped the objective would be challenging.  ''Im going to position each one of you into those Heavy turrets. Do that, and i will explain the rest.''

Nick moved towards the nearest turret. Everyone tried to start it up on their own but they all failed on their attempts. The instructor then moved towards each person, telling them what to do to get the turret systems online. It took a while for the information to sink in but everyone including Nick Draxen understood it. ''Its actually quite simple.'' Said the Instructor.

Next was the fun part: Target Practice.

'' Now, targets will be placed infront of you, individually.'' Instructor Brock pointed to the target signs. Large targets were posted infront of the turrets. They were quite a couple of meters away, but Nick was sure he would be able to hit it and succeed.

THe 'Battle' then started. The heavy turrets aimed at the targets and unleashed a hurricane of blasts towards them. It was a bit more difficult than everyone thought it would be. Some of the younger members turned it into a competition against eachother. Nick, along with some others knew that they would need patience and practice to succeed. So they took slow but accurate blasts at the targets. The instructor made impressed facial expressions to some and dissapointing facial expressions to others. Nick wasn't quite sure if the instructor approved of him. He thought he simply received an ''okay'' .

After a while, the Instructor signalled for everyone to stop what they were doing (In this case, firing massive amounts but not hitting anything but the wall). Brock walked towards the targets,  examining to see how everyone did. Brock Seemed to be pleased with everyones attempts. ''Well, this was a good start, you all have done a good job. There is always room for improvement, however.''

Nick and the other Privates then exchanged salutes with the Instructor. The youngest guys did a small parade of cheers, bringing joy to the others.

After their little celebration, they entered the transport ship and flew back to their posts. Nick had completed his second task in heavy weapons training, and he was quite proud of it.

The transport landed once again, departing the Privates so they could rest after their training session. Nick waited, prepared for another day of training in the future.

It was another day of hard work to accomplish skill. At least, thats what Private Draxen had thought the day would turn out to be. He was to start another heavy weapons training exercise. Like all the other days, he knew it wouldn't exactly be a peice of cake(Or a walk in the woods, like in his first task). He did some stretches and exercises while waiting for the training routine to start up.
A voice was then heard through the Comm. ''Greetings, Private. The precision training will now commence. Please grab the blaster pistol to the right of the room and face the window infront of you.''

Nick did what he was instructed to do and aimed the pistol upwards toward the window. Sounds of machines operating began to surface. The window opened up. Through the window, Draxen could see another room with the precision targets being lowered. ''Your task is to shoot through the center of the targets as many times as possible before time runs out.'' -A couple of seconds passed- ''Initiate drill.''

A Target quickly appeared in the room. Nick aimed at the first target quickly. It gave him quite a shock at first, causing him to hit the top of it rather than the center. The target then rised up and another one deployed. Nick shot through it, close to the center. This one rised up slower than the other but a new one deployed even quicker. Nick focused his concentration onto the third and shot it in the dead center. Instead of rising up, this one crumbled right to the floor. Nick then realized in order to succeed he would have to destroy the targets, not just shoot them. The first target then deployed back down. Nick aimed at it, still missing the dead center. It raised up slowly, and the second target came down. Nick shot this one and missed once again.  ''Concentrate more. You are getting a good idea of what to do.'' A voice said through the Comlink.

The second target raised up and came back down. This trick didnt confuse Draxen, instead he shot it right through the target center.
''Two down, one to go.'' Nick checked his ammo as the final target came down. It took him a while to notice that. He quickly raised his pistol, concentrated on the tip and the targets center, and pulled the trigger. The final target crashed into the ground.

''Pistol training complete. Rating= 7/10''

Nick proceeded back to the bench possessing weaponry. He placed the blaster pistol down to the ground.

''Next Objective; Destroy the targets using a Blaster Rifle.''

Nick picked up the Rifle and moved back in spot. He wondered how much of a difference it would make if he used a rifle instead of a pistol. He prepared himself as the first target lowed, far in the corner to the side. He failed this time, unable to hit it at that kind of angle and distance. The second one deployed dead ahead of him. He aimed and shot it in the center. A Perfect shot. Two more remained, but they gave him more trouble than ever. The targets took turns confusing him. Nick was getting annoyed but he tried to keep his cool.

After about 7 tries each, he had destroyed them all. Nick was positive that the weapon he decided to use did make a difference. ''I hope the next weapon will be better.'' Nick muttered under his breath. ''Rifle Training complete. Rating= 6/10.''

Nick got the idea this wasnt going to look good on his training reports.
''Final Objective; Destroy the targets using a Sniper Rifle.''
Nick liked the sound of that. He moved back to the bench, laid down his rifle and picked up the sniper rifle. It had a similarity to the previous weapon, except it had a long point and a large targeting scope. Nick kept calm, trying to focus on when the targets would deploy and when he should fire. He put himself back into a proper position, this time leaning the tip of the sniper rifle onto the ledge.

The First target deployed in a flash. Nick fired at it, hitting it in the center. It raised up as a new one deployed. Nick had hit the side of it, near the center but not close enough. It raised up and the final target deployed. Nick fired at it, hitting the center. Strangely, the target he had missed did not lower again. He assumed this was because he hit it close enough, or he only got three tries with a sniper rifle.

