Info: The blue mountains are Devaron's tallest range. It is the high metal content in the rock that gives the range its blue-ish tint when viewed from a distant. This also makes the rock here very difficult to drill through and virtually impervious to bombardment.

Status: Uncontrolled. Unoccupied, with the exception of remote observation towers stationed high above New Serat

Phenix checked his pressure system, ensuring that he would not be caught blacking out at any time up the mountain. The rest of the squad could be seen doing similar things, and after a short number of minutes, the squad was ready to roll. Kairo gave the order to begin the ascent, and the group took off two units at a time.

Phenix, having no experience in jet-pack travel, was a bit nervous. He had gone over the procedure manual well enough, but he knew very well that first-hand experience is the key to this sort of thing. He looked up to see the first two soldiers ignite the jet-packs and rise above everyone else, taking to the skies up the side of the mountain. Phenix looked to his left at the other soldier to make sure he was following a similar routine. As both units were ready to go, Kairo gave them the signal, and Phenix's feet were removed from the planet's surface.

He felt the sudden jerk of taking off, and managed to hold control of the pack, relieving him that imperitive little bit. His boots weighed down his legs, and Phenix could hear the wind whistle past his helmet. He did everything he could to keep beside his partner, all the while staying a few meters behind the first set of troops. As the minutes went by, however, the adrenal feeling began to wear off. Whether it was from his focus on the mission or nervousness of what was to come, Phenix couldn't tell.

The first group had landed at the first checkpoint, and Phenix would be arriving there within seconds. He swiftly approached the semi-flat clearing along the mountain, and set his feet down, slowly disengaging his jet-pack. He stepped back with the other soldiers, allowing room for the rest of the squad to land. As each member set down, one by one they would come together and prepare for Kairo to give the next orders.

Kairo finally set down last, and with the whole squad settled, he started to inform the squad of the next command point.

"Okay, now that you all have somewhat of a handle on your jet-packs, you should be ready to complete the mission. I will give you all your orders and checkpoints, so pay attention," Kairo commanded.

Phenix listened intentively, ready for wherever Kairo could send him. He wasn't sure whether or not he would be working by himself, with the whole squad, or in groups. He clutched his E-11/M, giving him some extra spirit, knowing that he is well-armed.

As I saw the first group activate there jet packs and launch off the tower, a feeling of panic spread over me. Man why am I so nervous, I came for this kind of action, and revenge. I looked up just in time to see phenixes group launch. I started clicking my teeth together, it was a bad habit I had whenever I was nervous or bored. Then the next group launched, I waited for Merrick to give us the signal. After about two seconds she gave Jakireth and I the thumbs up signal. All right here I go, I thought to my self as I ignited my jet pack and launched off.

It was an awesome feeling yet nerve racking at the same time. I looked down and the tower was gone and we were surrounded by white clouds. The clouds were so thick that I could barely see Jakireth and he was only four feet away from me. I felt my ears pop as I went higher and higher, Finally Jackireth gave me the signal to slow down. Finally after about twenty seconds of that speed I could see the first checkpoint and the clouds were beginning to thin. Then we finally got out of the clouds and landed.

We saw the other two groups there and walked over to where they were. As we walked away from the cliff's edge Jakireth asked "So how do you feel?"
"I feel good really good," I said in a sarcastic tone. I looked up and saw how much higher we had to go, man I don't think I'm gonna like this to much, I thought to myself. As I turned around I saw the fourth group land. I wonder how they all felt on their first mission; they probably felt the same way I did. All we had to do was wait for two more groups and then we would find out where to go. I looked down and checked my gear; I had my Treppus-2 Vibroblade, my three EMP grenades, DT-57 Annihilator Heavy Blaster pistol, DC-17M Interchangeable combat system, and 3 ration packs.

