Snipes looked around the barracks, Wraiths were no where to be seen. Lazy imbeciles. Then. Look who's talking. Sighing Snipes picked up his Squad Leaders special comm unit and depressed the little button that made the *BWOOP* sound in his compatriots comms, Snipes had no idea if the button had a name, or if the sound did, but he thought they both should. I dub thee "Bwooper Button". The sound was generally used to recall the squad or signal them for any variety of reasons. Sitting back it was only a matter of time before the rest of the squad filtered in. Snipes grumbled to himself, he hated doing this job, he had other things he would much rather be doing than prodding the squad forward when they wanted to go twelve different directions. Suddenly Snipes had a new found respect for his Squad Leaders through the years. He really hated it.

*_*_*

With the squad assembled Snipes was put forward to do the most unpleasant duty of telling them about the mission, the mission they really shouldn't be going on.

"Alright, guys, this probably looks a little odd with me standing up here instead of Kay or Lukas" Snipes glanced at the latter, he looked smug, Snipes grimaced, "but we just got word of an especially tasty cargo passing right outside Vast Empire space on it's way to the Corellian Trade Spine. This job should be pretty clean cut, in and out simple and the pay off should be insanely large." Snipes hit a button and the Holoprojecter whirred to life, after several seconds of fumbling with it Snipes had the diagram of the target ship rotating at an irritatingly slow pace, just fast enough to keep it from being easily analyzed, but not truly fast. Snipes wasn't going to even try and stop it.

"What we have here." He continued after a pause,"Is a C-90 Corellian Corvette, moderate armament but not horribly fast, the six double turrets won't be a problem once the escort is out of the way, just a pair of TIEs a smack from either of the quads shou. . ."

"TIEs?" CJ, the newest kid, asked.

"Yes," Snipes responded, irritated that he had to explain himself," TIE fighters, this is a shipment for Grand Admiral Thrawn."

The room was suddenly very hush.

"Couldn't this lead to some unfavorable repercussions for the VE." Lukas finally asked.

"In short, No. Our ship is private and if everything goes according to plan it won't be any one of ours, nor will it ever be reported stolen." Snipes replied, picking his words carefully for no particular reason. Then moving on at a rapid pace, " That ship is our target, but first we have to steal a ship, and do it smart, while the owner is away and not going to come looking for it while we're borrowing it. So, there's a YT-2400 currently parked outside a villa not too far from this system, the family is gone in a much larger ship and they'll be gone for a good two weeks, more than enough time to pop on down the Corellian Trade Spine a little, nab some treasure and get on back here in time to pick up our paychecks and deliver the goods." Snipes looked around, they were enthralled, totally at his beck and call ever since the mention of the word 'treasure', Snipes grinned one of his wide, winning smiles. "So, we go into the villa, no one will be watching, I've actually been meaning to steal this ship and keep it for awhile now, but that's not what's in the cards, so, without further ado, my ship is in hanger bay 16,  Be there in half an hour, more details as they become necessary."

The squad filed out until only Lukas was standing there, he turned and looked at Snipes.

"How exactly do you plan to tackle a Corvette with one little cannon?"

Snipes just grinned enigmatically and chuckled.

Snipes pulled the gloves tight on his hands, they fit perfectly, his bare fingers poked through the  cut of finger sleeves, but otherwise the black leather adhered perfectly. Once finished pulling together his vanity and making sure his boots were clean, Snipes moved out of his cabin on board  his ship the Hades. He looked around, the YT-1760 wasn't the roomiest ship in the empire, nor  was it the fastest, but with a few modifications it became quickly adequate. He'd removed a good deal of engine equipment that only hindered performance, sure he wasn't the most fuel efficient in the galaxy, but compared to flat out speed it was a small price to pay. He'd enlarged the cargo hold, heftier engines, better computers, a good many pay checks had gone into this little project. Forcing himself to think on the task at hand he looked around, his squad mates were milling about, loading their equipment into their respective, and shared, rooms. Snipes had claimed the right to his cabin because it was his ship and he was the pilot. Snipes, sighed and walked to the cockpit that jutted out of the front, the design was not unlike the YT-2000 only smaller, which Snipes viewed as an advantage.  Taking his seat in the pilots chair he was quickly joined by Lukas, who made Snipes more than a little uncomfortable, he had the authority to yank this entire project out of the Gunnery Sergeants hands, and yet he had been playing along so far, Snipes was more than a little perplexed, but he kept that too himself, in fact he kept most of emotions to himself, that was why everyone liked him, he was excellent at faking things.

