Level 1: Cover Tactics
Story 1: Fire Support Tactics

Lennik put a fresh power cell into his standard-issue E-11 combat rifle as he stepped into the arena. As his first assignment in as a Heavy Weapons Specialist, Lennik was to learn Fire Support Tactics. At the moment, he had to go into a training arena and use these tactics to take out a squad of training droids. His drill instructor was to contact Lennik via his built-in comm unit in his helmet if Lennik did anything wrong. "I'm ready." Lennik said as the door leading out of the arena shut. "Releasing training droids." Lennik's instructor replied. Lennik heard a door open and the sound of metal feet running on a metal floor. The droids had special training blasters that were meant to only hurt Lennik if they hit him.

Lennik, hearing heavy footsteps, turned to the direction they were coming from and ran that way. As the footsteps got louder, Lennik saw the droid, and before it even noticed him, he shot it in the head. He then heard some kind of wierd noise, followed by a blaster shot. The shot missed him by the smallest amount, and the short delay of the droid's trigger finger allowed Lennik to roll behind a crate. After one other shot, Lennik jumped up and shot the droid. "Nice job, Lennik. Seven more." Lennik's instructor, Rizzit, said.

Several footsteps coming from the same area told Lennik that there was a group of droids coming his way. Lennik waited a few seconds, then threw a frag grenade in the directions of the footsteps. He then ran to where the sounds were coming from, to make sure all of the droids were destroyed. "D-die!" Lennik heard the only surviving droid say. It then shot Lennik with a barrage of blaster bullets. Apparently, because the droid had nearly been shut down because of the frag grenade's blast, it messed up it's aim. Lennik shot and killed it.

P.S: Unless a post has an OOC box with a title for a different story, than very post is the same story. In forums, I have a tendency to spread stories into different posts.

He walked into Rizzit's office, and Rizzit handed him about five power cells. "These power cells can charge more blasts then the ones you have right now. Put these on your utility belt and go into the next training arena. This time, you will have two training droids on your team, and you three will be fighting two squads this time. Now move out." "Hey, cool. More action." Lennik put the power cells on his belt and got his helmet on. He put one of the power cells in his blaster and stepped into the training area."Ready." "Releasing droids." This time Lennik heard two doors open. One was no more than ten feet away from him, releasing two droids in full suits of standard Storm armor. The same he was wearing. They almost looked like real people. "Droid 82 reporting for duty, Lennik." The first droid said. Following, the second droid said, "Droid 85 reporting for duty, Lennik."

"Droid 82. You will be a distraction. Run as fast as you can to the middle of the arena, and throw two grenades. The first one will be in the direction that the other droids started out at. The second one will be to the left." "Yes, Private Lennik." Droid 82 said, then ran off. "Droid 85. Wait until you hear the second explosion, then run to the left. I will go right." "Yes, Private Lennik." Lennik then ran as fast as he could to the middle of the map on the right side. There he saw the whole first squadron. He hid behind a wall, and heard an explosion. Then he threw a grenade at the nine droids, and heard another explosion. Right after the third grenade thrown, by him, detonated, he checked to see if there were any surviving droids. None were.

After several blaster shots were heard, Lennik's comm link turned on. "This is Droid 82, Lennik. My duties are complete." "This is Droid 85, Lennik. My duties are complete." "Nice job, Lennik. In that short amount of time, you managed to shut down eighteen training droids. Rendezvous with your two squad members and proceed to my office.

"All droids move in! We have located the human!" Lennik heard one of the droids say.Lennik then threw a sound grenade as far as he could. It landed on the complete opposite side of the arena, then denotated with a loud boom. Then Lennik jumped, to see over all of the obstacles where the rest of the droids were. He saw nearly all of the droids running to the spot that Lennik through the grenade.

However one of the droids spotted Lennik when he jumped. "Get him!" It said. Lennik readied his blaster, and when all of the droids appeared, he shot as fast as his trigger finger could, taking down droid after droid after droid. He took out twelve, then threw a frag grenade where the rest of the droids had gathered, taking the rest of them out. After the explosion, Lennik heard several droid screams, and two last droids appeared in Lennik's sights. Knowing he was out of charges with his E-11, he put it in it's holster and took out the two DL-44s. He quickly shot down the two droids, and not waiting for any acknowledgement on his accomplishment, went to Rizzik's office.

