Howdy, and welcome to the Vast Empire Navy, Saryan. Just thought I'd let you know that I'm the Officer of Training (TO) and I'll be passing you through our training system known as "Basic Training." FYI, Basic Training has two main components: Imperial Initiation (which you've completed by creating a thread here on the Academy ComNet) and Flight School (the place where we actually teach you some things before putting you in an active squadron.) Now, know that you will always have the ability to ask questions and get fairly direct answers from our staff- they should be stopping by to say hello soon enough. If you ever have any questions, you can jump on jIRC (found under logistics on the main page) and go to the room #VENA. Anyone in there should be able to help you
Okay- so you've started on your bio: excellent. Moreover, you've created a fairly decent history with a couple of leaps and bounds, so you're off to an exellent start. The only problems we might have are with how incredibly intelligent your character would have to be; while we don't want to constrain you, just remember that every character needs to have weaknesses: they can't be all powerful. That's why we don't all people to be jedi or sith right off the bat: it's just taking the fun out of it by being on top right from the beginning- we prefer you earn those skills as you progress in your writing. So what are we asking? We want you to realize the type of immediate advantage your character would have with the abilities you've given him and that, in the VEN, your character can be good at something, but they can't be incredible at everything. Our pilots, the Squadron Commanders and other veterans, should always be able to fly better than the new recruits, regardless of the background they provide in their bio- it's just how we do things, lol.
But other than that: very nice. When you think you've got your bio to the point you'd like it, we'll move you on along to Chapter 2 of Basic Training: "Pilot Procedure." If you have questions about any of the materials- just lay 'em on us and we'll make sure you understand. Otherwise, just post your two maneuvers here and we'll see to it that they get checked so you can move on to the final stages/finale of Basic Training. If you get bored, you might try taking a look at some of the stories we've had in the past, looking in some of the squadron topics, checking out the entirety of the Naval Academy- whatever floats you're boat: we've got a lot of good info hangin around, waiting to be absorbed.
