Reason for joining the Empire: His ship destroyed. His payment gone. Captured as a mercenary working for the Rebels. It was either the Empire or jail time.
Talon attended the best of schools as a child. Little is known of his family, as the only relative known is his cousin. After being captured by First Sergeant Trigit as a mercenary working for the New Republic, Talon joined the Vast Empire's Army, rather than being thrown in jail. At the rank of Sergeant, he began to reflect on his short training in the Force by his only link to the past, a "friend of the family" who took Talon and his cousin in when their parents died. Seeking to finish his training, he found Dark Jedi Master Atrus. Much as Whistler did when Talon was a child, Atrus took Talon under his wing, giving him special training, and after becoming a Dark Jedi knight, letting him join Griffen Sect. After the death of his Master, mentor, and friend; Talon was given command of Griffen Sect and given the position of Warden. Atrus' death plagued Talon for some time. In a battle with the Dark Lord behind Atrus' killing, Talon was wounded. Fallen, he began to embrace death, but instead, had a vision of his former Master. Atrus told Talon that he had the power to destroy Alchamir with the hate that burned through his soul. Renewed in stregth, Talon struck down the cowardly Dark Jedi Master. After that, Talon learned to accept his Master's death. Researching Krath lore and meditation began to become more frequent than lightsaber training, and as a result, Talon's knowledge of the Dark Side grew. His ability to wield his lightsaber suffered only slightly, but with a better knowledge of the Dark Side, lightsabers became a secondary tool.