'' Sniper training complete. Rating=8.5/10. Total score= 7.5/10''

Nick was proud of how well he did, but he wasnt sure if the calculations were correct, he didnt think it would be wise to question a droids calculations anyway.

'' That is the end of the training course today, Private. You are rated slightly above average.'' You will be contacted later this week to proceed further instructions.''

Nick placed his weapon down at the bench, made a salute to whoever was watching him and left the training area. Nick was proud to have scored such results, but tomorrow was another challenge for him. He went to the Storm platoon base to recieve further instructions.

Story 2: Range Finding & Advanced Vector Calculation Course Type: Practical

Nick got up from his bed. It was another day of training. He did his daily morning routine: Exercise, stretch, and warmup. Nicks next practice would be finding range without using a scope, such as the kind in sniper rifles. He hoped it would be a piece of cake once the instructor explained it. But by how the name sounded, Nick had the idea that it would be a long day in hell.

Nick strapped on his Boots and his Enlisted Uniform. He was told he wasn’t to worry about armor this time, so he kept his Shock trooper armor and Plain stormtrooper armor at home. Nick left his quarters and went out to meet the shuttle.

It was a long walk, and Nick hoped he wouldn’t be late. He left home early, so that result would have been unlikely to happen. Nick saw the shuttle up ahead, and a group of Stormtroopers were standing infront of it. Nick parked up infront of the Shuttle where all the other vehicles were. He approached the troopers who were waiting. They were un armored, but he knew they were troops because they wore the same enlisted imperial uniform that he did.

‘’Just in time, I hope?’’ Nick asked as he approached.

‘’Yeah. We thought you wouldn’t be coming.’’ One of the guys said.

Nick let out a laugh. ‘’The day I miss training is the day after I die.’’

The five man squad of Heavy weapon specialists went up the ramp and into the shuttle. It was just like any other imperial shuttle. It was grey with a Pilot who dressed with black stormtrooper armor, the armor of the imperial pilot.

The shuttle ascended into the sky, then jetted into the air. The training area was on the same planet, but it was a bit too far.

Nonetheless, the shuttle landed down onto the planet. The ramp extended and the door opened. Nick and the others walked down the ramp. Waiting for them was a man. He was dressed just like thenm, but their were short shoulder guards on his uniform, a sign of importance by the looks of it.

‘’Welcome. Now that you have finally arrived, we shall begin our training as planned. Follow me, if you will.’’

The troopers followed the Instructor, who didn’t seem to be the friendliest person in the world. They whispered to eachother as they entered the large complex. It was filled with training routines and rooms which they couldn’t enter.  Eventually, the instructor stopped in front of a giant room, filled with lanes and aisles.

He turned towards us.  ‘’Here is where this session will start and end. Each of you, place yourselves in one of the shooting lanes.’’

Nick nodded and proceeded to one of the lanes.

‘’Today, we will look into finding range without a scope. Using vector calculation, which is factors such as wind speed and angle.’’

The instructor explained to us the use of Vector calculation and range finding using various methods. After a while, he stopped so they could all let what was taught sink in.
Then, he resumed. This time, he let everyone try using these methods on their own.

‘’Okay, to the side of each of you, there are E-11 blaster rifles. I want you to analyze
Each of the targets and destroy them.

The instructor snapped his fingers as each trooper aimed forward, battle ready.
Targets constantly deployed infront of each lane. Nick used what he was taught to to fire accurately at the heads of the targets. He didn’t do as well as he had hoped, but  Draxen had gotten the hang of it, at least.

The instructor walked by each individual person, watching them make the coordinates and calculations in order to shoot the targets.

‘’You are all getting a small hang of it, that’s enough for now.’’

The troops left their posts and went back to the Instructor. They gathered around him, listening to what he had to say.

‘’One thing you must all remember, you need logic, skill and accuracy to make a perfect shot. Most of you are doing as I expected, some of you need more help. Continue.’’

Nick went back to his shooting lane and continued firing using precision.
The other troops did the same, remembering what the Instructor had told them. Nick focused and continued shooting. Targets were deployed at a never ending paste. Nick figured that he was to keep them at bay, so that they wouldn’t overrun the lane.

The instructor went to an access panel to the side of the room, pressed a couple of buttons and came back to where he was. The targets stopped appearing and the systems shut down. The troopers turned towards the instructor.

‘’Gentlemen, that is enough for today. You have all done well. Go back to your assigned areas and you will be notified when to return.

Nick was glad that he did well. He and the others saluted to the commanding instructor and the men went back out, guided by the instructor. They entered the shuttle and prepared for the journey back.

Story 1: Small Arms Repair

Here we go.. Nick thought.
The shuttle containing a group of Heavy weapon users touched down near a Military training facility. Waiting for them was an imperial officer, completely uniformed. He seemed new and un experienced , but it was obvious that as an Officer he would have what was required for today’s task. The troopers went down the ramp, being greeted by the imperial.

‘’Hello to you all. I will be overseeing your training for the day. Please listen carefully as I will not repeat myself.’’  The imperial officer said this was a menacing face. He didn’t look experienced but he clearly seemed to have more experience than most people at his age and appearance. Nick nodded as he listened to his words, knowing he would be in a world of pain if he defied his instructions. Maybe he wasn’t that cruel.