Man I wonder how hard those droids are gonna be to take down, I hope there not to big. At the thought of that Leon started fingering the trigger of his rifle.
"Heh, you look like your about to crap your pants are you ok" Jackireth asked.
"Yea I'm good just had some bad thoughts".
"Believe me it wont be as bad as you think"
"How do you know? You've never seen these thing before, and there could be many of them".
"Yea your right, but from what the reports said there not that many only a few".
"But reports aren't always right".
" Your right about that, but lets just hope that the reports are right."
Shortly after that the two groups came, and Kairo started giving them there orders.

OOC: Sorry you guys its so short its just that i didnt want to make anything happen without the SL and i cant write later because im going to my moms and they wont let me write because im grounded.

"Sir." Jakireth stated into his helmet's ComLink; his confident and experienced tone nestling easily into the brief crackle of white noise. His legs were swinging beneath him, and his right arm lay over the left, the designator icon on his HUD placed over the name 'GSG Kairo'.

"Go ahead, Corporal." Came the muffled reply about forty-five distinct seconds later, the rush of the ever constant wind still too much for the natural dampers on their gear to overcome.

Jakireth shook himself back to reality after the slight time between his inquiry and the provided acknowledgement. He couldn't believe the view from their position; the crystal blue sky laden about their coverage area. They had moved above the clouds, the fiery orange of their jet packs a beautiful compliment to their surroundings.

The Blue Mountains came into view as he continued his words to the Platoon Commander:

"I need engagement parameters. We weren't fully given the attack measures on how these droids work; movement and overall mission at the most important."

Once again the link went silent, the recipient obviously pondering over what question.

"You have a weapon, correct, Jak?"

"Of course, sir."

A short-lived chuckle rang over their communication and Kairo responded in perfect unison:

"If something shoots at you...return the favor. The concept is simple really, but I understand the general concern you seem to have. The point of this..." He paused, searching for the proper word, "...expedition, if you will, is to pacify the Blue Mountain district. If we can do so without firing rounds, that's wonderful. But, I do believe you know the inevitable answer."

It was now Jakireth's turn to laugh, and he did so heartily.

"I'll try to keep my finger plucking at something else then."

The two-squad formation dropped into a low spin around the elevated area, picking a small ridge to make their landing.

"Form up," Merrick said over her ComLink, "We're coming in."

It had been a thrilling assent up the mountain, even if there was no presence of droids. Kairo didn't know whether it was the thrill of flight, the altitude getting to him, or the thinner air his helmet wasn't able to correct that made him joke with Jakireth the way he did, but he wasn't complaining. Keeping the mood light for a bit would help the newer recruits keep a little calmer and cooler when things got serious. Having them worry about messing up, failing to follow orders, or crashing to the far ground below would only make things worse. So far, they hadn't lost it.

Landing on the slight ledge with the rest of the two squads, Kairo turned to Merrick as she landed and said, "I think it's time we split up. We're only a single jump below the top of this peak, and the second outpost can be jumped to once we take care of this mountain's station. What do you think?"

Merrick glanced up the mountain and responded, "Now is as good a time as any."

Nodding, Kairo didn't bother turning to the rest of the squad since the comlink was going to pass his message around. "Here's what we are going to do. Nightstalkers, you are going to follow Merrick around to the other side of the mountain from this point then jump to the top of the mountain when I give the signal. Just follow your squad leader's orders, and it will work out fine. Keef, Darkknight, Yillis, and Phillip, you'll be following Phenix around to another side of the mountain. Everyone is going to be following me. We're doing this to come at whatever is up there from three different directions. A report given to me from Raziel said the summit has actually been flattened out and is about forty meters in diameter. It is totally barren, so we should be able to see each other and whatever else is up there will see us. Of course, the outpost should enable us to carry out individual battles without the droids joining together at the base. Also, beware, just because we didn't see any droids on our way up, doesn't mean more won't attack us from behind once we are up there. Send me a message once you guys are in place," Kairo said, intending it for Merrick and Phenix.