"So, where are we headed?" Lukas asked, punching up the nav-computer.

Snipes panned the view down until it centered on the Corellian Trade Spine, then pushed it core-ward. "Here, Teyr, they aren't going to want us there very long, in fact we'll be closely watched, and possibly guarded, and the locals hate off worlders, good news is they're human, and the ship i want is there, then it's a quick hop to Bassardo, then Teyr and then home."

"That's pretty far coreward, TIE fighters that far in? Wouldn't he be using smugglers?"

"You'd think so." Snipes answered enigmatically, in truth not comprehending the move entirely either.

"Right," Lukas said, Was that amusement in his eye? "Well, I'll go tell everyone who doesn't want to know, I'm sure you can handle taking off on your own." He was gone too quickly for Snipes to retort.

Cigarra clenched in his teeth, Snipes fired up the engines, checked off the preflight list, requested clearance, when it was granted he was quickly out the atmosphere, and with the absence of any traffic quickly enveloped in the friendly blue lines of hyperspace.

Virius, completed another one of his exercising reps. He wiped, the sweat from his forehead, comfortably he went and found the refresher of the ships spacious, living areas.
Freshen up, Virius donned his personal armor, tinted black of course, he shouldered his E-11/H. Deciding to take a better look around the ship, he checked his pistol holster and walked out of one of the many living spaces that the Wraiths occupied. CJ was lazily taking a nap on one of the comfy couches and Lukas walked out of the cockpit and nodded at Virius. Lukas walked off toward the aft section of the ship to prepare himself for the mission ahead.
Being bored, Virius pulled out his gamedroid and hooked it up to his slicertool. Heh, lets pwn some noobs on the holonet. Virius played until he got bored and sat for a while and thought about the mission ahead. Easy as cheesecake, I'll hopefully am going to be of some use with my slicing skills. I haven't been putting much effort lately.
The ship slowed and came out of hyperspace, Snipes came over the comm., "Everyone get ready, were on standby until we spot the convoy."
Virius slipped the gamedroid into his pack and pulled out his helmet and set it next to him. Sliging his slicertool on the side of his pack he checked that it was secured and waited for the rest of the squad to come out of their commandeered quarters and into the main lounge area of the YT cabin cruiser.
CJ sat up groggily and Lukas promptly walked into the lounge area and sat down in thought, all his gear was professionally mounted on his combat harness and pack, he moved with silent quickness.
The rest of the squad came in and blankly stared around waiting for something to happen. Suddenly, the cockpit door hissed open and Snipes walked through smiling with a cigarra clenched in his teeth.

(OOC: This starts before Virius's post and ends almost right with his. He skipped the part about stealing the YT-2400  /OOC)

Arnaut sat down as the ship shuddered and launched into hyperspace. My first mission. Time to get my hands dirty. The rest of the squad had already moved into their rooms. They now were just hanging about in the lounge, since the trip was going to take three hours. He stepped into one of the cramped cabins and set his only bag down on the bunk underneath CJ's. Unlike most of his squad mates, just about all the possessions he owned fit in his backpack. The only exception was his stormtrooper armor. That he stored in a small crate, which was leaving behind. They didn't want the targets to know they were imperials. The only armor he had was a relatively light chest plate and a helmet similar to the Imperial trooper's helmets.
He looked around his cabin in dissatisfaction. Besides two bunks, the only other thing in the room was a small, gray table. This room needs a little livening up. He walked over to his pack and pulled out his suction-cup ewok. Right after he the Battle of Endor, while he still worked for the Rebels, the Rebels had been selling the little things in celebration of their victory. He had bought one to bring a little life to his barren smuggling craft. He stuck it to the wall of his cabin. The poor pathetic ewok sat there, all lonesome by itself on the wall. Arnaut sighed. This was going to be a long trip.

