I am C-3PX2, I am a Vast Empire Imperial Naval Academy (VENA) Operator.

By posting here you have completed Imperial Initiation (II), the first step of your Basic Training (BT). The Next step in Basic Training is Flight School, the Final Phase of Basic Training. The first step in Flight School is Chapter 1: Character Development. This is where you create your character; their physical characteristics, history, ect. The link above is to the Flight School section of our Wiki, it has very useful information and I encourage you to read it about the area of training you are in.

Once you complete the Biography on your character, post it in this topic and it will be graded by a staff member of the VENA, after which they will move you on into the next section of Basic Training.

If you have any confusion, writers block, or problems with any of this just let any VENA Staff Member know, you can get in contact with a VENA Staff member though a Com-Net Private Message (in the message center), e-mail, or in IRC (using MIRC, the Java Client, or whatever program you use). Any way of communication works, and we would be more than happy to assist you if have any questions or concerns.

Pretty good form so far, Jinxzo.  One thing I'd like you to do is add a personality as well as physical description heading so we know how to describe you when we write you into stories.  Just try to think of how your character would re-act if I went up and said- "Hello!"  Also, if there are any other motivations to joining the Navy, you can keep them secret if you wish, but you can also choose to develop them later or elaborate them further in this bio, if you feel they contribute to it that is.

Anywho, thought I'd introduce myself- I'm Shazam, Officer of Training around here and I'll be assigning you to a squadron at the end of all of this.  In the meantime, C-3 is your operator and Tomas is your trainer: you can come to them with any questions about the process or what it is you have to do.  Any and all questions can be asked here, through the message center or on IRC, for the best response time that is.  I hope you enjoy your time here Jinxzo, and hopefully we'll see each other in the near future; rock on.

That's just fine, actually, Jinxzo.  Let me just note that the barrel roll, since we say we're using it defensively to slow down and force our enemy past us, can really only be used effectively in atmosphere.

As you may already know, we have to make to very distinct worlds out of flying: atmospheric and external space.  In atmosphere, we have all these factors affecting the fighter: lift, drag, wind, density of air, etc...  These things are what slow us down when we begin that barrel roll; if those things are absent, as they are in space, the barrel roll just becomes a spin, which is useless to us.  As for the breakturn- that's pretty much applicable wherever

So- I'm ganna say: good job, and I hereby pass you on Chapter 2.  What I'm ganna need you to do now, as we're looking to re-organize our fighter groups in the next day, is get prepared by creating a VE Wiki Profile- this can be done fairly easically by following the link below.  However, if you've got time, I'd like you to read, under Chapter 3 on Flight School, the link that says 'The Squadron.'  If at all possible, an example report would be nice, and you can just post it here.  Either way, I think we're about done here; as soon as you're in a fighter group, you'll have one week to complete the Aviator's Exam and then you're pretty much home free for a while.  Great work so far, Jinxzo.

Jinxzo's Report: 16 October 2007

Activity: This week I studied hard at Flight School reading up to chapter 3.  Studied everything I could about Manuevers and Tatics.  I reviewed the boreds everyday and recently had to redownload IRC because of reformating the computer.

Upcoming plans: Next week I will hopefully be in a squadron learning with my new team.  Also work on futher char. development.

With a gleam in his Jinxzo finishing up the last question on the Aviators Exam.  He stands up, wipes his brow and heads toward Shazam.  Each step brings thought.  Where the answers right?  Will I make commanders happy?  Soon he would find out.

As he approaches Shazam a wave of relaxation come over him.  The confidence rose up inside.  He knew he studied hard and answered the questions to the best of his abilites.  Only a few more steps and the final turn in is done.  Jinxzo says "I going to pass this test with flying colors."  Realizing he spoke outloud instead of to himself, he looked around in embarrasment hoping no one else heard him.

He stands in front of Shazam with a quick snap to attention.  Shazam gives him the look over.  "Crewman,  at ease" says Shazam.  Jinxzo shyly contorts to a half at ease, half attention stance."  Shazam speaks with a purpose "Did you finish your Aviators Exam"?  Jinxzo nods.  He turns over the exam to Shazam, who puts it away.  "You will hear from me on your grade, continue as you where." says Shazam.  With a smile and a quick about face Jinxzo scurrys intently waiting to hear from Shazam.
