Yes, the story is off to a very great start, let's keep it going. Also, I am really loving the squad interaction right now. Don't hesitate to post something here telling the squad what your character does not like about certain things or do like.

For example, Jamasis saying that his and KayNine's character will be at odds. We're a mostly human squad and it would make sense that all of us wouldn't get along too easily. Don't be afraid to put some tension between you and a squadmate (as long as the mission comes first) or even some friendliness (i.e. Zippy and Ion).

Let's flesh our characters out a bit. Use the squad topic to your advantage, kick some ideas around on how your character would interact with the other squad members. Does your character not like a certain aspect of another? Does your character find that particular person funny, strange, or annoying? Just some stuff to kick around if you guys want to.

Really great posts on the story guys. Keep it up. Should have a post sometime here within the next few days.

I've come down with a bit of a cold, and as such my mind is a bit muddy. I should be able to get a post up before next report.

Right so I should have a post by next wednesday maybe? In the meantime,

Ion and Zippy have sort of bonded with the last post, they still have a bit of competitiveness in their relations so there's that. Rawr and Ion trained together so their some-what friends, though there is a bit of subconscious jealousy as Rawr has advanced a bit faster that Ion and is ASL. Otherwise this is Jorn's favorite kind of mission, a stealthy entry into the heart of the target, followed by some over-the-top action with plenty of destruction; He should have plenty of fun with the mission . The armor is a bit flashy though.

As said, Zippy and Ion have their competitiveness on missions that boost there performance throughout missions. Skarr, talking to Zippy frequently, can relay things to one another for a personal boost easily. Perfect type of a mission for Zippy being full of action, some stealth, and the good old friendly competition.

I to am willing to work with anything, so interaction with Zippy comes easy enough   Not as great a post for this, but tryin to do homework and study as well.

IRC probably wouldn't be good for me. I'm just about to head to bed. I'm not exactly sure how you can exactly insert yourself into the story. There's always the "Hey, I was here all along" method. You could meet us in the security room, already having been there. For whatever reason you could think of. This is definitely a difficult thing. Seems I should have waited for my post. lol

So, it's really your choice. Either way, we don't risk too much on you just being there. In that last post, I had forgotten to mention Jamasis, so it wouldn't be too beyound belief that you were there too. Just throwing some stuff out there for you before I hit the sack.

Alrighty then. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. If you can't think of anything by tomorrow, I'll try and catch you on IRC then.

That sounds pretty good to me. We're all trying to be a bit more active too.

I really like that kind of character, KayNine. It's different and a really great contrast to the rest of the squad. Expect some potential back and forth between her and Skarr. Skarr expects his squad to follow orders. But I'll try not to bring that up to much.

Expectations can be treacherous. For the most part she will obey orders. She'll bitch about the ones that involve her doing things she doesn't like but she'll likely not refuse, manipulate or plot homicidal scenarios till she'll really feel endangered.

Save her butt once and she'll write it off as a fluke. Manage to do the same a second time and she'll treat you more as an equal. You know how people say third time's the charm? Yeah well that won't apply in this case unfortunately. Half a dozen or more such favors might - with emphasis on might - change her mind to actually consider you a trustworthy friend. In the previously described scenario involving the wounded comrade and transport K9 might even take the transport to the wounded comrade before taking off to safety. If you were expecting those events to play out in the opposite order then all I can say is - tough. You can end up being her very best friend whom she values more than her own mother... and still she'd leave you to die if the alternative would be seriously risking her life. She just wasn't built for heroics that way

Also, getting shot at makes perfect sense too. What'd you expect dashing in the enemy's direction without making your presence known to the rest of the squad first? Hardcore mofos would obviously shoot first, remain silent afterward. Or in K9's case just shoot at anything that moves w/o first making sure it's hostile as doing the latter would take time and time in a firefight is a precious commodity. One she's not willing to part with.

But yeah, looking forward to some more interactions as well. These are the things that will end up shaping her in the future after all. Was planning on making a pun with something like "the future is bright" but I decided against it - too easy...

Was able to squeeze a post in today as promised. Fortunately I was able to resist the urge to run around the corner yelling "It's a trap!"
So, our backs should be clear for the remainder of this skirmish.

Also, it's nice to have some change of pace in the characters with KayNine, the squad could use a little bickering. Expect a little conflict as Ion's liable to become annoyed with her self-serving attitude, but he does see the value of not-going-on-a-guaranteed-suicidal-mission-due-to-some-sense-of-duty-to-any-person/government/cause/potato. And add in a few more hyphens for good measured. -------------------------------------------------------- There, that should do it... for now.