Checking his guns while he had the chance, Kairo watched as the two groups engaged their jet packs and circled the mountain. It would only be a few minutes. Making sure he had all his knives, Kairo wondered how they would be useful against a droid. I guess I could just throw one into the droids optic sensor, or maybe use it to cut off its head, that is if it has a head. Glancing around him at the remaining three troopers, he saw Slash leaning against the wall with a modified sniper rifle. "Have you had that whole time?"

"Yep. I might not be totally trained as a sniper yet, but I'm getting there."

"You going to be able to do anything to these droids with that?" Kairo asked.

"As much as these two can with their blasters, maybe more since this uses rounds and not blaster bolts," Slash remarked.

Good point. Turning his attention on the remaining two men, he saw that Nicholas was well armed. Having served with him on past missions, Kairo wasn't worried, but Ryan Kenobi was another matter. He was a new to the scene, an unknown variable in the upcoming battle's equation.

"How are you holding up?" Kairo asked, trying to keep the men talking while they waited. Getting anxious was never good.

"Huh. Who? Me?" Ryan responded, jumping to attention which almost caused him to fall off the rock face.

"A little less formal up here and yes." Kairo grabbed Ryan's breastplate and yanked him back from the ledge. "Try not to fall of now."

"Uh, thanks." Ryan replied as Kairo let him go.

Before Ryan could say anything else, Phenix voice came in over the comlink, "We're about a third around the mountain, or as close as I could approximate."

"So are we," Merrick's voice joined in over Phenix.

"You both ready then?" Kairo asked, turning to face the sheer sided rock wall and bringing his hands to his jet pack's controls.

  "Yep."

  "Roger."

"See you at the top then. Good hunting." Kairo signaled for the three troopers to follow then engaged his jet pack. Feeling gravities pull for the first second, Kairo gave his boosters a little extra grip and shot into the sky, following the mountains surface as closely as possible. Staying close to the surface may keep us hidden from any unfriendly droids. As the jet pack reached maximum velocity, the mountain's surface becoming a bluish brown blur. Seeing the end of the mountain in sight, Kairo started to slow down. As he came to the summit, Kairo shot over the edge and disengaged his jet pack, landing in a crouch he pulled out his DC-17 and Kylon-3.

In the middle of the summit was the outpost. Smoke was billowing out of one a satelite dishes while part of the defensive wall had been blown away. Scorch marks marred the remaing portions. Automated turrets had been completely destroyed. Circling outward from the base, droid parts were scattered along the ground. A few human bodies could be seen as well. Two groups of the spider like robots were moving around the summit in a scanning pattern, seeming to be on guard. A third was attacking the outpost's walls, seeming to use their forward arms to demolish the walls and any equipment they came upon. Each group consisted of four droids. About four meters tall, they each had a large blaster mounted on its undercarriage. Along with the spiderbots, fifteen of the probe-like-droids buzzed about the sky, some just joining the group while others were heading in the direction of the second summit. All this information collected in Kairo's mind in the instant he landed. Within a single blink, Kairo set the DC-17's charge to maximum and fired it at the closest probe droid. As blue sparks shot from its head, Kairo fired a second shot from his Kylon-3, blasting a hole in its center.

Swinging his blasters at another droid, Kairo saw Slash fire a rifle round while still hovering in the sky at one of the spiderbots, taking out its single blaster cannon. The fight for the first summit had begun.

Phenix's group nearly reached the designated area, listening for the sound of machinery or anything alike. Phenix felt relatively calm inside his head, considering he was taking the lead on an unknown threat. After a few more yards, Phenix decided they should be climbing to the summit soon to meet the others up top.

He let the group rest for a minute as he tried contacting Kairo on the comm. After a moment of silence, Phenix called to Kairo, ready to report their position.

"This is Phenix. My group has made it to an appropriate spot. Ready whenever you are...let me know when you're good to go," More silence was all they recieved from Kairo.

Phenix waited for any reply whatsoever, but nothing. Just as Phenix was about to try again, the sky erupted with the sounds of blaster-fire, and a small explosion could be heard somewhere on the summit.

