All right, here's the quick news from the academy so far.
A new website is being worked on, but it might be a while until it is up. The old one can be found at: navy.vastempire.com/academy
If you need to take the (=A=) or (=SA=), please copy the questions to a word processor, then e-mail your answers to me.
There have been some changes to some of the tests. I am doing this on my own - if the other members of the NHC of one of my adjutants has a problem, or a better idea, please get in touch with me and let me know.
The (=A=) will now be given to trainees to get them placed in a squadron. 80% is passing, and gets them the rank of CRW. 100% earns distinction and an automatic promotions to LCRW.
The (=SA=) will be given to pilots who have been in the VEN for at least two months and who are active. 80% is passing now, and will earn pilots the Star of Valor. 100% earns distinction and a promotion, unless it would place the pilot above CWO.
The (=MA=) will be given to pilots who have been in the VEN at least six months and who are active and major parts of the Navy. 80%, passing, will earn the pilot the Legion of Merit. If they manage to pass with 100% they will be put up for a promotion as well, though it may not come through. To pass this test with a 100% will be close to impossible, however. The pilots who can take this exam will be hand-picked by the NTO and his adjutants.
The (=JCPA=) and (=SCPA=), awards for multiplayer performance, will be given out by my direct judement. If you believe you deserve either ot these awards, just get in touch with me. I will decide beased on your case whether to award you one of these.
There will also be a (=UCPA=), to be introduced after the Elite Squadron Competition is over.
I am working on some small changes for our ID lines, so stay tuned for that.
As far as the (=FOCE=) goes, it is my duty to select who can take this exam. However, I will not select you if another member of the NHC advises against it. Right now, OC Zed Zeon is under review for the award. Passing the test earns an OC the rank of 2nd Lt. They may be asked to remain an OC and take the test again. If the pilot fails miserably, I will ask that they be demoted back to CWO. There are three more pilots on the waiting list - none will be added until two or three of those pilots are finished.

It's nice to see more updates, DH.  On a second note, if you would like any assistance with the new Academy site, please let me know. I have some experience with JavaScript Menu Applets (Thanks Kiption ) and they would really spruce up a page. -----------------------

How about this, Tarkin? I'm going to e-mail Corran tonight. If I don't hear anything back by Sunday, I might just have to find myself a new adjutant. And that could just be you. Lol.
By the way, Ossry has completed his =A= and has been promoted to LCRW after a score of 100%. He'll be placed tonight or tomorrrow. Everyone please give him a hand. -----------------------

It has been brough to my attention by a fellow member of the Vast Empire that the Training Officer may not award medals and also may not directly promote pilots.
So . . .
Please disregard all of the above information on what one receives when they complete one of the three Aviator's tests.
All of the pass rates and information on those tests are supposed to be for the NEW tests that I am making up, not the old ones that Bear has on the old academy site. Until the new academy is up and running, we will still be using most of Bear's old policies. That means new pilots must complete their =VEBAT= to be placed in squadrons, as CRW.
When the new academy is up, I will put the three new aviator's test on the site. Some of the previous information will still be true, but there will be no awards and no promotions. If you do exteremely well on a test, I can recommend you for promotion. But they seems to be about the extent of my power.
I am sorry for any trouble this might have caused. I will be getting together with my adjutants soon and letting them know what we need to do. Hopefully, the new academy will be ready by the beginning of February.