*Three Hours Later*

Arnaut hoisted his light chest armor plate over his torso. Grabbing his E-11/H and sliding his combat knife into his boot, he stepped out of his room and casually walked into the ship's lounge. The rest of the squad was already lying around in the lounge. Arnaut dropped down on the couch next to Virius, who was enthralled in his Gamedroid. The comm cackled and everyone sat up attentively. "We're coming out of hyperspace. Make sure you have all you equipment, now. We need to sneak in and steal the ship as quickly as possible. Just because the family's away doesn't mean they don't have guards."
The rest of the squad jumped up and jogged off to their respective cabins. Arnaut rested his head against the back of the chair and waited for them to return. A few minutes later the crew was assembled back in the lounge, ready for action.
"We're starting our descent toward the planet. We're taking a route far from the villa and close to the planet's surface so they won't detect us on their radar. We'll drop down about three klicks from the target villa. It's on a hillside, far from the local cities and towns, so we should have all the privacy we need."
Arnaut could feel himself sag as the artificial gravity of the ship gave way to the planet's gravity. He looked out the viewport and was treated to the images of serene waterfalls surrounded by dense green jungles. The ship started to lower and suddenly his view was blocked by hundreds of trees. As soon as they hit the surface, Snipes strolled out of the cockpit and ordered everyone to line up.
"Alright," He said, "This needs to be quick and efficient. I've uploaded maps of the villa into your datapad." He pulled out a small holoprojector with a 3D map of the villa and pointed to the front entrance.
"Lukas you'll take out the guards here. After that we'll make a run through this corridor to the ," He said indicating to another hall. "From there, we'll use the turbo-lift to get up to the security room, and get access codes to the ship. The guards should have it somewhere in their databank, in case they ever needed to use the ship in a hurry. Once we have the codes, it's a dash down this hall, and to the hangar where the ship is parked. Any questions?" No one spoke, but instead just stared at the holo, getting a mental picture of how this was going to work.
    "Alright, lets get moving."
Everybody filed out and down the ramp into the dense jungle. Arnaut, CJ, Virius, Hunter and Snipes covered the ship with a camo netting to make it harder for aerial patrols to see the ship. Once the YT-2400 was stolen, no doubt a search would be made of the surrounding forests. With a groan, everyone lifted their packs onto their backs and started marching, single file into the jungle.