The instructor lead them through the facility. It was the same as the previous one but they went through different rooms and hallways. These hallways had been more engineering and technology oriented. More Imperial officers were in this area.  They stopped in a room which was filled with weapons hanging from the wall, with some repair tools and manuals.

‘’Today gentlemen, we will start out with the basics. Meaning, the repairing as small arms weaponry, such as a simple blaster. You will all be tested with more difficulties such as Artillery or advanced military science. Do I believe you with all show great skill and expertise in such a short amount of time ? No, I do not. But I do believe a majority shall understand the principles you will be soon taught. Lets move on, then. Grab a pistol and rifle from the wall.’’ The instructor watched the stormtroopers get what they needed. He waited there until they came back.

Nick and the other members went for a blaster. The pair that  Nick received looked like it had not been used in ages.  ‘’Each of the weapons here are damaged and need maintenance. Now get some tools.’’ The Stormtroopers did as they were told and returned to where they were position. Nick saw that all the weapons were the same, so they probably weren’t going to use a manual for this.

The Imperial officer then gave a tutorial into repairing a weapon. He showed them step by step and used examples as well. The stormtroopers followed his instructions carefully.
Nick was impressed with how he explained it to them. It didn’t quite make perfect sense, however.

Nick watched as he pointed out the key parts of the weapon. ‘’Without knowing certain parts of the weapon, you will be unable to repair it properly. Examine your blasters and repair what needs to be repaired.’’

Nick thoroughly searched his blaster for any errors or problems. He found that it wouldn’t fire for some reason and that he had trouble using the trigger.

Hmm.. Perhaps something is blocking it from inside.. Nick thought as he used one particular tool to allow him to view the internal problem.  It just needed minor repairs in order to fix it completely.

After a while, Nick succeeded in finishing both of his weapons he had been given.

‘’Interesting, Draxen.’’ The imperial said observing his strategy.

‘’Hmm impressive, all of you.’’ He said. ‘’You will be informed shortly on when to return.’’

The stormtroopers  placed their weapons placed in the slots on the wall where they were found. They nodded and saluted to the officer as he had left. The officer returned it to them and proceeded into another area of the facility. Nick guessed they had to find their own way back out, seeing as he had led them in here.

Nicks guess was clearly wrong. He returned towards them, with some droids carrying some holodiscs. The droids handed them out to each of the Stormtrooper. It was basically going to be homework for them. Nick tried not to show a sign of distaste towards it, and gave a smile when he was given one.

‘’All the instructions are in there.’’ The instructor said. ‘’Now, follow me back to your shuttle.’’

He lead them towards the shuttle they arrived in. The ramp was extended and everyone went inside in a single file line. Nick sat down as soon as he got into the shuttle.

‘’Well, this will be fun.’’ Nick let out a slight laugh. The others finally settled in and the shuttle began to start up and ascend.

Story 2: Armament Maintenance and Repair

Nick was just entering his room when he received an incoming message. It was from the Stormtrooper Corps. He wasn’t too surprised about it. He had expected a message about his next training course as a heavy weapon specialist. He activated the link, and a hologram started up.

‘’Nick Draxen. Private, First Class correct ? You are expected to attend todays training at the facility. No weapons or anything of that sort is required. Arrive as soon as possible, the quicker. The better.’’

Transmission ended.

Nick was excited to take part in another training lesson. Training was surprisingly one of his hobbies and he spent most of his day doing it. Nick decided to get himself cleaned up and ready before he actually went. He knew he was expected to come quickly, so he rushed himself. He found himself doing that a lot. Before he had come to the stormtrooper Corps, he had to be at certain places as quick as possible. This reminded him of his old days, the only difference was that he wasn’t assassinating someone.

Nick readied himself for his training. He wanted to give a good impression. So he put on his Stormtrooper officer uniform, even though he wasn’t quite an officer. He then headed out, heading towards his Nssis-Class Clawcraft. He didn’t need to take a shuttle anymore, since he now knew how to pilot his ship. He had requested help on piloting from Stormz. He knew how to pilot, but his last piloting experience was a long time ago. Nick entered the cockpit and started it up. It ascended into the sky, then bolted through the air towards the training facility. Nick was glad he had his own ship, it was annoying to have to take the transport.

After a while,  the facility had reached Nicks view. He was almost there. He couldn’t see if the transport had made it there, however.

The clawcraft started slowing down and descending near the training facility. The other transport hand not made it here yet. Outside, Nick could see the instructor and his guards outside awaiting their arrival. His clawcraft touched down and Nick headed towards the imperial instructor, saluting.

‘’Ready for duty, sir.’’
‘’Excellent job on your quick arrival. Hopefully the others will arrive shortly. Don’t worry about going inside the facility, today we will be out here.’’

Nick nodded and looked around. He didn’t see anything that seemed usuable for training. He knew it was about repairing, but he couldn’t remember what they were going to work on. There was nothing outside, just the clawcraft, the base, as well as the beautiful hills and grass.

‘’Have you done what I have asked you to do previously?’’ the instructor said. He was sure Nick did not complete his assignment. Yet, he was wrong. Nick handed it to him, in the form of a datapad.

‘’Ah! Impressive. Your effort shall be noted.’’

A smile started to appear on Nicks face, but he tried to hide it.

The instructor looked up and saw no transport ship starting.

‘’I was hoping they would have arrived sooner. I guess I shall just have to watch you, and you alone.’’

