Welcome to the Navy, Lucan. You can find all the info you need to complete your training at the following site:
http://www.vastempire.com/wiki/index.php?title=Flight_School_%28FS%29
You'll start with step one and write a biography for your character and post it on this thread. If you have any questions feel free to ask me or one of the other academy staff. You can also look at examples of previous recruit's biographies here:
http://www.vastempire.com/wiki/index.php?title=Category:NavyMembers
I encourage you to get on IRC when you get a chance using either the "Java Chat", found under "Logistics" on the main page or getting mIRC ... if you choose the latter, you can find the "IRC Tutorial" under "Resources", also on the main page.
Once again, welcome to the Navy.

Here is the biography. I hope this encompasses everything you require, if not simply let me know and I will rectify any problems you come across. Quote:Basic Information Name: Lucan Morr Alias(es): None Gender: Male Species: Human Homeworld: Coruscant Age: 23
Body Information Height: 5'11 Weight: 181lbs Hair: Lucan's hair is a pitch black colour, and always appears to be quite sleek and pristine in appearance. Eyes: Lucan's eyes are a blue-silver colour, being quite unique in appearance. They put fear in those who see them, although few avoid this. Build: Lucan is quite well built, although he only appears to be averagely-so. He places strong faith in the fact that people are stupid, and take things how they first see them: because of this he makes himself appear to be quite average i.e not exceptionally fast, strong or intelligent. However he is all of those things in good amounts: he maintains quite a bit of strength behind him, and has enough grace and speed for a bit of light footwork if needed. His intelligence is what surprises most, however. But despite these things he still makes himself appear averagely-built, surprising his enemies and often coming out victorious. Clothing: At all times Lucan wears a plain, greg-blue shirt with a raised collar and golden cufflinks. The shirt is quite plain and only on extreme occasions does Lucan decorate the shirt with things such as pins or other ornamental items. Occasionally he wears leather black gloves. He also wears pants of the same colour as he shirt with polished black boots, boots that have iron in the heel to make a clicking sound when he approaches. A leather brown belt finishes the attire. Many say it makes him very military in appearance and sound.
Military Information Division: Navy Rank: Yet to be assigned Non-Combat Talents: o Able to understand most languages, and speak a variety, due to his extensive travels o Great understanding of many different cultures and races due to travelling, making him a skilled diplomat o Intelligence allows him to think of different tactics and battle palns Combat Talents: o Skills with leadership and piloting (though his skills piloting are not as much as his skills commanding, hence why he prefers to be on capital ships) o Skilled at most forms of combat due to family training: more skill with melee weapons than ranged o Able to adapt to situations quickly and efficiently
Personal Information
Personality: Lucan Morr is the epitome of everything that is considered Empire-like. He is a cold and calculating figure, always looking at situations carefully and appropriately before approaching them calmly. Lucan has little problems killing millions upon millions of innocent people if it will further his own political and military career, or sometimes just if they get in his way. Most people say that if Lucan was Force-Sensitive he would be a Sith because of his merciless and plainly evil actions and thoughts. Lucan goes off logic, and due to his intelligence his logic often comes out victorious, and few survive against him once he uses his brain to work out the correct solutions to problems. It is worrying to some that a Human without any Force-potential could be so cruel, manipulative and cold. Lucan's high intelligence gives him the ability and capactity to be patient and wait for his schemes to pan out, for he knows that rushing things can lead to the downfall of great Empires or the most simple of plans.
Biography: Lucan Morr was born on Coruscant into a family that was virtually comprised of all military members. His mother, father, three brothers, two sisters and uncle were all members of the military. Thus, Lucan was always destined to join them in military life, and at the age of three his father began giving him some basic training. Lucan was taught how to handle both ranged and melee weapons and also things such as piloting and military tactics. By the time he was nineteen he was more skilled than most members of his family even after their long service in the Military and having had years of training.
But Lucan did not join the Military as his family wished. Instead Lucan travelled the Galaxy, visiting different cultures and races and learning from them. He studied their languages, their customs, the things that made them unique to other races. He did this for many years, gathering an immense amount of knowledge from the different races and cultures he came across. Lucan eventually returned to Coruscant to see what his family were doing, only to find them all opposing the Empire for some unknown reason, and Lucan found himself opposing them in turn. Realizing that his destiny lay with the Empire, Lucan was not suprised when the he was ordered him to kill his own family as a sign of trust and loyalty. Lucan did so without hesitation, realizing that he now cared little for anything other than himself and the Empire. He had become, in effect, a Sith without the Force.
Lucan has since joined the Imperial Navy, and now prepares to start his new life within the Navy. He has ambitions, high ones, and he wishes to see himself commanding a ship and fighting for the Empire, crushing those who cannot stand in the midst of a firefight. Whatever order he is given, he will accomplish, regardless of the cruelty of malicious intent behind it. Lucan has learnt to detach himself from his emotions, making him a strong adversary for those who would oppose the Empire.