*One and 1/2 Hours Later*

The villa was finally in sight. There had been no resistance in the forest. All the animals on this planet seemed to be non-aggressive. Within a few more minutes of walking, they could finally see the front entrance to the villa clearly. Arnaut took his macrobinoculars from his pack and zoomed in on the front entrance. Two guards were all that could be seen guarding the door, but he had a strong suspicion that there were auto-turrets hiding in the bushes next to the doors. "Alright stop here. We need to take out thse guards before they spot us." Lukas rushed forward bearing his Whisper Sniper rifle. He went prone on the ground and aimed at the first guard. Arnaut zoomed in closer so he could see all the action. He heard the small click of Lukas pulling the trigger. Suddenly the rightmost guard's brains were all over the wall and he crumpled to the ground. Arnaut's suspicions about the auto-turrets were confirmed when out of the bushes two turrets emerged. The other guard rushed over to his fallen comrades aide. As he reached down to pull out his comm, a fair sized chunk of his head burst off and he too slumped to the ground. Two more shots, and the auto-turrets were destroyed.
    "Alright, let's go men."
They jogged up to the front entrance. Arnaut started at one of the dead guards. Pity. I'd hate to be them. The rest of the squad was already examining the doors. Their wooden appearance belied their actual strength. Snipes took out his combat knife and carved a piece of the flimsy wood off the door revealing the durasteel behind it. He tapped it once and pressed his up against it to listen to the metallic echo. "Sounds like it's about five to six feet thick, definitely impenetrable except by large explosives. We'll have to find another way in." The walked off of the stairs that led up to the entrance and circled around the building until they found a relatively low window.
"Gimme a boost," Lukas ordered CJ. CJ hoisted him up to the windowsill. He silently peered in.
"Coast is clear," he whispered down to the quad. Lukas helped the rest of the squad onto the windowsill. Then pulling out his pistol, he blasted through the glass window.
"For all the security at the front doors, they could have at least put bars on the windows&" he mumbled as he stepped past the shards of broken glass.  He spoke too soon for as soon as he stepped into the hall, sirens started ringing throughout the entire building.  He mumbled a silent curse. "Tripwires, I should've known."
"We should be a hall over from the turbo-lifts," Snipes yelled over the screeching sirens. "Hurry, everyone, follow me. Guards are sure to get here soon"
Snipes took the lead, sprinting down the hall, followed closely by Lukas, Virius, Hunter, Arnaut, and finally CJ as the rear guard.  They turned a corner and ran headfirst into a group of guards rushing to meet them. Hunter and Virius jumped to the right, CJ and Arnaut to the left, and Lukas and Snipes charged headfirst into the group of guards, knives drawn. There were pillars lined up against the walls that stuck out about three feet. Just enough room for two people to hid behind. The guards backed up concentrating their fire on the pillar Virius and Hunter had jumped behind. Blaster bolts scorched the pillar's stone surface. Arnaut ducked down and rolled right next to the nearest guard. The guard let out a scream as Arnaut swept his feet out from under him and buried his combat knife into his skull. One down, about fifteen to go
He looked around and saw Hunter and Virius pinned down behind the pillar with blaster fire flying around them. They needed help. Arnaut put his knife away and pulled out his E-11. Aiming at the guards that were firing upon Hunter and Virius, he unleashed a volley of shots. Two managed to roll out of the way, but the others weren't so lucky. They took the blasts full in the chest and fell without a word to the floor. Hunter and Virius sprang from their position and started firing on the other two guards. Lukas and Snipes were currently engaged in hand-to-hand fighting with the main group of guards and CJ was just finishing off another guard with a sharp kick to the throat. This battle was just about won.
"Help me finish off these guards!" Snipes called just before a guarded kicked him in the gut. He stumbled backwards with a groan. Knowing using a gun would just endanger their squadmates, CJ and Arnaut drew knives and charged into the fray.  The guards noticed Arnaut first. Stabbed at Arnaut with a knife. Arnaut kicked upward sending the knife tumbling into the air and followed through with a punch to his face. The man backpedaled just as CJ's kick connected with his jaw. It shattered into about a thousand pieces. As the guard fell, he tried to scream, but his mangled jaw wouldn't allow him. One quick knife in the head put him out of his misery.
There were only about seven guards left. Seeing as how they were losing in melee combat, they retreated backward and started firing. The squad jumped out of the way and returned fire. Seeing as how he had to keep changing weapons, Arnaut ducked behind a pillar and took out some adhesive. He stuck his knife onto the front of the gun, making and impromptu bayonet. I should've done that in the first place. Arnaut aimed the front of his gun with the first guards chest and fired. The shot went high and hit the guard in the neck. He fell down right on one of his friends, who took a split-second to push him off. That split-second was all the time the squad needed to shoot him four times through the chest. Arnaut aimed his rifle at another guard, and fired. Unluckily for the remaining guards, a live grenade one of them had thrown blocked Arnaut's shot. They were consumed in fire and shrapnel. Their mangled, scorched corpses were blasted backward into the wall.
"Good job, men, but we have to keep moving. More guards are sure to be in the villa."
Arnaut started to move but his left leg screamed out in pain. He looked down to see a tear in his clothing and blood seeping out. One of the pieces of shrapnel must've hit me. He cursed to himself. On the good side though, he noticed that the alarms had been turned off. Still, he knew he couldn't run on his leg.
"Snipes, I'm hurt. Got a piece of shrapnel in my leg." Snipes turned around, pulled a small medkit off his belt, and tossed it to Arnaut.
"There should be some painkillers in there," he said. "Take them and bandage the wound up. You know basic field first-aid, right?"
Arnaut nodded as he swallowed two painkillers. He then ripped off a piece of bandage off the roll and tied it around the wound tightly. The painkillers had already started to kick in. The cut was no longer a sharp pain, but more of a dull ache. They hurried along until they got to the turbo-lifts that led up to the security room. Virius, Snipes, and Lukas went up. Virius was the best slicer, and he was going to get the info from the databank. Most likely the info was encrypted. Arnaut, CJ, and Hunter were left to guard the turbo-lifts and make sure no one followed them up. A few minutes later, Lukas, Snipes , and Virius returned with access codes to the ship. They continued sprinting down the hall, as fast as Arnaut's leg could carry him.
Upon reaching the hangar, they were surprised to see no guards. The setting sun glimmered off the steely surface of the YT-2400. The family obviously maintained it well. The squad sprinted for the ship and ran up the open entry ramp.
Arnaut went back to one of the cabins to lay down and attend to his leg, while the rest of the squad busied themselves with pre-flight checks. A few minutes later the ship rumbled, and flew out of the hangar. After taking a few more painkillers, and, through clenched teeth, removing the piece of metal from his leg. Adding more bandages, Arnaut hobbled out to the lounge and sat down next to Virius. He was busy looking through some of the other files he had managed to snatch from the villa's database.
"Well the reason we didn't see any more guards after the initial battle was because, they only had twenty or so posted in the house to begin with. Talk about low security&" He murmured to himself. Virius stood up and headed off to his cabin. It would be another few hours until they got to the convoy, and Arnaut needed a rest. He leaned his head back against the chair and drifted off to sleep.

