First Assignment:The Vertical Reverse:When you have completed a maneuver that calls for a vertical climb, but your assignment is behind you, your best bet is the Vertical Reverse. Climb vertically until you have lost sufficient flying speed, then point your nose to the ground and descend. You’ll have to make sure you don’t pick up so much speed that you start to lose control of your craft. Also, it’s recommended to do this in gravity-rich environments. The VR can also be used to reposition yourself for another attack.
Also, make sure your craft is capable of low-speed adjustments and changes before attempting this, as craft as fast as the TIE Interceptor may be forced into a stall or get into otherwise particularly dangerous problems.
While you’re descending, also turn your fighter around so you can successfully go back the way you came.
The High-Speed Yo-Yo:Say you need to get behind your attacker. If you’re in a high-speed capable ship and actually ‘pushing the petal to the metal’ and so is your attacker, then a Yo-Yo would be a safe bet.
Roll your craft inverted and slightly vertical when your enemy has broke hard an is going into a tight turn. Simply descend from behind him and into his 9 o’clock position, or 3 o’clock, depending on which way he’s turned.
You can use this in a variety of high-speed chases where you are on his targeting sensors just to turn the tables, but it should be used sparingly as there are numerous counters to the High-Speed Yo-Yo that may just turn the tables in the way you weren’t expecting.