The Instructor looked towards the base, at the walls. Nick wasn’t sure what he was looking at, because there was nothing on the walls of any importance. That was until parts of the walls opened up and dozens of Heavy turrets were deployed, pointing towards Nick. He wasn’t worried, since the turrets had smoke erupting from them. Obviously, each turret was broken.

‘’Theres one turret for each heavy weapon specialist, so don’t worry about fixing all of them. All I want is maintenance on one turret as well as a repair. Simple enough? ‘’

Nick nodded ‘’Yes, Instructor Sir.’’

Nick approached the nearest turret and starting working on it. Nick knew he would need to be able to repair weapons. With the ability to repair, he could benefit himself and his squad members in battle. It would prove to be a great skill. The more he knew, the more he could do, right ? The next time people he cares about get attacked by rebels and pirates, He would be able to do something about it.

He switched between the various tools which were located right next to the turret. It was exactly what he needed. No more, no less. It would however, have taken time. He gripped onto the fusion cutter and attached disconnected parts back together. He was proud that he was given excellent skill training one on one, rather than in a group. He preferred to work with people he knew more about, rather than those he hardly met.

Time passed, and the turret became closer and closer to being in full shape. Nick just had some more rewiring to do with the fusion cutter. After that, it was as good as new. Then, the idea came to him. After his training, maybe he could do some work as an engineer, or a repairman. It would be a great secondary job for him. However, he had made his choice in life. His personal motto was to ‘Punish and Enslave’, not ‘Clean and fix’

Nick finished repairing the heavy turret. The instructor, who had been patiently waiting in the background the whole time, examined the turret. He noticed that all the broken parts were fixed. Nick hoped he had done a perfect job. That was what he had always aimed for.

‘’Excellent job on your repairs. Unfortunately..’’

Nicks heart started jumping.

‘’Unfortunately, the others haven’t seemed to arrive yet. I could show you the rest of the lesson, but I would only have to repeat myself. So, I will contact you shortly in your next instructions.’’

Nick nodded as they both exchanged salutes. Nick hopped back into his Clawcraft and began his trip home. The day was still young and he had a lot of things he planned to do today.

Nick quickly prepares himself for the days training course. He was supposed to go inside of a simulation today. He hoped he would do good, and he didn’t even think of the consequences if he failed. He equipped himself with some imperial shocktrooper armor and went out to the facility. Nick had no time to spare, he wanted to get their right on time before the simulation had started.

Nick quickly jumped into his Clawcraft. He was glad that he had finally found out to pilot it. He was more independent and he would probably get there before the transport containing the others did. This was the case previously. Nick came and left before the transport had even arrived

Nick started his ship and prepared to take off into the air. He watched as the ship began to ascend. He set the coordinates into the Navicomputer. He didn’t bother to check for an ETA. He just set the course to auto pilot and laid back and looked at the view. Tadath was quite an amazing planet. It was the heart of the Stormtrooper corps. Whoever had chosen this location certainly made a good decision.

The Clawcraft began slowing down as it reached its destination. Nick looked around the exterior, the transport was arriving as well.

‘’It seems that they actually beat me there.’’ Nick said. He laughed as the transport touched down.

The Clawcraft also landed down in front of the facility. Nick quickly exited it. He joined the line along with the other stormtroopers. The imperial instructor than began to lead them into the facility. ‘’Right this way.’’

They went down through the same rooms as last time. It was nothing different, except they switched directions and went towards a huge room.

‘’The simulation room.’’ Nick said in awe.

‘’Well, no kidding.’’ One of the troopers in line said.

‘’Okay, troopers. Today we are going to do something a bit different than we have previously done. We are now going to do a simulation. In this simulation, your goal is to roam the battlefield and help repair damaged weapons and tools.’’

The specialists all nodded and saluted. They were all pretty nervous. Nick moved into the interior of the room, waiting for the simulation to begin.

The room began to shift its appearance. The walls morphed into a battlefield which stretched for miles. The ground became stained with bodies and damaged parts.

‘’Woah.’’ Nick said as he observed this new area.

Nick saw fellow stormtroopers charging into the battle. They went for cover and into trenches. Nick looked out towards their destination. It was a battle between the Galactic Empire and the Rebellion. AT-ATs filled the area, ready to slaughter countless rebels.
The rebels also charged at the imperials. Pilots made countless attempts to wrap cables around the legs of the AT-ATs. Of course, it was helpless.

‘’Looks like the rebels have a bit too much technology.’’ Nick said. The rebels he had fought against seemed inexperienced and untrained. These rebels, were a different story.

Nick looked around to see what the other specialists were doing. Some of them were a bit clueless, others went on the repair damaged machinery. Nick looked at a nearby trench. There was something similar to an E-web. It looked completely wrecked, as if a battalion of wookiees had ran into it.

Nick quickly moved over towards the trench. There were medics trying to help out injured troops. And other troops were firing using the trench as cover.

‘’Lets see what I can do here.’’ Nick said. He took out his fusion cutter and began working on the E-web. The sounds of grenades and mines filled his ears as he tried to repair it. He attached its wires and metal together.

‘’Thats a good start.’’ Nick said.

Nick moved away from the E-Web. One of the troopers in the trench ran towards it and started blasting away.

