Welcome to the Imperial Naval Academy (VENA), Roth.  I am the Officer of Training (TO) and I, along with the Training Executive Officer (TX), Tomas, our final Trainer, C-3PX2, and our only operator, Ibram Tyrol, will be taking you through our training system known as Basic Training (BT).  The four of us staff members make up what is known as the academy staff (VENA-S).  We like our abbreviations, no?  Don't give up yet!  The good part's just ahead!

You've actually already finished the first portion, known as Imperial Initiation (II)- you really just had to find your way here and make a thread to do that, though.  The second half is a bit more challenging and is known as Flight School (FS)- here you'll learn about the basics of flight, your equipment and what it takes to be an active member of one of our fighter groups.  If you'll visit Flight School and take a look at Chapter 1 entitled "Character Creation," you'll be well on your way to completing the first portion of FS.  Once you've got a bio written up, simply post it here and one of our trainers will be along to post their comments and further instructions.  In the meantime, if you're looking to get an idea of our club and its members, I highly encourage you to explore the rest of the ComNet and jump onto our IRC server, via either our free chat applet (jIRC) or the downloadable version known as mIRC.  Either way, I hope the best to ya in the future here, Roth; welcome to the Imperial Naval Academy.

Hello Roth, I'm Ibram Tyrol, one of your Operators.

I like your Bio, it's well constructed and well written, however i have a number of points to make:

- Whilst your mention of the Force is permissible in this instance (you refer to it as an "unknown force", which reflects the current state of affairs - noone really knows what Jedi or the Force are at the moment) you must remember that you can't make too many references to it, and you also can't directly name it as "the force".

(There are a few exceptions, but you'll discover those as you go along.)

- You're reasons for joining the vast empire are a bit...random lol. It would be better if you expanded on that bit more, maybe have the VE influence your early life in some way, or even connect the stranger to the VE, and so your character enlists to find out more about him/her...

Apart from those two points, your Bio is pretty much spot on. You may now pass on to Chapter II, provided you go back and make the edits i suggested. Well done Crewman.

Basic Information

Name: Roth Leber

Height/Weight: 6’3”, 186 pounds

Home Planet: Corellia

Physical Description: He is well toned and muscular, stands tall and firm. He has closely clipped brown hair, green eyes, and is almost always scowling; his nose looks like it has been broken, more than once. His body almost always appears tense, as if anticipating an attack at any moment.

Emotional Description: On the surface, he is calm, but rarely kind. He never thinks about others, almost to the point of cruelty, and considers an order to be a recommendation, especially when the command is to revert to formation. His true flaw, however, is his anger. His anger is quick to rise, and slow to withdraw. It is like a poison that clouds his mind in his untrained state, especially if he is to work in a squadron. He doesn’t seek authority, but seeks power instead. I would classify his pilot personality as a bandit.

History: He grew up as a homeless child on the streets of Corellia, and quickly joined a gang of thieves as his replacement family. His gang, nothing but a group of children, there were many such gangs, had constant wars  He had seen many things, children killing children, which desensitized him to many violent actions. More that once, his gang was ambushed, cutting the gang’s numbers low.

In one such ambush, Roth, by now a well toned young teenager, was grabbed from behind and pummeled mercilessly, breaking his nose for the first time, his anger grew, and none of his attackers survived. Since then he has trained in melee fighting almost daily, until he got his first blaster, he stole if off some drunken wastoid in a cantina.

He practiced with it, and then held many rich people up for money, until he attempted to hold up a strange man in an unknown uniform. The man dodged Roth’s bolt, then charged, hitting Roth square on the chin.  Roth’s anger burned hot, and he attacked the strange man, who held him at bay with immense strength and speed, and flung him aside as if he were nothing. The man smiled, trying to goad him, and Roth grew blind with rage, but to no avail. Another punch this time to the side, knocking Roth into nothingess.

The man took his leave, laughing at Roth manically, the only thing he could hear was the man, who responded to a call on an unseen comlink about reporting back to Naval HQ. When he woke up, he remembered the fight and looked around. The only thing he saw was his blaster, lying several feet away, and a piece of paper, a recruitment poster for a new army. A small snarl of hardly controlled anger escaped his lips, and he headed to this new army, the Vast Empire.

Ahh, I see that now, thank you for pointing it out to me.

Offensive Defensive:

Break Turn: Used for multiple reasons, avoids fire, shakes enemy fighter, gains better firing angle on target, and is done by pitching sharply, creating a shorter turn radius.

Barrel Roll Attack: Used when over shooting the target, Roll wings level, pull hard up, and roll away from the turn. This will leave you with a better angle on your target. It can also be used to shake an attacker, then gain a firing angle.
