It's funny where we find ourselves sometimes, I guess I worked my way into the Navy because I found myself so often adrift. To often the galaxy shifts and the center does not hold, but it didn't matter, the currents brought me here and here I shall serve. I guess I started like alot of others that took these steps before me, but I never bought into the tradition of it all. Where to start though. Larthorn 'Hawk' LeCambrion, a call sign I did not choose as most don't.

The mission was simple, standard BFM in an asteroid field, thats basic flying maneuvers for the unitiated. It was a 2v2 disimilar craft mission, I was in my modified Tie with my instructor - if you think a regular tie is cramped, imagine one with alot of its inertail package ripped out to make room for the instructor seat - 'escorting' a tie bomber through the field. The 'red air' or hostile ships were two pristne Interceptors. Any other day they would have had the definite advantage over us, especially with the cover of the asteroids all around them.

I surprised them though when I popped out from a large cluster of asteroids and tagged them with the training lasers. I would have sworn I heard a chuckle from my other wise gruff instructor, but then again it could have been a tweak in his life support helmet. They all asked how I knew where they were going to be, but I could never really explain it, movements. I just closed my eyes and saw them. Its funny I know but it seems to work well enough. Some said it was because I was a natural, others because I had eyes like a Hawk, and it stuck. I remember silently thanking the Emperor when we had our naming ceremony and I heard my name followed by Armstrong's call-sign. 3M wasn't exactly catchy and once more, what it meant was something not easily shared in most public forums, still one couldn't deny his arm was strong from something.

It had been some time since I saw the cool skies of Corellia my home, and hopefully I would be returning soon to server her in my own way.

(( This was just a brief IC introduction to Hawk. I'm working more on his personality and back round. But have a really good idea of how he is going to be. ))

Howdy, I'm the commander of training for the Naval Academy here in the VEN.  That makes me your trainer I suppose- nice to meet ya.

I see you've already begun an introduction to your character, but I suppose I should run you through what we do here.  While writing your own stories and just hanging out is an option, most choose to go into active duty.  Active duty would be the squadrons, or groups of people thar write together and pursue excellence in other group activities and competitions like the ESC (Elite Squadron Competition.)  It requires more communication and you have to go through BT (which is what you're here for, actually), but its a whole lot more fun and doesn't get old nearly as easilly.

Let's presume you want to continue with your training :>

Now that you've actually made an introduction post, you've passed Imperial Initiation (II).  II, along with Flight School (FS), is a part of Basic Training (BT).  The idea of basic training is to prepare you for active duty and thus- a squadron.  Now, there are three chapters we run you through and a test to take- upon completion of all of these things you are known as a Vast Empire Naval Academy (VENA) Graduate and are given a promotion, the Aviator's certificate and a place in one of the three active squadrons: Aegis, Kaph and Nazgul.

Should you decide to go through with training, it usually takes about a week and isn't all too hard- just some good reading and short bits and pieces of work.

So- the first thing we're going to do, and what you were really on the road to doing, is create your character.  Go to the link below to see the entirety of Flight School and go into Chapter 1: Character Creation.  Make sure to post your bio here, or we may never see it!  Can't wait to see your work, man; rock on.