There was a lot of work to be done. Nick saw a man dressed in uniform inside the trench. By the looks of it, he was the commanding officer. The imperial officer seemed to have problems fixing his comlink. Chances were, it was the officers only communication when he needed reinforcements or gave instructions.

Nick quickly moved towards the officer. He offered to try to fix his comlink.. The imperial handed it to Nick and he began to fix it.

He quickly organized the different chords and energy cells inside of the comlink. He handed It back to the imperial. Nick was sure it should work . All it needed was some work.

Nick hopped out of the trench, looking for something else that needed to be fixed. He saw a sharpshooter taking cover, who seemed to have some trouble firing.

After sprinting towards him, the sniper could tell Nick was there to repair his sniper rifle.
So Nick took the rifle and began working on it. He examined the ammo of the rifle and checked its various parts that allowed it to fire. The sniper seemed to have been jammed. Nick fused the reactor  to bypass the jam. The energy beam then started to spark, signaling its completion. Nick handed the rifle to the sniper and he managed to take a couple of shots before being shot down by an enemy turret. Nick and the other specialists backed away as everything in the area began to fade.

The battle had morphed back into the simulation room. The troopers moved out of the center of the area and returned to the imperial instructor, who was standing on the outside.

‘’Excellent work. I see you managed not to be blown to bits.’’ He laughed.

‘’Yeah well, it wasn’t exactly a piece of cake.’’ Nick added.

‘’The point is, you did what you were told to do. Repair as much as you could. Splendid work, gentlemen.’’

The imperial officer nodded to the team. Nick sighed as he wondered what would be next in store for him.

As usual, they exited the training facility and went into their ships. They ascended into the sky and jetted off into the horizon.

Story 1: Weapons Emplacement

Nick sat down quietly in the shuttle along with the other troopers. He decided not to go onto his clawcraft this time. He wanted to interact more with the other heavy weapon specialists. The shuttle was a bit slow compared to the clawcraft. Nick forgot how slow it was.

Luckily it didn’t take the whole day to arrive. It eventually touched down near the training facility. Todays instructor was waiting for the heavy troopers near the landing area, as always.
The troopers lined up in a line in the usual order.  The instructor greeted them with an introduction. Nick was getting tired of this. Then, he got to the important stuff.

‘’Okay. Today you will be simulated once again. This time, its going to be about weapons emplacement. You will learn how to set up heavy weapons like an E-Web repeating blaster, or artillery. I will set you up in groups of three. In these groups, you will enter the simulation and do your part in the use of each weapon.’’

The instructor began to list the groups. Nick wasn’t worried who he would be paired up with. He was willing to cooperate with everyone here. They were all equally trained and respected.

Nick was teamed with Zen, coruscant born just like him, and Heath, from Eriadu. Nick knew he could trust in them, and they could trust in him. Hopefully, their wasn’t going to be any problems.

The teams went into a room beside the one they had previously entered. No one could tell much of a difference. It looked almost the exact same, but with a different name.

The squad teams went into the room and waited for the simulation to start up. Nick hoped it would be more exciting than the previous one before.

The room began to change color and appearance as they stood. The hard solid floor turned into grass. The Imperial walls had faded into an endless sky. The simulation had begun.

‘’Lets go!’’ Nick said. Zen and Heath new that Nick was a Lance Corporal, so they highly honored his decisions.

The crew moved into a trench nearby. They could hear blaster fire filling their ears. They saw an E-web laying on the ground, completely unused.

‘’Lets set up this E-web.’’ Zen said.

The crew moved towards the Repeating blaster. They lifted it onto its feet. It was a bit heavy, but that wasn’t the problem. The problem was that E-webs took a long time to get functional.

After lifting it back up, The crew began working on the power generator and the cooler. Nick and Heath monitered the adjusted the generator while Zen attended to the cooler.

It took a while, but they finally got the E-web ready to go. It would take some time to be charged and ready for fire, however. Hopefully, some soldier would be able to use it before something happened to it.

‘’Okay. Now where to ?’’ Heath wondered.

Suddenly, the ground began to shake from the explosion caused by the enemy artillery.

‘’Now, we find some artillery to work on.’’

They began to roam the battlefields, taking cover while searching for the proper equipment. Nick could have sworn he was a goner when he saw a blaster bolt fly by him.

As they were searching, Zen appeared with a rocket launcher.

‘’Where in the galaxy did you acquire that??’’ Nick asked. He did not see Zen with it before.

Zen pointed towards the dead bodies near them. It was probably an imperial crew who had met an unfortunate end.

‘’Oh.’’ Nick said.

The launcher was huge, and could not be effectively used by one person alone. Zen went on his knee while keeping it on his shoulders. Nick went behind him to load it up from behind. Nick dropped the first missile inside of it, and Zen fired. The blast flew across the field towards the rebel artillery. One of the emplacements exploded on impact.

‘’Nice shot. But we still have some work to do.’’ Nick reminded them.

Nick loaded up another one inside of the launcher. Zen fired it at another cannon. The explosion sent several troopers into the ground. Zen threw the launcher off of his shoulders. The crew moved off to safety in imperial lines.

‘’Okay. Looks like this battle is actually ending.’’ Nick commented. The imperials seemed to be flanking and holding off the rebel forces.

Then Nick saw something that could completely turn the tide of the battle. He saw swarms of Y-Wing bombers overhead.

