Part 1: Fragment
----- Deep Space -----
5 months after the Battle of Endor.
Slowly, the fleet drifted through the inky blackness of space. It was a large cargo fleet, destined for Rylor 4, it's contents a closly guarded military secret. For months now, the fleet had moved from system to system, collecting each piece of the puzzle. Each planet had been set up to produce a specific part of the mechanism, and no two planets ever knew about what the other was building. It was a massive weapon, apparently cappable of destroying worlds...
And now it was complete.
Five star destroyers sat at full stop, thier noses pointed inward like some geomitrists version of a pizza. Each had a large, bulky device taking up most of the forward superstructure of the ship. It looked like some sort of malignant groth, made out of metal and durasteel...
In a word, monsterous.
General Bazerine surveyed the assembled parties, taking out the last order he had been given by the emporer. This weapon was a failsafe, should the Death Star fail, the empire would still have power to destroy the infested worlds... to rid the contamination.
"General? Your orders, sir?" one of the helmsmen asked, timidly.
Bazerine hezitated. If something should go wrong... He dismissed the thought immediatly.
"Fire."
the Helmsman echoed the order through the comm, and immediatly each of the Star Deastroyers started powering the devices. Crackling traces of blue energy seemed to jump frfom the devices, and caused funny spiderwebbing patters to trace the ships... it was almost time.
A large astroid floated into view... the perfect target. Without a second hesitation, the general gave the order. "Fire, on that asteroid."
Five brilliant beams of blue light shot up from the assembled star destroyers and hit the astroid, covering it with the same crackling blue energy. For a moment, the astroid glowed bright... and then dissapeared in a blast of light... no debris, no proof it had ever existed.
A cheer went up around the bridge, and the general smiled with aproval... this was it, they were going to get the rebels once and for all... but then he saw something that made his smile fade.
The star destroyers gathered below were still laced with blue energy, and it seemed it was jumping from ship to ship... the reaction wasn't stopping. The energy jumped from one ship to the next, untill it reached the generals ship.
"Go to hyperspace, now!" Bazerine screamed.
"Where to..." a crewman tried to reply.
"JUST GO!" The general screamed.
With a flash, the flagship was gone... but not before being hit by a brilliant ray of blue energy.
Silence fell over the collected ships as they slowly vanished from space and the pages of all history...

Present
Slowly, Nymall eased
the Zephrim out of hyperspace. There was nothing out here, as the navcomp had predicted. Deep space.
Chaelise looked over the trandoshan's shoulder, and scanned the map herself. Empty space... the perfect place to calibrate. "Ok... looks like we're here. Let's get to seting up these craft." She said, giving Nymall a small punch on the shoulder, and recieving the iron hard glare of disaproval that followed. They had been friends long enough that pestering had become a pasttime.
Nymall leaned back from the controlls and silently waited. They had spent the majority of the last few days setting up drone fighters on the
Zephrim, and this was te first chance they had gotten to test them. Secrety, Nymall hoped it was worth the wait.
"The package is away..." Chaelise echoed through the comms as the becon was released. Leaning forward, Nymall punched a few buttons and waited.
The console infront of him turned into a grid like pattern, and was filled with five dots, each with a marker. One grey, which, of course was the
Zephrim, three yellow, which were the combat drones, and the red "enemy" probe. He watched in utter facination as green lines flashed back and forth acress the screen, indicating hits and misses.
Suddenly, another dot appeared on the screen. Reacting fast, Nymall pushed the buttons on the console and recalled the drones... but the dot remained... looking out the cockpit, he could see it.
A Star Destroyer.
It was a victory class star destroyer by the looks of it... blue electricity spiderwebbbed across the surface and it became slightly transparent for a second, and then swiftly reappeared. The energy disappated quickly.
"Chae... come here.. you need to see this..."
There was the sound of running footsteps as Chae ran up the gangplank and grabbbed the back of Nymall's chair, peering out the view window.
"Imperial star deastroyer... this is
The Zephrim... Imperial Star Destroyer... are you in distress... please come in..."
Silence.
"Give me a sec Chae... I'm going to contact high command... see what's going on."
