Howdy

Thought I'd be the first to welcome you; I'm the Officer of Training (TO) and I'll be assigning you to a squadron at the end of your training here, so remember this face when you reach the end. In the meantime, let me tell you a little bit about what's going to happen in your time here:
Here in the Academy, our job, (we meaning the Vast Empire Naval Academy Staff [VENA-S]), is to give you the essentials to getting into a squadron: an adequate biography of your character and some understanding of the equipment you'll be using, as well as a few tactics. From there you'll be assigned into an 'active' squadron and be expected, within the first week in a squadron, to send us your 'Aviator's' exam. The rest, as they say, is history. If you're thinking that those plans may seem a little complicated or difficult to manage: have no fear! The staff is here to help you, and the best way to get in contact with them would be to jump on IRC and go to the room #VENA. If you have any questions whatsoever about the Training Process (which we call Basic Training [BT]), or even how to get on IRC, post them here and we'll get back to you as quickly as humanly possible (somewhere between 12-24 hours at the aboslute latest.)
Again- I hope you enjoy your stay here, and hopefully you'll find a good time. Oh- and IRC is a social tool as much as one we utilize for Academy purposes, so jumping on to introduce yourself and meet new folks might be nice as well. With all that said- Welcome to the Imperial Naval Academy.