"That was near perfect. Things like the sound grenade you threw are keys to Fire Support Tactics." "Thanks. Now is that all, or do I need to do yet another practice?" "No, you're good. Now it's getting late. You should get back to your barracks." Rizzit replied. Lennik sighed in relief and took his helmet off. When he reached his barracks, he stripped himself of all of his equipment and lied in bed. He couldn't stop thinking of all the droids he had to fight. And he pondered what he would have to do the next day.

Lennik took the power cell from Rizzik's hand, and loaded it into the unimaginably heavy gun. "Get any other supplies you think you might need from here, and step into the training arena." Rizzit said, and walked into the training grounds' control room. "Ready." "Releasing training droids." droids. That was Lennik's cue. The moment Rizzit said that word, Lennik fired five heavy blasts from the DLT-19 that he picked up from the armory. That was enough to blow out the main wall in the training area. Lennik put up the DLT-19 and pulled out the Z-6.

He saw two squads starting at the emptiness that used to be wall. Lennik blasted them to pieces and threw a grenade in the direction where he saw a droid come out from. After the grenade detonated, Rizzit spoke. "Wow. Simply amazing. You have already taken out three of the five squads. I would have never expected such great work from someone of your position. Keep up the good work, those other two squads shouldn't be a problem." Lennik, eager to use every gun in his possession, dropped the Z-6 and got out his E-11 sidearm.

He walked through the hole in the main wall, and saw a droid. He aimed, fired, and shot it in the head, all in one quick second. The rest of that droid's squad came, and Lennik, in a few quick seconds, shot them all, one by one. "Tell me Rizzit, why are these droids stupid enough to stay together in groups?" "Some people just do that, Lennik." Rizzit said, trying to hold back a laugh. Lennik saw four droids come. "That's the last squad. It should be the hardest, as well. It's meant to give you a little...test." Rizzit said, noticing that Lennik had spotted the four droids. Three droids looked like they were guarding the fourth. One was to the left, right, and the third one in front. He shot the three, and saw what Rizzit meant:

"Now, Droid 103. You will follow me with your E-11, and try to pick off any enemies while I distract them with my Z-6." "Okay." "Haha! Okay? That's all you have to say? Anyways, let's go." Lennik chuckled as they both started their Trek down the field. Lennik heard seven unusually loud blaster shots, followed by his comm turning on. It was Droid 85. "Lennik, I have taken down five enemy droids." "Good, but next time, don't miss." Lennik said, right as Droid 103 shot an enemy droid sneaking up from behind them. "Hey, how'd you know that was there?" Lennik asked. "I don't know, sir." Lennik marveled at the droid's near-perfect AI. Lennik through all of his grenades in random directions, making sure he didn't throw one near one of the other droids in his squad. Miraculously, two of his grenades took out a squad per grenade.

"Wow, three squads down already." Lennik said. Coincidentally, following Lennik's sentence was a series of blaster shots, obviously from a Z-6. "Two squads down, sir." Lennik held back a laugh, and instead smirked behind the anonymous mask that covered his head, hiding his identity. "Two more, Lennik. Look's like you're getting lucky." Rizzit said through Lennik's comm. "Yep." Was all Lennik had to reply with. Just then, two shots were fired. One hit Droid 103 in the head, killing the droid. The other one hit Lennik in the shoulder. "Damn!" Lennik said, as he pulled up his Z-6 into a firing position and pulled the trigger down, elminating three droids. Two more came right after that, followed by five behind Lennik.

Having wasted all of his grenades, Lennik had no exposive way of getting out of this mess. He shot the two droids from the sixth squad, dropped his Z-6, and unsheathed the vibroblade that dangled from his utility belt. Lennik ducked, dodging several blaster shots, and make several quick slashes, demolishing all but one droid. He then decapitated the last droid with a small, and moderatly weak, flick of his wrist. "Damn. You really need to start making these droids more stable. One small flick of my wrist, and [i]oops! There goes it's head![i] Hehe." Lennik said as he sheathed his sword and picked up his gun. "I thought this was heavy weapons training. Not stormtrooper samurai training." Rizzit said with a small laugh. "It was my first thought, sorry." Lennik said in a defensive tone. "Eh, no problem. I guess you have the rest of the day off now. You've certainly learned what you were supposed to. Indirect Fire Operations. Goodbye."

