1- Why do the COs of divisions not hold the highest rank possible? Is it just a matter of allowing them the possibility of advancement and it not being merely given when the position promotion is given?
2- As an add-on, who would promote Grand Moff Kadann, seeing as there are two ranks higher then him on the HC PayScale?

When I became the NCC my rank was Rear Admiral. I've been promoted twice since then. Further promotions for members such as Fury and I are basically rewards for exceptional performance of our respective divisions. I can't speak for him, but I think he'd agree with me that we're not exactly chomping at the bit for promotions. I honostly never expected to make this -this- far, much less any further.
I imagine the rest of the VEHC could collectively promote Kadann, but there really isn't any formallized system to it. -----------------------

I'm pretty sure I forgot to ask this before, not 100% so if I see it somewhere else I'll delete it where I first posted it.
Is there any way to make service record (ie positions, ranks, time in those positions and ranks, and medals) automated on our roster profile? Or is it too much work or already in planning for the future? -----------------------

Err, It is not automated right now. I made one for myself entirely in html and mostly for fun on my website here. As for if it will be on the roster or not any time soon, you'd hafta ask Kadann what his plan is. -----------------------

Is there any way to put something like that within your roster profile or would it have to be outside of the VE page? And if it is possible in the roster would you be willing to share the code you used for it? -----------------------

It definitely sounds like something Kad is working on with the Command Center. You have to understand that tracking individual members with that much granularity can't be easy to code. Only a few of us have asked for it, which kind of explains the back burner mode of it.
As for your earlier questions, we get into our positions at the rank we hold at the time of selection. That said, the earliest version of the Command Center mandates a minimum rank for a position. Usually that is to allow for a person to have enough time served with enough recognized activity to qualify for that position by natural promotion processes.
As for whether Kad can be promoted, maybe we should have a poll on it?  -----------------------

Wow, I joined in 02' with my first character, too bad I've been deleted so many times that the highest rank I've obtained is the one I'm sitting at right now, or let me think, I had Warrant officer 2nd class when I was in Viper when Warmaker was SC.