"I guess that's our signal, then," Phenix said to his squad. "Everybody get up there...go!" With that, Keef, Darkknight, Yillis, and Phillip ignited their jetpacks and shot up the mountain one by one. Phenix started up his own jetpack and, having a feel for it now, went full-speed up the mountain side. As he made it to the pinnacle, he slammed his feet into the ground to brace himself, and aimed his gun for the closest target...which also happened to be the size of a building.

As the droid shot a barrage of bolts at Phenix, he rolled to his left, catching in his eye the sight of his squad being scattered as more droids sent shots in every direction. That's droid targetting for you... Phenix thought sarcastically to himself.

"Draw the droids to the side of the mountain...but don't group together or you'll be a bigger target. Keep moving fast!" Phenix called, trying to keep his team out of harm. He barely had time to think before another wall of blater bolts came stinging past his head. Keep moving, man! Phenix ordered himself.

Out in the not-so-far distance, Kairo could be seen with their men, attending a very similar battle. As Phenix's team ran around like crazy chickens, Yillis managed to draw a few of the probe droids along the side of the summit. Instinctively, Phenix threw a grenade, safely out of the way of Yillis, but close enough to cause a small slab of the mountain's edge to slide, tumbling the droids down with it.

"Only two droids down out of...a lot more. The spider droids seem to only have one gun. Someone try to take it out, but I doubt blasters are strong enough to do the trick," Keef called to everyone else.

Someone over the comm, whom Phenix was unsure, replied simply, "I'm on it already!"

Phenix clutched his gun, letting any droid that came across him eat the dust which they guarded...

As soon as Kairo gave the order, the Night Stalkers ignited there jetpacks and went full throttle. It was a beautiful sight seeing the landscape below but Leon new that everything wouldn't be this peaceful in a matter of minutes. Finally the Night Stalkers landed at where they were supposed to be and Merrick radioed in to Kairo.
"We've reached our destination, just give us the order and we'll attack." Merrick said with confidence in her voice.
"Ok were going up now, ill give you the signal" Kairo replied.

The Night Stalkers waited in silence, listening for the signal or any sign of the droids.

"Man I hate waiting" Leon said in a nervous tone.
As soon as Jakireth was about to open his mouth a huge explosion was heard above them.
"Go, go, go!" Merrick shouted.
The Night Stalkers ignited there jetpacks and went as fast as they could up the rest of the mountain. Some debri whizzed past there heads as they sped up the mountain. As soon as they cleared the top they saw the other two groups going at it with the droids. It was total chaos; all you could see were laser bolts going left and right, and Troopers dodging bolts.

"Leon you go to the right Jak you move to the left and ill take the middle, move now!" Merrick shouted at the top of her lungs.

As soon as she gave the order Leon bolted to the right, as he was running he took a shot at the nearest droid. It was a Spider droid and the bolt had no effect. It turned around and rapidly shot three bolts at Leon. Leon dived to the right and landed on his arm. As soon as he got up he shot two shots at the droids Blaster canon and missed. Dam it I keep missing, if I keep going on like this im gonna get myself killed. Leon thought to himself as he dodged some more bolts. Finally Leon thought of something. He whipped out an EMP grenade, and launched it at the Droid, as soon as he launched it the droid launched another barrage of bullets at him and he dived to the left with the bullets just narrowly missing his body. As he looked up from the ground he saw the EMP grenade activate and take out the Spider droid and a probe droid that was about 5 feet away.

Nice, Leon thought to himself as he saw the droid collapse to the ground. As soon as he turned to the left he saw Merrick take out another Spider droid. Then Leon, Jak, and Merrick formed up in a triangle formation about five feet apart.

"Provide some cover fire for Phenixes group and distract those droids, and then ill radio Phenixes group and they'll take em out from behind." Merrick said as she started ripping at the droids with her blaster. Leon and Jak did the same; finally the two droids turned around and replied with their own blaster fire. As soon as Phenix saw that the droids were distracted he  and another of his group members launched a grenade at the two Spider droids and destroyed them.
"Thanks!" Phenix shouted over in a cheery voice at the NS.