‘’QUICK, SET UP THE ANTI-AIRCRAFT TURRETS!’’ Nick exclaimed.

The crew wondered where the others had went. The battle was large, so they  probably were deployed in different areas.

Heath, Nick and Zen rushed towards some weapon parts. There wasn’t a lot of parts to put together. It was nearly already put together. The crew set them up one at a time, separated from eachother. That way, they would be harder to shoot down. The Y-wings were getting closer and closer to their lines.

‘’Here they come!!’’ Nick could hear a soldier yell out to his comrades.

It would take some time to finish them all, but some of them were operational and firing on the Y-Wings. The bombers plunged into the field, causing soldiers to scramble.

‘’There!’’ Nick said, starting up the Anti-Aircrafts systems.

In total, around seven Anti-Aircraft turrets were operational and firing out towards the sky. It would take more than that to be safe, but it would get the job done. The crew could never know the outcome of the battle, because the simulation began to end.

The imperial instructor waited as the crew began to realize it had ended. A voice was heard over the com.

‘’Simulation complete, thank you for your participation.’’

The troopers assembled back out of the simulation. The instructor congratulated them on their skill and hard work.

‘’Okay, we will start our next session sooner then you think.’’

The troopers didn’t know what he meant when he said that. All they knew was that they were going to go home and reflect on what they did.

COMMENTS: EXCELLENT! Good grammar and more than decent knowledge of the story. Things seem well thought out and well researched. Keep up the good work! If I might suggest though I'd like to see slightly more from you on the area of character development.

Story 2: integrated combined arms Fire control Placement.

Nick and the other heavy troopers exited the ramp of the shuttle. Nick was glad to be back for another set of training. He got to meet with Zen and Heath, his partners from the previous training course. They were quite a team and they hoped they would be together in battle once again.. There were about twelve. soldiers in total who were present.  Nick had gotten acquainted with the other nine.

‘’Hey, wheres the instructor ?’’  Said one of the specialists.

He was nowhere to be seen. He was usually there, waiting for them. This time, it was totally different. It surprised them more than it should. He was usually there on time.

‘’I fooled you, didn’t I ?’’  A voice came from behind them.

The last trooper was leaving the ship. He took off his helmet, revealing his familiar face.

‘’Its been a while since ive been in one of these.’’ Said the instructor, tapping at his armor.

Usually, he was in his imperial officer uniform. Today, he looked just like them. If they did not know him, he would have looked like a new recruit.

‘’This way, gentlemen.’’ He lead the troops away from the training center and towards the hill.

There were armaments scattered around the field. It reminded Nick of the simulations they were in during their last training session as well as the one before that. Unlike them, this field wasn’t covered with bodies. They approached a crate placed in the field. Inside of it, were weapons Nick had not seen before.

‘’Today we are going to be working on Integrated Combine arms, ICA. The art of two weapons.  As you can see, these weapons seem a bit different than what you are accustomed to. Everyone, take out a weapon, along with two sidearms.

Nick reached into the crate. He equipped himself with the Dc-17M Interchangeable combat system along with two Standard blaster pistols.

‘’The DC-17 Combat system is a three way wrecking ball. It specializes in standard assault, tactical sniper, as well as anti-armor weaponry. Its Anti-Armor use can not be stretched too far, however. ‘’

Nick swiped the two sidearms to his belt and held the DC-17.
If they were going to use these, that would mean that He and the other specialists were in for quite a day.

In the near distance, they could see 4 armoured droids heading towards them.

‘’Task one, Switch to Anti-Armor. Then take them out.’’

‘’Sir, wouldn’t it be wise to do something easier first ?’’ Zen suggested.

‘’Sometimes, you have to run before you can walk.’’ The instructor said.

The troopers shifted their combat systems into what looked like Anti-Armor mode. They took cover among the hills, evading fire. Nick, Zen and Heath drove out of cover at the same time and quickly shot down the two of them.

‘’Excellent work.’’ The instructor said.

The problem was the Dc-17m had some problems when it came to ‘’reloading’’ in Anti-Armor mode.

‘’A little bit of help would be nice.’’ Nick said impatiently.

The droids were getting closer to his position. Their blasts became more accurate as they approached. The trio switched there weapons to Standard form and tried to attack the other two. It came to no effect.

‘’Heath, Be careful!’’ Nick said.

Heath slammed into the ground, injured.

‘’Uh-Oh’’ Zen said.

The other Stormtroopers came out of hiding and blasted at the droids in Anti-Armor mode. Finally, they crumbled into the floor. The troops then paid their attention to Heath. Nick was ravaged to see his friend in such pain. He had not felt so worried in a very long time. He hoped he wasn’t the only one who felt this way. He had stronger feelings and emotions than some people.

‘’He will be fine, their blasters are not designed to kill, nor to fatally wound.’’ The instructor claimed.

Next came a small platoon of 17 droids. They weren’t heavily armored like the previous ones. They had standard Blaster rifles. Aside from their numbers, it would be a piece of cake. They were wrong. Nick almost thought he was drunk on corellian alcohol. Their shots were nearly ineffective

The droids were smarter and more tactically advanced than they had thought they were.

‘’Take cover everyone!’’ Nick yelled.

The troopers hid along the tall grass and the  hills. They were in prone and tried to get clear shots of their targets. They would need a lot of aiming precision. This was a bit easier when they noticed that the Dc-17 was lighter than most weapons.

