(Below is the customary message and instructions, but I gotta ask- where did you get that link for that academy site? Every once in a while people pop up asking why they can't log into that site, but it's not our academy site- was it in your initial e-mail from the VE? Any help in directing us would be great; thanks.)
Welcome to the Imperial Naval Academy (VENA), Basher. I am the Officer of Training (TO) and I, along with Training Executive Officer (TX), Tomas, our final Trainer, C-3PX2, and our only operator, Ibram Tyrol, will be taking you through our training system, known as Basic Training (BT). The four of us staff members make up what is known as the academy staff (VENA-S). We like our abbreviations, huh? Don't give up yet! The good part's just ahead!
You've actually already finished the first portion, known as Imperial Initiation (II)- you really just had to find your way here and make a thread to do that, though. The second half is a bit more challenging and is known as Flight School (FS)- here you'll learn about the basic of flight, your equipment and what it takes to be an active member of one of our fighter groups. If you'll visit Flight School and take a look at Chapter 1 entitled "Character Creation," you'll be well on your way to completing the first portion of FS. Once you've got a bio written up, simply post it here and one of our trainers will be along to post their comments and further instructions. In the meantime, if you're looking to get idea of our club and its members, I highly encourage you to explore the rest of the ComNet and jump onto our IRC server, via either our free chat applet (jIRC) or the downloadable version known as mIRC. Either way, I hope the best to ya in the future here, Basher; welcome to the Imperial Naval Academy.

Character Bio:
Name: Marcus Siazon
Call Sign: Basher
Age: 28
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 160 lbs.
Eye: Blue/Gray
Hair: Bald
Psychical Description:
Medium height Marcus is more built like a Strom Trooper, but his agility and reflexes brought him into the Navy academy to become a pilot. His blue/gray eyes have a wired effect on people when he looks at them they say its like he's looking into our souls which a lot of people have also said that he may know when you're lying or telling the truth. His face is very square like with a strong jaw showing strength.
Emotional Description:
Marcus is very gruff around the edges. This is from his father walking out on him and his mother plus his mother dying from complications in the birthing process this put Marcus into an orphanage (not sure if the empire has these or not). This has made Marcus very jaded about any kind of relationships including ones while in space which is dangerous for him and his wingman or vice versa.
But over the years this has changed only when he is flying through his training he has learned to trust people again and it is also slowly showing in his personal life.
History:
His father left his mother when he learned of her pregnancy and then my mother dying of complications Marcus was forced into an orphanage where he spent 18 years of his life. When he got out he started looking for a place to stay, but he had no money. A mechanic by the name of Daultay Dofine a Duros who taught him how to fix ships and also how to fly them and use navigational charts and how plot courses.
Marcus stayed with Daultay Dofine until he turned 21 when he was old enough to join the Imperial Navy.
**I'll add more history after I finish the academy not sure what else to add for my history.

Welcome back, Basher, and don't worry about the history being in too great of detail: for now, as we like to say, your bio is more of a working outline. As you progress in the Navy and become more involved with stories, that background and history will evolve- naturally. So: don't worry too much about that; however, I do have some concepts I want you to keep in mind.
First: always try and proofread just a little bit- we're not perfectionist and we don't expect you to be one, but whenever you want a superior officer to view something, whether it's me or your Squadron Commander (SC), then you want to make sure you're not missing words, misspelling words (there's a spell-check right above the text box to help ya with that), and that it makes, for the most part, grammatical sense by using commas and periods. That being said, it also shows a bit of experience and members see the ability to do the aforementioned as a sign of maturity: I'm sure you'll develop those skills in time, but I thought I'd mention it anyway.
Second: Generally, the rebels don't attack without cause: that's what the old Empire did, but the rebels are far less likely to kill indiscriminately than any Imperial Faction. Granted, you can say they were killed by Rebels without mentioning the reason, leaving that for later development, but I don't want you to have in mind that the rebels just killed your character's family for no reason: you'll either want to develop a stronger reasoning or find a new reason why you're here altogether. Like I said- this is a working outline: who knows- in two months your character's parents might not be dead anymore and your character actually joined because he thought he was signing up for the reserves or something, lol. Either way, we've brought these things to your attention and I hope you'll spend a little time thinking about them in the future. You've included physical and emotional descriptions and put in most of the important materials: as soon as you're satisfied with your bio: so are we
Thus, I'm going to pass you for this part of BT and move you on to Chapter 2. Note that there is a short assignment at the end where you'll need to describe two maneuvers- post them on this thread. Note, however, that we're currently willing to hear any maneuvers that you may have in mind that are not on our wiki pages: we're always looking for new maneuvers, and, if yours is reasonable, it's likely it will be added to our maneuvers page. You may also suggest brief tactics.