"Any time!" Merrick replied.

Merrick turned away from phenixes group and nodded in approval at the NS members.

"Good job you guys, that's how NS does it, but we still got more to go." Merrick said.

Leon and Jakireth nodded with a smile and the group turned around to meet the remaining droids...but with a smile.

Thirteen Kairo mentally tracked the number of droids remaining, since the two squads had begun the fight. Running forward with covering fire from Slash and RK, Kairo tried to ignore the mesh of laser fire darting around him. Sliding forward feet first, Kairo slide across the ground underneath one of the spider droids. Drawing one of his knives, he threw it into the blaster cannon, cutting through its large barrel. Rolling out from underneath, Kairo stood and ran, firing a shot from his Kylon-3 at a probe droid. As the spiderbot tried to fire its damaged cannon, the broken barrel caused a backwards chain reaction, blowing the droid to bits. Eleven. Nine. Six. Kairo continued the tally as more droids fell from the other two groups attacks.

"Kairo, duck!" Slash's voice came through the comlink. Not waiting a moment, Kairo dropped to the ground, narrowly missing the criss-cross fire from two probe droids.

"Thanks." Kairo responded, as he flipped to his back and tried to take aim at one of the retreating probe droids. Before he got a lock, he was forced to jump to his feet and sprint back to his group, closely followed by a spiderbot's laser fire. "Can you take its cannon out?" Kairo asked, trying to keep ahead of the steady stream of laser fire closing in on him.

Spotting Slash lift from the ground with his jet pack, Kairo swerved to the side, allowing him a clear shot with his sniper rifle. Realizing his mistake, Kairo couldn't slow down enough before he ran right off the summit's edge. Bantha Shit. Kairo groped for his jet pack controls, as he plummeted downward. Initiating them a moment before he made an impact with a protruding bolder, Kairo slowed his descent enough to land on the bolder without injuries. Re-orientating himself, Kairo was about to return to the summit when a noise from below distracted him. Leaning over the bolder's top; Kairo muttered a curse and engaged his jet pack again. Blasting to the top, Kairo looked down again to make sure of what he had seen. Dropping in with RK, Slash, and Nicholas, Kairo pulled back on his DC-17's trigger, sending an EMP blast into another swooping probe droid.

"Nice of you to join us. Have a nice trip?" Nicholas joked.

Scanning the area, Kairo started to run towards the outpost. "Just had to get some fresh air," Kairo returned with a quip. "Now move!" Kairo ordered with a quick glance behind him. "NS, Jester group two, come in. Are the droids in your vicinity taken care of?"

"Only two probe droi... make that no probe droids; nice shot Jak." Merrick's voice said into Kairo's helmet.

"We're all clear over here." Kairo turned to see Phenix wave his blaster at Kairo's group. "Where are you running to?"

"Get to the outpost now. I don't know how many droids are scaling this mountain towards us, but from our side I counted at least three more spider bots, along with a few probe droids. They were only a hundred meters below, I think, and were moving quickly." To reinforce Kairo's words, a probe droids rose above the summits edge, only to be met by a shot from Kairo's gun.

"We copy." Merrick spoke for both her group and Phenix's group. Without aiming, Kairo fired a few shots behind him as he continued to run over the droid ridden ground. What am I doing? Droids don't have fear. The won't pause because of a few blaster shots. Focusing into his helmet's read out for his jet pack, Kairo checked to see how much energy it had left. Three fourths; should be plenty. Nicholas and RK were running backwards now, keeping a watch on the mountains brink for any more droids. Slash was still running with him. When they reached the outpost's damaged walls, they were met by the other two squads. "A little slow there, aren't we?" Merrick stated, even though her group had arrived only a moment sooner.

"Doesn't matter. We'll have a few more droids here shortly. I don't know how many for sure, but logically, they would be sending the same amount from each direction, thus, about nine spiderbots and probably fifteen probe droids-well, fourteen now." Kairo said, stepping through a blasted whole in the wall.