Snipes hand rested idly on his shotguns handle as he made a few minor course corrections. The odd shape of the YT-2400 made it an annoyance to pilot for anyone without extensive experience with the vessel, even Snipes travels with a YT-1300 did little to make the piloting easier. The cockpit was attached perpendicularly to the two arms that jutted out of the disk shaped section as apposed to between them or offset from the disk like in the other models. No, this ship is thoroughly stupid. Snipes began puffing on his cigarra until the ships comm gave him a beep, he hit the button, forcing a human face to take shape just above the console, it was a thin face, unhappy and pouting, with dark eyes of great depth and similarly colored hair, but cut to imperial regulation length, it made the face look even thinner, the eyes even deeper set and the ears much larger, not that they needed the help.

"Well, I trust everything is going according to plan?" Snipes said, pulling the cigarra from his mouth.

"Yes, however there are a few details that may be slightly incorrect." He said, looking worried, no wonder, dealing with pirates was often deadly.

"Oh, and what're those." Snipes said, betraying no emotion in his voice.

"The fighters, not TIEs, headhunters, there's only two in the hanger bays though."

Snipes nodded, made sense, a common, if archaic, fighter, and only enough to rotate the guard, leaving enough room in the bay to collect the fighters after a quick initial jump out of a system, the ships lacked the sophistication to make long hyperspace trips, Come to think of it, so do TIEs. "Thats fine, I hope you took the liberty of doing something about their shields?"

"Yes, yes sir, they won't be any trouble."

"Then what will be?"

"Stormtroopers"

"How many?"