I believe this is the result of chapter II: Quote:Break Turn
The Break Turn is one of the most basic, and most common, maneuvers in the arsenal of an Imperial pilot, but it can also be one of the most effective. The Break Turn has a variety of different uses, both offensive and defensively, and these uses are what will help an Imperial Pilot stay alive in the harsh dogfights they are sure to encounter.
Now, offensively the Break Turn can be used to cut into someone's turn, meaning that you will be able to interrupt a turn they try and make and thereby force them into a different direction, most likely giving you the other hand. It can also be used when you wish to acquire a target that is far to one side, thereby achieving your goal in one quick and efficient move.
Defensively the Break Turn is very important, as it's uses will most defineatly help you survive within a dogfight, or any form of combat-situation. By enacting a Break Turn you can effectively avoid incoming fire quite easily, and it's possible that you will also be able to avoid any missiles coming your way. This will also force your enemy to work harder to achieve their goals of destroying you, but it will also give you time to re-think your tactics to gain the upper hand. The Break Turn can also be used to throw enemies off your tail: by the time they have enacted a Break Turn of their own to get you back in their line of sight, you will have had ample time to come up with a plan to defeat them.
Actually enacting a Break Turn is quite simple: one must simply turn sideways, either left or right, and pitch your starfighter very sharply, causing it to turn at a sharper turn radius, thereby achieving the Break Turn maneuver.
The Sandwich
The Sandwich. One of the oldest, most efficient and perhaps most common maneuvers available to pairs of pilots. To a pair of starfighters, having an enemy on your tail but knowing your companion is aware of the Sandwich maneuver is perhaps one of the greatest joys you can obtain, for you know your survival is all but guarenteed. The Sandwich maneuver allows a pair of starfighters to destroy an enemy that is on the tail of one starfighter, by giving the second starfighter time to move into position and fire a critical shot, thereby destroying the enemy and ensuring the survival of both pilots.
To enact the Sandwich maneuver, one must wait for a single starfighter to come under fire from the rear, by a single enemy. The starfighter that has come under attack must then break formation and move swiftly to either the left or the right, and ensure that they are followed by their enemy. If he is followed, then this is the time for the wingman to move neatly into place behind the enemy, in order to destroy them before the enemy even realizes that he too is being followed.
Caution!: Extreme care must be used when enacting this maneuver. The wingman must ensure that his leading crewman is not hit when attempting to destroy the enemy, or at least ensure that his crewman is outside the danger area before attempting to destroy the enemy via missiles. Caution must be observed during this manuever.

I do try. I had a slight problem with compiling the Report: I was unsure what to place at the very bottom. The template has this: "2nd Lieutenant Arturus Nazgul 2 ID Line" but I was unsure what mine would have been, so for now I have left this. Quote:Lucan Morr's Report: November 16th, 2007 Activity: This week I have joined the VE Navy, and have worked to complete the assignments given to me via the Naval Academy. After reporting in I first created my character biography, and then went on to chapter two of the Flight Manual and noted down two manuevers from the "Defensive and Offensive Page", choosing the Break Turn and Sandwich maneuvers. I then began work on this report, and also creating a wiki page for myself. Upcoming plans: I intend to continue working with the Flight Manual to complete all the assignments given to me, and to finish the wiki page I am beginning to make for myself. I also intend to take the Aviation Test I have discovered at the end of the Flight Manual, before hopefully completing the Basic Training and being assigned to a flight squadron. Questions/Suggestions: None
I'm also creating my wiki page now. I'll link to that once it's done. What is my rank, pray tell? It asks for it there, so I was just wondering if I have one to designate as of yet.

Ah, ok...to close out your report (once assigned to a squadron) you would put the following...
Crewman Lucan Morr
(Squadron) (Position)
(ID Line)
You can learn how to create your ID Line here:
http://www.vastempire.com/wiki/index.php?title=Naval_ID_Lines
Seeing as how creating your ID line is actually part of the Aviator's Exam, you don't have to do it now. I hereby pass you for Chapter Three. You have now graduated from Basic Training, and the Training Officer, Shazam should be on sometime this weekend to place you in a squadron.
In the meantime, feel free to begin working on the Aviator's exam while you wait.
Congratulations.

I have completed my Aviator's Exam, and sent it to the Training Academy email address provided on the VE Wiki page. I hope this is acceptable.