"So, do you have a plan?" Phenix asked, following closely behind Kairo.

"I'm working on it." Kairo answered truthfully. Noticing he only had a shot left in his Kylon-3, Kairo absently fired it outward from the outpost and replaced the cartridge.

"We could go at the hand to hand," Merrick said perfectly blandly. "It shouldn't be too hard." Smiling under his helmet, Kairo wondered if any of the new recruits got the joke. "Or we could take them out from in here, while they have to cross that no droids land.

"Can we go with choice two?" Leon asked, with total seriousness.

"I think we should vote on it." Kairo answered. Deciding Merrick and him should act serious, even with the adrenaline pumping through him, Kairo said, "We're going with option two of course. I don't know how many holes there are in this wall, so RK and Leon, I want you to quickly around the wall and get back here ASAP." Nodding at his orders, the two troopers ran off around the inside of the wall. Realizing he could see the main portion of the outpost now, Kairo examined it while RK and Leon were scouting. Except for a few scorch marks on its sides from blaster bolts that had made it over the wall and shots from the probe droids, the main structure was unmarred. Stepping over some rubble from the wall, Kairo nearly slipped on a pool of blood. Grimacing, he brushed his boot in the dust and tried to ignore the realization that the wall had collapsed atop some unfortunate souls. Before he had time to look inside, Leon and Ryan Kenobi returned. "Report?"

"Only four holes, sir." Ryan Kenobi said.

"It seems they came from four directions last time," Leon added.

  "Sith spit." Kairo said vehemently.

"What?" Leon asked. "Did we do something wrong?"

"No, that just means that there are probably more than nine spider bots. I was thinking they came from three directions like us, but if we assume from what you said that they came from four directions, that means. . ."

"That there are twelve spider droids and twenty probes." Merrick finished for Kairo.

"Right." Kairo nodded. A blaster shot from Nicholas broke into their discussion.

"I don't think we have any more time to chat." Nicholas stated. Looking through the hole, Kairo saw the first two arms of a spider droid reach over the edge, followed shortly by the droid's body.

"We'll just have to adapt then." Merrick growled. Nodding to Jakireth and Leon, she led them around the wall, quickly disappearing around the building's curve.

"Where are they going?" Phenix asked.

"Same place we are. Phenix, take Darkknight and Keef and guard one of those other gaps. Yillis, take PhillipG, and Slash, find another hole that way." Kairo pointed the opposite direction that Phenix's group was running.

  "And us?" RK asked.

"We're guarding this one of course." Kairo stated, pushing back against the outpost side of the wall. Leaning around the side, Kairo took aim at a zooming probe droid with his Kylon-3. Tracking it, Kairo squeezed the trigger and felt satisfied when it exploded in mid flight. Only three more for us. Two. Kairo corrected himself and Nicholas took out another probe droid. It's the spiderbots I'm worried about though. One. Kairo added as he took out another probe droid. They shouldn't have built them to be such easy targets. I guess the New Republic commander just wanted these outpost disabled and didn't want to waste money on the droids for protection. Of course, maybe we got here in time to stop them from disabling this place. Now it's just the spider droids. I wish we had Slash's rifle with us still. That was quite handy to take out their blaster cannons. Dodging back behind the wall, Kairo felt the impact of a shot from one of the spiderbot's blaster. "I think it, and it happens." Kairo muttered, feeling his body shake with another vibration through the wall.

Glancing across to Nicholas and RK, who had positioned themselves on the other side of the gap, Kairo asked through the comlink, "Any ideas?" They shook their heads. Kairo nodded. That's your job Kairo. A voice mumbled in the back of Kairo's mind. Right. I just hope my plan doesn't kill them. "Here's what we're going to do then. Did either of you bring any grenades with you?" They each pulled out two. "Good enough. Roll them to me." Picking them up as they came, Kairo spared a glance around the wall. The spider droids were half way across the barren surface. Sliding them into his belt, Kairo gave them one last order. "Now, we're going to rush them. Just trust me. On three. One. Two." Kairo grasped a slab of wall on the ground. "Three." Heaving it up, Kairo held it in front of him as stepped into the gap. "Help me hold this up, and don't stop running." Kairo managed to gasp through his comlink, as his muscles already began to yell at his brain.

