Welcome to the Imperial Naval Academy, Gshlecc- hell of a name ya got there. And did you get our automessage? I'm still trying to figure out if it's actually being sent just yet- I know Kadann has it, but I thought I'd confirm anyways; either way- welcome to Basic Training (BT). I'm Shazam, the Officer of Training (TO) and my colleagues and I will be taking you through our training system. You've actually already finished the first portion, known as Imperial Initiation (II)- you really just had to find your way here and make a thread to do that, though. The second half is a bit more challenging and is known as Flight School (FS)- here you'll learn about the basic of flight, your equipment and what it takes to be an active member of one of our fighter groups. If you'll visit Flight School and take a look at Chapter 1 entitled "Character Creation," you'll be well on your way to completing the first portion of FS. Once you've got a bio written up, simply post it here and one of our trainers will be along to post their comments and further instructions. In the meantime, if you're looking to get idea of our club and its members, I highly encourage you to explore the rest of the ComNet and jump onto our IRC server, via either our free chat applet (jIRC) or the downloadable version known as mIRC. Either way, I hope the best to ya in the future here, Gshlecc; welcome to the Imperial Naval Academy.

'''Personal:'''
----
Born 9 BBY in Imperial City on Coruscant to Huur and Jahree Atrasin. Eldest of two boys. Younger brother Bedav born 7 BBY.
'''Physical Description:'''
----
Standing 1.8 m. tall and 94 kg G'shlecc has a medium build. He has dark Brown hair that in recent years has aquired flecks of silver. His hair is worn in a short style that borders on spikey, with sideburns that fall to his jawline. He also sports a Soul Patch with a small scruff of chin whiskers that show far more grey than his years should warrant.
His most stiking feature are his Brown/Black eyes. His eyes hold a piercing quality that tends to unnerve most people when he locks his gaze upon them.
He has a small scar running 1 cm across his lower lip, the product of a childhood mishap.
'''Personality:'''
----
Always a quiet and introverted child, G'schlecc forced himself to become an agressive and outgoing adult. He will usually be the first to introduce himself in a group, and the first to strike up a conversation. This being said he will also melt into a crowd and observe. He tends to pick choice bits of information from his aqqaintences and measure their strengths and weaknesses. He is fiercely loyal to friends, and viciously cruel to enemies. He tends to be extremely sensitive to insult and known to remember slights for decades.
'''History:'''
----
Born in the last decade of Palpatine's rule G'shlecc was the product of an ill-conceived marriage. His parents Huur Atrasin, youngest son of a minor Atoran noble, and Jahree Omsta, a Corelian actress, met during a performance on Coruscant. Huur was smitten by the stunning Jahree and they eloped withing days of meeting. The marriage lasted a little over a decade, during which there was much internal strife. Jahree could not reconcile herself to the expectations of Huur to become a wife and mother. Soon after the fall of Palpatine, Jahree left the young family and was never seen again. Her fate remains unknown. Huur Atrasin did his best to raise G'shlecc and Bedav. The boys were sent to the best private schools and had the best nannies that credits could buy. Try as he might, Huur was a distant father. He spent much of his time pursuing wealth and profit. G'shlecc became an emotionally withdrawn child, and developed a brooding and introverted personality. He kept to himself, forming few friendships. Those that he had were intense and steadfast.
Upon his graduation from the University of Kalla he tried his hand at business. He entered the employ of the Kuat Drive Yards. He spent the next decade rising the corporate ladder. Even though he was succesful in the realm of commerce his daily exposure to the shipyards fed his hunger for adventure. Seeking to reinvent himself and break away from the life he had created he joined the Imperial Navy as a Pilot.
In the Imperial army it takes more courage to retreat than advance.

Nice job on the bio, Gshlecc. Can't say I've seen a character with that background before.
For the second step, take a look at Chapter 2 at the Flight School link Shazam posted above. In short, your assignment is to describe two of the flight maneuvers in your own words. If you have one (or even two) that aren't listed there we by all means encourage you to use them (and they will be posted alongside the rest of them).
Keep up the good work.

I'll have to agree with Tomas- short but just right, Gschlecc. Anywho, thought I'd pop in and drop off some more information; I'll be doing that occasionally. These aren't instructions, mind you, but simply bit sand pieces of information about our club that you might find useful-
You might be wondering where you see and buy all of these items? Recall that in your initial message, certain items were given to you- where did they come from? If you look down the left hand side of the main page in the navigation, you'll see that you have a First Galactic Bank account- that's where these items are stored. Most of these items will be purchased through the link located directly under the Bank's; the Imperial Center Store is the primary mode of purchasing for members in the VE- perhaps you'd like to shop around yourself? Note that if you're short on cash, the Pay Per Click link, also in the navigation, allows you to earn easy ICs and help the VE community at the same time. Until next time- carry on, Gschlecc.