Heath, who was still unable to fight, pointed at the side of the hill. The droids were trying to flank them.

‘’Ive got it.’’ Nick said, switching to Sniper mode.

There were about 5 droids trying to flank them. They were easy to pick and shoot down. Nick feared more would be on their way. Nick switched back to standard and continued the fight. They needed a way to destroy them and they needed it quickly.

‘’Heres a tip. Some of you be in standard mode, others in Anti-Armor and others in Sniper.’’ The instructor suggested.

Nick could not believe he had not thought of that before. Nick switched to Sniper mode and shot down the approaching enemies from afar before they had the chance to even be in attack range. Nick turned and saw others in Anti-Armor or standard mode. It was a plan that seemed to be working.

The droid forces were being taken down easier than they were before. The best guess was that they had on slight armor, which was not harmed by standard fire alone.

The instructor observed the area, seeing the destroyed droids on the ground.

‘’Nice job, everyone. You used a mix of weapons in order to damage the enemy effectively. Excellent job, that’s what it is all about. Know that if you can do it in squads, then you can do it alone.’’  He smiled as he spoke.

Everybody was glad to know that they were safe. Nick was worried about Heath. He knew that he would make it his best interest in making sure he was okay once they arrived back.

Level 4: Weapon systems
Story three: Imperial, NR, CSA Weapon systems

Nick and the other heavy specialists once again arrived at the training facility. They were missing one person, Heath. He had been injured in the last course and was recommended to sit this one out. Nick had his best wishes for his injured friend. Nick honored his fellow brothers and sisters in arms. As usual, the instructor was ready to greet them.

‘’Ready guys? This is one of your most important courses today. In order to be a good heavy weapon trooper, you are going to need to know the weapons of war. The imperial armaments, as well as the New Republics and the Corporate Sector Authority.’’ He explained.

‘’Yes sir.’’ The heavy weapon specialists complied.

They could all tell it was going to be a long and boring day. He was probably going to spend the whole time giving a lecture about the different types of weapons. Although it was boring, Nick knew it was necessary and he was willing to learn new things. He just thought of it as a kind of mission briefing and continued on.

Before they knew it, they were inside of the facility. It was a wide and skinny room. Along the walls, were countless amounts of weapons and datapads, each in its own category.  Nick looked around the room, stricken with Awe. Nick had two things on the top of his obsession list: Drinking, and weapons. If he had the knowledge and technology to be a weapons developer, he would do it. He could lend a greater hand to imperial efforts and give them weapons beyond imagination. However, it too could only be an imagination.

The instructor went along one side of the room. He turned his back to one large display of weapons. Overhead were the words ‘’Galactic Empire.’’

‘’These are the imperial armaments. A majority of the best the galaxy has to offer. Our technology is highly advanced and never-ending. Most of our weapons you are already familiar with, such as the E-11 or DC series. Those are just a taste of our infantry weapons. We have a variety of anti-vehicle weapons, the MiniMag PTL is one of our prime combatants against enemy vehicles and aircraft. Its proton torpedo is a dangerous asset. It is, however capable of using different forms of ammunition.’’

Nick had seen this rocket launcher in action during one of his first training missions. It wasn’t a pleasant sight.

‘’Do not expect it to do too well against more fortified defences, such as a juggernaut. They are one of the militarys best armored forces. ‘’

Nick had never seen a juggernaut before in person. He knew it wasn’t a pleasant sight for the enemy. The appearance and power of a juggernaut, as well as an At-At frightened him to the core. They were some of the imperial methods of using fear to gain victory.

‘’You are all aware of the imperial weapons, so there is no need to go into more detail. Now.’’ He walked towards the New republic section. ‘’We will look into these rebellious scum.

‘’The New Republic, formerly the rebel alliance has raised most of its weaponry and advancements by stealing our technology. They are nothing but mere thieves. Among their equiptment are standard blaster rifles and carbines. Along with  Dh-17s and A280 blasters. They can be easily crushed, if it were not for their ‘hit and run’ tactics, which is what their weapon specializes in. Among their artillery and vehicles, are the MPTL and T4 tank, some of their military equipment are also civilian used..

Most of the troopers were aware that New republic armaments were essentially formed from outdated rebel weapons. To Nick, the rebels and the NR had no honor for the scientists who worked so hard to give the empire their power. His hatred for rebels grew even more, along with his anger towards the New Republic.

‘’Now. The CSA. Corporate Sector Authority. In a way, another New republic. They are not one of us, hence they are deemed rebels.’’

He moved towards the Csa section. Nobody knew much about them, so they all listened carefully.

‘’The corporate sector weaponry is very various. It is nearly impossible to tell you of their weapons at this time, since they use a mix. A Standard Blaster Rifle and Pistol are the usual, as well as some New republic weapons.’’

‘’Sir, will we be learning about any other faction weapons?’’ One of the soldiers asked.

‘’No, we will not. This is because these three are the most advanced and important. Once you know their weapons, youll know every systems. As I was saying, the CSA have light armoured vehicles. That doesn’t mean they aren’t dangerous. They have the Espo walkers.’’

As he spoke, holovids started activating. The troopers saw Espo walkers compared to At-Sts and the republic model. Nick was quite fascinated in this. This lesson was more interesting than he had thought. It seemed battle wasn’t the only thing that he found complex, but interesting.