Forcing himself to move, Kairo kept moving them across the ground until they were only a few meters from the droids. Letting go of the slab, Kairo pulled two of the grenades pins and threw them at the two spider droids. Without a second spared, two more grenades were closely following them through the air. Glancing around the slab, Kairo almost laughed out right as both droids caught the grenades with their special hands. Dodging back behind the slab, Kairo helped RK and Nicholas pick it up and motioned for them to start moving toward the next two. Smoke and fire gushed past the sides of the slab as the four grenades went off, blowing the spider droids to pieces. A blaster cannons shot hit the slab a moment later, causing the three men to stop in their tracks. Straining, they continued forward. Dropping into place one last time, Kairo pulled the two grenades he had brought with him and lobbed them over the slab.

Waiting for the explosion, Kairo nodded for Nicholas and Ryan Kenobi to move out from behind the slab. Letting go, the three troopers let the slab crash to the ground and rolled out from behind it. Coming up in crouches, the scanned the area for any more droids. A robot arm spasmmed next to the broken remains of a droid. The second spiderbot was in worse condition. "That went better than I thought." Kairo exclaimed into his helmet. Turning around, Kairo saw that the rest of the droids on the summit had been disposed. Switching on his comlink, he asked, "I take you guys are done?"

"Been waiting for you, like always," Merrick responded.

"Right. Jester, move to the eastern side of the summit. We have one last stop. You can take this side from here, right Merrick?" Kairo asked, as he began to move toward the edge of the summit.

"Could have done this ourselves." Merrick responded. "Thanks for the help anyways."

"Right. You too." Kairo stated. A few minutes later, Jester had formed up along the eastern cliff.

  "What's left." Phenix asked

"One last stop. The second summit. It is much small than this. It is actually just the outpost, and a little bit of ledge. The second peak was much smaller. Is everyone ready? I doubt we'll see much resistance on this trip. We lost communications with that place before this one, which means they probably attacked that one first. That second force we just fought. I believe that to have been the force they sent against the second outpost." Kairo quickly checked his weapons before he grasped the jet pack's controls. "Ready?" They all nodded. Engaging the jet pack, Kairo flew out from the summits. Deciding not to glance down into the bleak drop, Kairo knew that if his jet packed malfunctioned now, it would be a very long drop. Jumping from peak to peak was much more dangerous than climbing the mountain.

The trip took longer than Kairo had guessed, but what met them was exactly as he had predicted. Landing fifteen minutes later with silent thanks, Kairo looked at the smoking shell of the second outpost. A quick sweep by the squad found now droid signs. Picking up a high powered comlink attached to his belt, Kairo thumbed it on and said, "Come in headquarters. This is Jester and Nightstalkers. Come in headquarters."

A moment passed. "This is Imperial headquarters, please state you business." A trite voice responded.

"Send a message to Raziel. The mountain complexes have been security. Outpost one is being guarded by Nightstalkers at this moment and outpost two is being held by Jester. Tell him that outpost two looks have sustained more damage than outpost one as well. Also, he can send any recovery teams he wants now. We can hold the summits until further orders," Kairo finished.

"Is that all?" The voice asked.

    "Yes."

"Very well. The message has been sent. Hold tight Jester." A click came through the comlink telling Kairo there was no more connection.

Turning to his squad, Kairo said, "Ok men. We've completed our mission. Patch up any wounds you received with anything you can find and dig in. We'll be holding the summit until further orders." Glancing up into the clear sky, Kairo could see the stars clearly beginning to poke through the dimming light.

(OOC That raps this one up. Kind of short, but activity was a little slow this week. Great work everyone that was active. )
