    From a distance, the Malachor appeared similar to thousands of others, with a dull, dying sun at its core, a small, lone planet, and thousands of captured comets and asteroids in erratic orbits around its slowly weakening gravity. It was only when one entered the system and approached the apparent planet that it was possible to realize the cataclysm that occured there countless centuries ago.

What had seemed to be a planet was a massive cloud of debris with compressed metal and rock at its core, giving the cloud an area to congregate around and generating the illusion of a planet. Scattered for miles around the planetoid was wreckage some of it millenia old, and the debris of a world that had once lived and breathed. Its destruction had changed the face of the galaxy forever, despite its apparant worthlessness. Here and there, wreckage collided with the remain of the planet, sending fragments back into the void.

It was on this awesome sight that Captain Rabadash gazed. An unpleasant smile appeared on his face as he saw what he had been waiting for.
