Greetings Crewman Arkan, welcome to the Vast Empire. My name is Ibram Tyrol, and I will be you're operator whilst you train here at the Academy. If you have any questions at all, simply go to the message centre and type in my full name into the recipient's box, along with your queries. To get you started, I'm now going to direct you to our wiki page, where most of the training materials are kept. This can be found here.To begin your training, you must first create your character. Having clicked on the link above, you can navigate to the page by clicking on Basic Training, Flight School, and then Chapter 1 (quick link: here) Before going to Flight School, you may want to give Imperial Initiation (II) a quick read - it gives a brief introduction to life as a pilot in the star wars universe. Once you have followed the instructions set out in Chapter 1, please post it here for marking, and we can advance you along to the next stage. Whilst you train, I also recommend you get onto IRC (Or Instant Rely Communication). Most, if not all of the Vast Empire's active members frequent the IRC channels, so you will be able to find many a friend and mentor in this place. To get onto IRC, either follow the "JavaChat" link from the main page (It's in the left hand column) or download an IRC client (e.g. mIRC) and follow the instructions in the MainComnet forum. A native of Kuat. Arkan Eisenhorn Thran worked for the drive yards as cheap labour in the times of Emperor Palpatine. His father is unknown to him as is his mother. As he was orphaned he worked for the Kuat Drive Yards from the age of 16 which gave him an insight to the war machines of the Navy that few pilots in the navy that wern't in the drive yards can match.This contributes to the lack of info on himself that he could provide for the recruitment officers which infuriated them at first but as they learned Arkan's qualities in spacecraft knowledge this was quickly overridden.
Although he is calm and efficient in the workplace and precise in his branch as a hull welder of the Star Destroyers of the old navy he can be ignorant of others and impatient when waiting to attest to this he has an augmetic right hand from a welding accident. He is an averagely built man with a severed nerve ending in his left index finger which dulls the reflexes of that hand.
Arkan was 20 when the officer came for him and others he was chosen for his already
fair knowledge of the inner workings of most Imperial spacecraft also because of his close contact with other conscripts to the yards he speaks several languages this was more than enough to convince the Imperial officers of his worth to the Imperial Navy.He was taken to an Imperial administration building nearby and slowly that room began to fill with hopefuls for the Navy and Stormtrooper Corp after what felt like a day but as his watch stubbornly insisted was but 5 hours he was taken by aircar to a landing field in which a massive Imperial Star Destroyer sat. He admired the final product of the ship which he later understood to be the Imperial class Star Destroyer The Avenger. He took one last look at the Drive yards of Kuat and then he turned to take one last look at Kuat the place of his lowly upbringing to the hanger bay doors of the Star Destroyer and foward to his new life in the Imperial Navy Arkan Thran

The Rollaway
The rollaway is similar to the high speed yo-yo
the principle behind this is to rolaway on a enemy fighters turn at an 180 degree angle to effictively place your self behind the enemy
Aerial flip
the aerial flip is a complex manouvere which can only be done with repulsorlift engines.
In the middle of a wide turn the pilot stalls the aircraft and pulls a small loop which appears like a flip because of how quick it happens.if it is not precise the TIE could crash. The enemy craft should pass under the TIE as the pilot is in mid manouvere.The pilot then accelerates to keep this new advantage. more skilled pilots are able to line up their laser cannons so as the pilot can open fire at point blank range and therefore annihalating the target utterly.
The pilot must decelerate to lower the gravity to zero and sudenly accelerate to keep on top of the enemy fighter

Hello Arkan, sorry for taking so long.
Your Bio is good for the moment, nice back history. You may need to expand on it a bit in the future, but its ok for now, only a couple of comments:
- Your character has to be at least 16 to join the armed forces.
- Your character seems a bit young to be working in the drive yards. I doubt KDY was like the early 19th Century where kids were used as slaves lol
If you can work on both of these, then that would be great.
Your manouvres are also spot on.
Once you have tweaked your profile, you may then move onto Chapter III, the final stage before the exam. "I'm no Physician, but there appears to be a dagger through my chest."

Alright- looks like you've got the final position for our two open squadrons at the moment: you're now Viper 11, Arkran. I'll still need your Aviator's Exam, but at least you've got something to occupy your time in your off time, lol. You'll want to report to the Viper Thread and ask for any further instructions or information; however, I'm pretty sure they'll be redirecting you to the Nazgul Squadron story "New People waiting on the Old." It was just for new members to Nazgul, but since both Nazgul and Viper are in the same boat (their squadron stories are both about ready to finish up) all of the new recruits have been forwarded to the same story.
Mind you that a number of members who have recently joined squadrons have not posted on this thread yet: we're lookin for someone with some guts, lol. So- don't be afraid to post: just do it, even if you think you're going to screw it up- that doesn't matter: we're going to try and get you to overcome the fear of posting. What I'd suggest is that you incorporate one of those new members that hasn't posted yet (Stormz is probably your best bet, but definitely try either DanteDevant or Jaron) into one of your story post. Then- send 'em a message through message center and ask that they write along with you- then the two or three or however many of you can write as a group together- it's a lot more entertaining that way, lol. If you have any questions, comments or concerns, just leave 'em here or contact myself or anyone else on the staff personally through message center. You will receive an answer.