I decided to change some stuff in my bio also heres the maneuvers.
The Break Turn:
This can be used for offensive and defensive flying.
Offensive: It allows you to get a target by using your break to sharply turn into them.
Defensive: You'll use to throw an enemy off of your tail by using your break and turning while pitching very sharply to force your opponent to turn at a sharper angle.
The Barrel Roll:
Again this one can be for offensively or defensively.
Offensive: You'll use it if you overtake your enemy to fast by rolling slightly and pitching this allows you to stay behind your enemy and not end up in front of their gun sights.
Defensive: You'll use this to force your attacker to over shoot you so there'll end up in front of your gun sights. The barrel roll for defensive maneuvers is the same for offensive maneuvers.

I believe Tomas can, but only when Shazam is on leave. I don't know Shazam's current active status, so you should probably wait for him. One thing you'll have to learn in this club is patience, people have to put real life before the VE, so just sit and wait. They'll get to you, don't panic.

I've just checked, and i think Me and C-3 can pass them through the stages, but not grade their final exam. It's not exactly clear thought.
Oh well, it's not like I'm going to get shot or anything.
Well done Basher, very good work. I hereby pass you on to the next and final stage of your Basic Training. Please read the materials relevant to Chapter 3.
Good luck.

Thanks for the compliments, Basher (they're nice to here ), and sorry about the wait- some of the rules and way we run the staff has been changing and I, unfortunately, neglected to specify some of these things. Either way, cahoots to Ibram on figuring out that he can pass you through these. In fact, everyone in the Naval Academy, currently, can pass new recruits from chapter to chapter; however- only Tomas and myself and place people and grade exams at this point. Hopefully Ibram caught that?
Now for what I usually do around here, lol- note you can choose to ignore this information or use it to your benefit, Basher, but either way it's here and you can ask questions, add comments or share your concerns here. Today we'll cover money and possessions
Recall that in your initial message, certain items were given to you- where did they come from? You might be wondering where you see and buy all of these items? If you look down the left hand side of the main page in the navigation, you'll see that you have a First Galactic Bank account- that's where these items are stored. Most of these items will be purchased through the link located directly under the Bank's; the Imperial Center Store is the primary mode of purchasing for members in the VE- perhaps you'd like to shop around yourself? Note that if you're short on cash, the Pay Per Click link, also in the navigation, allows you to earn easy ICs and help the VE community at the same time. Until next time- carry on, Basher.

Squadron: Flight School
Position: Trainee
Rank: Not sure
Activity: Worked on getting the flight chapters completed. Taking a look at some of the other posts that people have made and getting a feel how logging is done here.
Upcoming Plans: Passing this final chapter and getting placed into a squadron and taking the final exam. Also having fun logging and SIMM'ing with the lot of you.
Questions/Suggestions: Do all the stories connect to a main story line? Like would a Storm Trooper story line cross over into a Navy Story line? Also waht do I need to buy from the store?
Hopefully this is correct

Hey Basher. Good Mock report, pretty much what we expect. Don't worry, as you get placed and get more involved, the report will pretty much write itself. The only thing you forgot was your're ID line, which goes at the end of all official communications here at the VE. I'll use mine as an example: FL/PO1 Tyrol/Viper 9/mSSD Atrus/1W/1FL/VEN/{=*A*=}{=*SA*=}/[NER] Go here for a tutorial on ID line creation. As to your questions: Only on some occasions do Army and Navy stories link...it doesn't always work so i think the administration is reluctant to do too many of them. The Navy stories usually link to each other, but pretty much do their own thing. And you don't NEED to buy anything from the store its all voluntary. Well done.

If you want to send me the Aviator's exam as well Basher, I may be able to grade it sooner (not sure of Shazam's schedule ... thought he was supposed to be on leave, but he's been pretty active).
Also, I encourage you to create a wiki page for your character. Examples can be found here. If you need any help let me know. (Feel free to copy the wiki code from my profile as desired and change the info to match your own).
You will be placed real soon. Just trying to get a handle on which squadron is in more need of pilots.