‘’Well, that about wraps up our course. Remember that this entire facility will be open to you for training simulations whenever you like.’’ The instructor reminded.

‘’Yes sir!’’ the heavy weapon specialists replied.

They all exchanged salutes to the officer. Like always, he did the same. Basic protocol.
He lead them back to the transport to move on with their day. Nick was glad that he had been shown some of the enemy weapons. He had an advantage over them, in a lot of ways.

Lance Corporal Nick Draxen
Paladin Squad.
Level five: Light Squad Support Weapons Certification Exam
Story one: Imperial, A280 Armor Piercing Blaster

Nick Draxen entered the training area, wearing Shock trooper armor. He was proud of himself for his advancement into the certified levels. He knew that they would be hard, but that was one thing in which he had always enjoyed. Well, the second thing he always enjoyed, next to a good corellian whiskey.

As he entered the training grounds, he saw a man near a weapon rack. He looked like he was high ranking and a professional, with scars going across his face.

This will definitely be hard. Nick thought.

‘’Greetings, Lance Corporal. Congratulations on making it this far. Be warned, these next levels of training will NOT be easy.’’ The veteran-instructor said.

Nick nodded. He knew what was coming. He made his own choices, and was proud of it.
His mechanical arm in a way, was an example of one of his choices. Obviously, everything he did during these training routines would matter more than anything.

The instructor handed Draxen a BlasTech A280 Armor Piercing Blaster. This would be easier than he thought, at least temporarily. He had purchased this weapon a while back. It was pretty good firepower to have on your side. It would probably give an advantage in what was to come.

‘’For this course, you will be going into a tunnel. The tunnel has heavily armored droids, designed to kill.’’

Nicks heart felt like it was running away from him.

‘’Hmm. Give me one fact about this weapon.’’ The instructor requested.

‘’Well, I know that it is powerful enough to blast through an armored stormtrooper, quite devastating.’’ Nick said.

‘’Indeed it is. Now, go through that door, you will be observed as you proceed.’’

Nick saluted to the instructor and went through the door. He would probably be facing his doom. The reality was nothing like what he thought it would be.

The ‘tunnel’ was just a long band of hallways, with objects usable for cover.

‘’Well, this is rich.’’ Nick said. He was trying to look on the bright side of things.

The amusement stopped when he saw about seven B1 battle droids heading his way. His first challenge in the tunnel, was surely one of the most difficult.

Nick, BlasTech A280 Armor Piercing Blaster in hand, dived towards cover. He started firing at the droids from behind a table-shaped object. The blaster bolts slammed into the first two, ripping into the hard armor and causing them to explode.

‘’ Woah, this thing packs a punch.’’ Nick said, firing at two more. The remaining droids continued to come towards him, firing. He wished they could feel true pain, because they were beginning to annoy him.

The BlasTech A280 Armor Piercing Blaster was perfect at this type of range. It performed at the height of its power in medium range. The droids were being split in half, literally. Draxen kind of thought he was cheating, because he had used this weapon before.

After the last few droids were taken care of, he continued down the tunnel. More droids. Luckily, they were turned the other way when Nick began to unleash blasts at them, destroying five. The remaining six, were a bit more alert. They turned to Nick and another firefight ensued .

Uh oh. Nick thought.

There was nowhere to take cover which was close enough for him to make. He ran into the door nearby. Inside of it was nearly empty, with only a desk inside it. Nick was clearly meant to come in here and use this desk for cover, so he did.

The droids stormed into the room, not knowing his location within. Nick jumped out of cover and fired, unleashing a barrage towards them. The blasts rammed through them all and turned them into scraps. It was a shame he wouldn’t be able to take them.

Nick checked his ammo, like he always did. He chose the smartest and strategic times to reload. He bolted out of the room, running over the droid parts which piled onto the ground. His task was pretty difficult but his proficiency with the A280 was ensuring his safety.

Draxen eventually found himself in a large room which was full of deactivated super battle droids.

‘’Uh oh.’’

Infront of him, three of B2 super battle droids immediately stood up and aimed their blaster-enhanced fists at him. Nick quickly ducked and rolled behind a column of droids. The other droids were enough of a problem. Could he really handle these guys ?

The tri-shots nearly left a large chunk in Nicks head. That was close. He thought.

He heard the footsteps of each droid. About two were going on his right, and one was on his left. He got an idea, charging towards the left. The droid saw him, and before it could move, dozens of blasts slammed into its armor which completely cripped it. Nick let out a sigh of relief.

The sound of the attack alerted the other two droids. Nick fired at them, using the deactivated droids as cover. Nick let out quite a bit of his ammunition on them. None the less, they were all destroyed.

‘’That was harder than I thought.. Hope the other exams aren’t as hard.’’

Nick went through another door. As he did so, he came face to face with the instructor once again.

‘’Excellent job!! You handled that well. Your survival itself shows your expertise. Congratulations, prepare to be contacted soon.’’

A smile appeared on Nicks face. The Lance corporal gave a salute to the instructor, placed the weapon on a rack and exited the training facility. He knew it well enough to be able to navigate it on his own.

COMMENTS: Good work. I like the added touch of droids! As a side note I think some of those models are long since outdated but that isnt to say that academy wouldnt have them on hand.