"Two squads, about 18, experienced too."

"The rest of the crew?"

"Out cold or easily incapacitated, the stormtroopers are paranoid and have another cleanser on the air vents in their rooms, eat their own ration packs, really, they're creeping me out, i mean all you ever see is that white helmet and armor, it's unnerving, I mean are there really people under there or are they some sort of droid, really?"

In spite of himself Snipes smiled. "Thats the idea, don't worry about them, they won't be a problem." Snipes smile was broadened by the mans sudden loss of color. Good, he's afraid.

Snipes cut the comm and stood up, straightening his limbs, there was still a good bit of fighting ahead of them. Snipes turned and left the cockpit then, making his way back to the lounge, smashing on the bwooper button the whole time so that when he got there the squad would be assembled. Snipes tossed the stub of a cigarra out of his mouth and pulled another one from his pocket. Unfortunately he found he had no lighter, this was upsetting. However he was in front of the others before he had a chance to throw a hissy fit.

They were all assembled, sitting around looking eager, the damaged one was new (What was his name? Ar-Yes? Are-no? Hrm. . .Ar-not, Arnaut.) but the wound was healing up well enough, he could move now, if he hadn't been able to fight Snipes would have left him on the Hades with some important-sounding-yet-pointless job like guarding the ship, Snipes didn't even know if he knew how to fly, he hadn't had time to get to know him, CJ was another new face, eager, hopefully capable.

"Alright people, we'll be boarding in less than ten minutes, Vir, CJ, hop in those turrets, take down their escort, Z-95 Headhunters, no shields, should be easy targets, we'll inverse ourselves in relation to them and dock, top hatch to top hatch." Snipes let his right hand slide down to his shotgun strapped to his waist, loaded with slugs, not buckshot, would work well against the Stormtrooper armor, "Also, there will be two squads of white terror in there, just remember your training, they won't expect an organized foe, we're the special operations wing of the Vast Empire Army, don't forget it. A little white terror shouldn't be a problem, most of us have spent at least a small amount of time in that armor, don't forget, these are the enemy, there's nothing warm and fuzzy about them like me, they'll shoot you quicker than you can think.
"Keeping with K's tradition don't so much as harm a single non-combatant.
"Oh, and boys, drop those E-11's, pick up something a little more. . .friendly" Snipes smiled and turned then, his black swoopers jacket swirled behind him as he made his way back to the cockpit.

He didn't like speeches, they made him feel old, and responsible, neither were friendly feelings. Snipes then remembered the unlit cigarra in his mouth and began fumbling around in his jacket, a heavy, strong fabric, not unlike canvas, that had been painted black, but that was wearing away in places and indeed the entire jacket was getting old, with more than a few cauterized holes where a blaster bolt had hit its mark or come near enough, Snipes didn't find anything to light the damned thing so he threw his right arm up in an exaggerated motion, starting at the elbow, there was a clicking sound, then Snipes caught the small palm blaster as it shot into the air, putting the barred a the end of the cancer stick Snipes pulled the trigger, the customary report of a small blaster sounded and Snipes cigarra was lit, he was happy.

Finally making it to the cockpit, Snipes sat down in his captains chair, Lukas wasn't far behind, sitting in the co-pilots. They just nodded to each other, there wasn't much that needed said. I was getting sick of thinking up dialog anyway. Snipes thought. Snipes gunned the engines and it was only minutes before the ship was in view, Snipes scanned it once to make sure, the beacon on it was unmissable. Snipes smiled, making friends in scummy bars had always worked before, no reason for it to stop now. He was on the fighters before they really knew what happened, using every bit of the YT's corellian power to reach them fast, before even Snipes knew what was happening four blasts of energy flew from both the top and bottom of his craft, forcing the Z-95s to explode, Snipes smile widened. Snipes spun the ship then, the corvette tried to out run him, but it's speed, despite it's size, was far inferior and Snipes caught up easily, lining up the hatches Snipes smiled as he did so, no shields blocking him, no turrets firing back, his man was good. The screen in front of him displayed a green "locked" sign and Snipes nearly began cackling his evil cackle, but the job wasn't finished yet so he settled for a pleased chuckle. Then Snipes switched off his gravity, one of the problems of going from one ship to another with different gravitational perspectives.

