Sorry for spamming but can Navy guys use any ship at all? If not, do they get a choice?:

Any ship they want? Presumably any they can find and fly. Vast Empire Naval Fighters are limited to certain aligned companies- the X-wings belong to Incom and the TIEs to Seiner Systems. Does that answer your question?

during missions we're assigned fighters, such as interceptor. in personal stories, we can use any that are bought from the ICS. In the case more than 1 crew is needed to fly the ship, NPCs are usually introduced, or a fellow squadron member.