Low Yo-yo:
Attacker is behind me. Break left and go into negative-g drop. Bleed off speed and allow attacker to shoot past. Level off, break right while increasing speed and pull up behind attacker. Kill.
Split S:
Attacker pulling away. Break left, and go into negative-g drop. Roll inverted. Continue dive gaining speed. Pull up and over. Roll inverted again. Accelerate behind target. Kill.
Double take:
Attacker behind. Pull up and hit airbrakes and level off. Attacker tries same pull up, hit airbrakes a second time and level off. Attacker breaks right or left. Break left or right, roll and come up behind. Kill.
In the Imperial Navy it takes more courage to retreat than advance.

Thankyou for the additional maneuver, Gshlecc, and good job on the other two. With that in mind, I believe you're ready for the final chapter of our training process: the squadron. I'll need you to read the article called "The Squadron" and post a report of your activities thus far, as would be expected in an actual squadron. Now, this report doesn't have to be incredibly detailed, but reports are often breif and include the information that an officer needs to know as well as might like to know- primarilly what you've been up to for the week. Note that every squadron is different and you might send your reports to varying people- it could just be your flight lead (FL), but it could also, very well, be both your Squadron Commander (SC) and Executive Officer (XO) as well. Try to make them neat, but also concise- they are, after all, a reflection of your week's work: make 'em look good
Also, should you find the time, now would be an excellent opportunity to get your wiki character profile created- you can find a walkthrough here. If you have any questions about it, however, simply leave your questions here or contact us via IRC; most people could probably help you on IRC, actually. Regardless, the wiki character profile doesn't have to be done for me to put you in a squadron, so as long as you give me a report and read those materials, then I can put you into an active fighter group. If you're ever curious about where you are in those fighter groups, once you're assigned, simply check the Roster, found in that same left-hand navigation on the main page; once you're in, click the "Roster" option underneath "Imperial Navy."
Now, just to clarify, for your maneuver- I presume you meant something like this? If not, it's not difficult to correct or redraw them in general, lol. Also, for the sake of my understanding, did you grab this maneuver from another place or was it known as something else before you dubbed it the "Double Take." These type of facts can make it even easier for people to understand exactly what your maneuver is if they can't understand our descriptions or drawings.

Double Take was an adjustment of something I saw in a film once. If found elsewhere, pure coincidence. Drawing is correct.

G'shlecc Atrasin's Report:
Activity: This week I joined the Imperial Navy and began training. I created my bio/history, and my Wiki page. I purchased a few items from Imperial Center, and enrolled in benefit packages. I started Pay Per Click.
Upcoming Plans: Finish Flight School and start my Imperial service.
Questions/Suggestions: Squad Callsingn (Kaph 1) is assigned. Are we allowed to have a personal Callsign (ie. Maverick, Goose)?

Great work on completing all of the assignments, Gshlecc- and in reply to your question about callsigns: you hold authorial dictate on what you are and are not called. However, to be consistent and to kind of follow with what I like to call "Fictional Realism," we tend to use callsigns with squadron designations like - "Kaph 10," as you mentioned. Why? It's more ambiguous and an enemy listening in wouldn't be able to pick up who they were fighting against quite as easily; if our groups were more infamous, it's likely they'd change their names every time, but their numbers would be the same. Again, though- if you've got a nickname that's not especially specific like "kid" or "ace" - well I don't see any kind of problem with that. Hell, if you wanna use maverick- whatev, lol.
Now that you've completed all of the chapters of our training process, on behalf of myself and the rest of my training staff I'd like to congratulate you and give you the customary *nod* of the head, lol. Note that we haven't quite cut the umbilical cord just yet- in a week's time we'll have wanted to receive a copy of your Aviator's Exam: so a week from today it should be to us. But to the good stuff: completion of training means a couple of things- firstly, that you will be assigned to a squadron, in your case: Nazgul Squadron, and that you are now branded as well as honored with that squadron's name- your actions reflect on your fighter group. Secondly, that you are now expected to be what is called "active," meaning that you will do all in your power to sustain the life and health of your squadron through your personal efforts to posts and communicate with other members of your group. This activity also involves the continuous cycle of weekly reporting- make it a habit, Gshlecc: your squadron commanders will certainly appreciate your dedication to keeping them informed. And lastly- that you are entitled to having a great time in this club and that you should take advantage of as many opportunities to succeed and enjoy your time here as possible- this club is about having a good time above all, so make sure you keep it that way. If you ever run into problems or just aren't feeling your squadron or flight isn't doing the job, it's your job to report it: don't die out and disappear, Gshlecc: don't be afraid to speak up.
So with all of that in mind- find your way to the Naval Main ComNet and introduce yourself to your fellow squadron members- you are now Nazgul 11. Note that your FL is currently on a short leave due to computer problems and will probably return in the next few days, and that the other member of your squadron is pretty new to the game as well: you'll need to be supportive of yourself and others- they'll show the same generosity back. And, if you really wanna enhance your chances at success in your squadron- find your way onto IRC and meet some of your fellow members, especially the members of your squadron and, in particular, your flight. You'll find that a squadron can become a great group of friends or a distant group of people you happen to write with- include yourself and get to know people. Trevor Evenson and Rogue are also on often, so there's and excellent opportunity to meet with your commanding officers right off the bat. Now that I've spoken quite enough, I hope to see your Aviator's Exam within the next week and your future success, Gshlecc- the best to you. Welcome to the Imperial Navy.