After the sword fight with the droid, Lennik had started taking his personal vibroblade just about everywhere he went. A few months before Lennik had joined the Vast Empire, he had looted a vibroblade off of the corpse of a jedi. Whoever had killed the jedi had to of looted the corpse of any lightsaber, because Lennik found none. He had always wondered what difference this one had to a regular vibroblade. He knew it had some significance, because most jedi didn't carry just any old sword. Lennik awoke from his trance because of a blaster shot to the arm. "Ah! Damn!" Lennik yelled.

He quickly got right back on his task of shooting the second wave of droids. Shot after shot, droid after droid, Lennik dropped all of the droids. "What happened, Lennik?" Rizzit asked, practically yelling over the comm. "I'm sorry, I was just thinking back to something else." "Well you're not going to be making that excuse in the heat of battle after you get shot down! Don't do it again." "Okay. I'm sorry." Lennik said, with a small trace of a whine in his tone. Next was the DLT-19. Lennik thought the DLT-19 to be somewhat of a heavy sniper, with the ability to fire long ranges, and the firepower to be carried by either a sniper or a heavy weapons artist such as himself. In fact, Lennik was posted to fire the DLT-19 at the same post he was at to use the E-17D.

To demonstrate the DLT's use of firepower, the Training Droids were behind a thick wall. Lennik had to fire several shots to blow it out. The debri from the wall took down two droids already. It was very easy to disable all of the droids with this gun. Shooting one droid would make a blast big enough to kill another droid or two. Lennik finished both waves, no problem. Next was Z-6. And then DL-44. Just about every weapon he had used in previous exersizes, he used here. Except for his sword, of course. That disappointed Lennik. Yesterday, however, Lennik got permission from Rizzit to keep a special droid in his room. Every night, right before going to sleep for the night, Lennik would turn it on and have a fight or two with it.

Lennik, knowing other droids would go to elminate those ones, didn't bother to even try. Several sound grenades then went off, followed by a concussion grenade. That was his cue. He ran as fast as he could, in any direction he could find. He noticed a droid's shadow near where he was headed. While running, he aimed down the sites of his rifle. The second the droid came into few, he fired a shot at it's head. Then two other droids shared the same fate. Lennik, growing tired, slowed down a little bit. He then reached the opposite side of the training arena, to find another droid. As he started to aim at it, he noticed that it was carrying a vibroblade, sheathed on it's back. He shot the blaster out of the droids hands, and pulled out his vibroblade.

Hoping for an exciting sword fight, the droid was horrible at using a blade. It took one weak swing towards Lennik. He then hit the sword out of the droids hands, and thrust his own blade into the center of the droid's face. He picked up the droid's sword and through it. Miraculously, at the split second that Lennik had thrown the vibroblade, a droid stepped into the area to investigate the sound of a blaster and then clashing of swords. The sword's handle hit the droid in the arm. As it stumbled backwards, Lennik turned around and charged at it. The droid aimed down it's sites, and just about a second before it fire, Lennik swung the sword at the droid, slicing it in two. Lennik sheathed his vibroblade and readied his DLT-19.

Lennik then turned back on his helmet's heads up display. He saw that one of the droid's coordinates were still there. That's odd, Lennik thought. Why would my team leave one of them surviving? "Droids, I need a status report. Squad one and two." No answer. Lennik started walking towards the coordinates. When he got close to where they were, he saw the disabled bodies of all of his fellow team droids. Damn, how could one droid kill all of these other droids? Lennik thought. A second later he saw why. The last droid was in a pillbox with a Z-6. "Oh." Lennik said aloud. Just then, a barrage of blaster fire came his way. The first of it startled Lennik, causing him to hide behind a wall. This is going to be fun, He thought to himself, half-sarcastically.

He went around to the back of the pillbox. Hey, look! A door! I wonder what this leads to! Lennik thought jokingly. He smiled, and walked in. The droid didn't even have time to half turn around before what was left of it's head flew out of the pillbox and onto the floor. "Look. You managed to kill all of my companion droids. Nice job, Rizzit." Lennik said. "I'm surprised you didn't hear the blasterfire that destroyed them all." He answered. Lennik shruged, although he knew noone could see him do it. "Anyways, just go back to your room. I'm done with you." Rizzit said. Without anymore talking, Lennik went to his room, undressed and went to bed, making sure not to be tired for the next day. Near the end of that training course, he had started feeling very odd. Like he was getting terribly ill or something. Well, there's nothing I can do about it 'til the morning anyways. Lennik said quietly to himself, and fell asleep.
