The only problem I forsee with beginning as an orginised thing here is that it is next to impossible to help each other. Sure, there are private games, but they don't affect your ladder rank or your missions. I play it to kill time now and again, and I'll admit it's rather adicting when you're decent at it. Check to see what the opposing characters are doing Cosmic. I know Lee, and some other characters, are able to power themselves up on a turn (Lee gives it away by losing 75% of his health), then if they hit you next turn you're finished.
Click on the opposing characters (and your own, actually) at the start of each turn to see what status effects are on them. Gaara and Lee are two I know can kill you in two turns if you don't notice the status effects.
I like to think I'm pretty good at this actually. Jumped up the ladder quickly. Just wish I didn't have to modify my team to put someone else in for a mission, cause now they suck. Gah I don't have it at the moment because I'm on my sidekick. What you can do though is go to the forums and go to the clans section, and then just look for TyKic clan. Should be somewhere around there.

I use Lee's 5th Gate and Whirlwind thing, but that still doesn't get rid of an opponent in one hit. It takes like 3 hits for me with 5th gate open.

Just by playing Ladder games you're already completing the first mission. All you have to do is defeat 10 Genin and then you get to move onto the next mission. Just look for the mission sections and it will show you. I presume for the harder missions though that you'll have to use certain characters which is really gonna suck.
Btw, what's everyone's record? My record is 7-8 and I'm on a 2+ win streak. Finally found a team that I'm really good with. |DARK DRAGOONS|

18-10, and a -1 unfortunately. I'm probably resetting though, as i ascended to Chuunin which results in some stiff competition. The missions I need to complete now require some teams that don't really suit my battle style. Fighting against people that don't know what they're doing is a real bonus.
And Cosmic, you might be having the same problem I had. When you press the fifth gate action, make sure you click on Lee's picture otherwise it wont work. I know that sounds like a really stupid thing to do to someone who doesn't know what I'm on about, but trust me, it's real easy to forget to do that. I still do it every now and again. The chuunin missions have me in trouble, because of the problem I explained before.
And the game does say a well designed team of basic characters can beat even the toughest, but I don't believe it. I got through in a fight as an Academy Student after my reset against a team of Tsunade, the 4th and Orochimaru.
I got good chakra flows and my moves worked, but they were just too strong to be beaten.
That's also what ruins my needed four game winning streak as well. To answer your question Dax, I think you can do it if you don't meet the rank requirements or something if you complete the missions. I think I'm about to lose this missions, but if I don't and I'm correct then you can indeed. So far I've got a +3 streat with kiba and the puppet guy in my team and +4 is what you need for one of the missions that you have to be a chuunin for, and I'm still a genin and chuunin is what you have to have to complete the mission, so. Getting the CS Sasuke requirements done now.
And I just lost my winning streak, started a match and got distracted by an msn conversation. By the time I remembered I was playing I was down to one badly beaten character.
