In these troubled times the direct approach can often lead to failure. Keeping this in mind, Naval Command has created a specialized privateer unit, under the command of Ensign Demonic. This privateer squadron, named Reaper, will operate off the Hellfire-class Escort Carrier Acheron, formerly the Tiamut. Operating on a hit-and-run policy, this small task force will be able to strike swiftly and definitely, disrupting shipping lanes and hostile force deployments throughout known space.

There will be a total of six spots in this elite flight element. Four have already been filled by VEN members who have proved themselves not only capable pilots, but loyal members of the Navy.


The placements are as follows:

CWO C-3PX2, for his performance in the capacity of Squadron Commander and for his dedication to the Academy, is placed as Reaper 1.

CPO Gshlecc, for his performance in the capacity of Flight Leader and Executive Officer is placed as Reaper 2.

SCPO Ibram Tyrol, for his performance in the capacity of Flight Leader and Executive Officer, and for his dedication to the Academy, is placed as Reaper 3.

CPO Anden Beliam, for his performance in the capacity of Flight Leader, is placed as Reaper 4.


The 5th and 6th spots have yet to be filled. Members who exemplify activity, and show they are dedicated to the VEN as a whole, will be considered for these position. Now would be the time to impress us.

Keep your eyes open and an ear to the ground. More information will be available soon, as will the 5th and 6th pilots.

It should be noted that this squadron does NOT take precedence over the regular squadrons (Viper and Kaph). These privateer operations happen outside the standard VEN time line, at a time that is neither before and/or after any events that have and will take place in the official VEN time line. I personally like the idea of being named after a five-headed dragon god.

Reaper has already been decided, and as the Tiamut was an active service ship it provides a link between this operation and the VE. Hence, the renaming of the ship to the Acheron, which was one of the rivers that ran into Hades: the river of woe and fear.

I think it's quite appropriate.

Well, I dont think the Tiamat really saw all that much service - I think we could get away with it :P

Edit: Oh, and Imbram - I wouldnt recommend any violent actions against the guy who can shut off the life support in the pilot's quarters :P

Willt, no offence but you have no control over us and what we do. You could literally delete the Tiamut from existence, and we'd still write about using it as well as the name change, and you couldn't do anything about it, because you can't dictate what comes out my mouth...or fingers...even...

But I'm with Gshlecc on this one, Demonic has been appointed as the leader of the operation, so his decisions stand...unless Den, who is is superior, wants to jump in.

The Tiamut, unlike many other ships in the VE's Navy is an actual object. As it, it resides in someone's inventory viewable via the roster and can be transfered from person to person.