Snipes pushed himself up and out the door to the top exit, grabbing his G8 blaster rifle on the way, going through the lift area, Snipes dropped into the middle of a hallway on the vette, in a smoke cloud of his own creation, Snipes moved bridge-ward then and kept that side of the hall safe as his squad mates dropped down as well.

Virius shut down the turret controls and floated down the access hatch and into the main area where the top airlock was located. Listening to the gunny's advice Virius prepared his BMC-150 blaster carbine, slapping a power pack in and racking back the charging lever and setting the weapon on full auto.
Virius also thought about Arnaut and picked through the small armory that Wraith's techs sent with the squad. Virius threw an A280 armor piercing rifle to Arnaut, as he caught it his eyes lit up as he checked the weapon once over before they headed through the airlock.
Snipes looked the squad once over and flicked the safety off his shotgun and said, "Lets roll."
Snipes made sure the seal indicators were green then turned a lever to open the inner hatch. The airlock popped open and Snipes checked the small tunnel then floated through. Virius followed right behind him with his slicertool at the ready to break through the corvette's security system.
Snipes tried to pull the release hatch on the enemy ship but was unable to move it.
"Virius, crack this security so we can get to the fun part," Snipes said moving aside so the combat slicer could do his work.
"Affirmative, gunny," Virius said pulling a cord out of his laptop.
Virius worked with the systems, most of the security was disabled because of the mole Snipes had on the ship. Within fifteen seconds Virius had cracked the security lockout and popped the hatch.
Virius let Snipes go first and followed up second, Lukas next and CJ and the rest of Wraiths floating up through the hatch.
Surprisingly the insertion was uneventful with all of Wraith dropping down into the artificial gravity of the corvette. The squad covered both ends of the hallway, until everyone was through, then by Snipes command the squad split up, Red team would head for the special cargo that they need to steal and blue team would run around and disrupt any systems to make it seem that the "pirates" are running around just looking for stuff to steal. "I will lead Red team which will consist of Arnaut, CJ and myself, while Lukas will lead Blue team which will consist of just you," pointing to Lukas, "And Virius."
"Alright people, lets move out," Snipes said leading red team toward the cargo bay.
Lukas nodded to Virius and started to head the opposite way of where red team was headed. Virius checked his schematics of the Corvette and put up some nav points on Lukas's HUD, where it would be a good place to start off to cause trouble.
Finally the two blue team members heard the stomping of armored boots, both of them froze and spread to both sides of the hallway to set up an ambush. Lukas readied his whisper sniper rifle and Virius sighted his carbine.
The duo waited until two stormtroopers rounded a bend and then opened fire, Lukas's rifle coughed twice which in turn took out one with two shots to the chest, cracking the armor with a spray of crimson. Virius opened up on the second trooper and five bolts impacted in various places around his armor, which sent him sailing into the next trooper who was surprised by the flying white coming at him.
Lukas immediately sighted the third trooper being knocked to the ground and put a shot through his neck seal. Finally after their squad leader and XO just got killed the remainder of the stormtrooper guards backed off, laying down covering fire to keep any more shots from coming at them.
"Blue one to Red one. We have engaged the enemy, three enemies killed the rest have retreated, breaking off, heading down one level toward the crew quarters, over," Lukas said over the comm.
"Roger that Blue one, we have not run into any resistence yet, I will signal when, you should start to head back to the airlock, Red one out," Snipes said snapping off the comm.

Red team trekked its ways through the pristine white halls of the corvette. Smaller resistance than expected had greeted them at the entrance to the ship, but they didn't think it would last that way for long. Blue team was currently taking a scenic route of the ship, destroying anything that got in their path. This would look like one big pirate attack when the enemies finally found the corvette. If there's even anything left of it... Arnaut thought to himself. They would meet them at the hatchway once red team had the cargo and then escape from the ship.
Arnaut shifted uncomfortably under his slightly larger than his size helmet. He knew that, as the instructors always said in the academy, "It could one day save your life" but right now it was more a nuisance than a life-saver. It was a helmet similar to the AT-ST driver helmets and the Imperial trooper helmets and had a strap that could tighten it up, if the wearer needed to. Arnaut grabbed this strap and pulled, making the helmet a little tighter on his head. Now was not the time to be worrying about helmet sizes.
The group turned a corner dashed down the hall it opened up to. At the end a small turbo-lift sat. They stopped at the door and listened as Snipes comm came to life.
" Blue one to Red one. We have engaged the enemy. Three enemies have been killed the rest have retreated, breaking off, heading down one level toward the crew quarters, over." Lukas said over the comm.
"Roger that Blue one, we have not run into any resistance yet, I will signal when, you should start to head back to the airlock, Red one out," Snipes said snapping off the comm.
Snipes punched the button for the lift. The light on the control panel shone on indicating that the turbo-lift was currently making it's way up.
Snipes put his finger to his mouth and motioned for the squad to get back behind the sight of the doors. They moved to the sides of the doors and waited. One second. Two seconds. Dang how slow ARE these doors?, Arnaut thought. He tightened his grip on the d280 Armor Piercing Gun he had. Suddenly the door gave a hiss and opened. They all held their breath, but no one emerged. Then suddenly the troopers in the lift sprang forth and spun around bringing their E-11 rifles up to shoot. Arnaut pulled his trigger and the gun shot with a jerk. The first stormtrooper's chest plate shattered as his feet hit the floor. The other stormtroopers began firing. Blue team returned the favor. Two stormtroopers were killed instantaneously, and a scream came from Arnaut as a glancing shot his comm link and caused it to explode. In these close quarters, there was nowhere to hide except in the lift.
"Into the lift!" Snipes yelled. Everyone nodded in agreement. Firing off another salvo of shots, Snipes jumped into the lift, followed by Arnaut, Hunter and CJ. Snipes punched the button for the door just as Arnaut fired off one last shot. The last thing Arnaut saw before the doors closed was another crumpled stormtrooper flop to the ground.
Silently the lift descended into the heart of the corvette. Snipes took out his comm and reported to Lukas the attack.
"Keep going on, we've not had trouble with stormtroopers for a few minutes now. I expect that to change. Signal us when you have the cargo. Lukas out." Lukas cackled over the comm.
The lift finally came to a halt, and the doors hissed open. Snipes jumped out brandishing his gun, but when he saw that no one was there, he signaled for the rest of the Red team to follow. Silently they walked through even more pristine white corridors. The clack of their boots on the tiled floor resonated throughout the halls. Arnaut was surprised no one had come bursting at them from around a corner. Arnaut spoke too soon.
As the team passed by another hallway that opened up from the one they were in, Arnaut thought he saw something out of the corner of his eye, pausing for a second he looked down the hallway. With a suddenness that surprised Arnaut a blaster bolt flew out of the hallway, striking the wall behind him. He jumped back in surprise, pulling up his rifle as he did.  He fired two warning shots to make the troopers duck in cover, and then ran back to the safety of his team.
Everyone held their rifles up waiting for the troopers to exit the hallway, but they never did. They decided just to move on. One more turbo-lift and three corridors later they were standing in front of the cargo bay doors.
"Alright, move to the sides. They probably know some of us were going to be going to the cargo bay, so be alert."
The doors opened up with a loud, metal groaning sound, unlike the turbo-lift doors. Arnaut didn't even see the blaster shot. He was on the ground before he knew it, knocked down by a large hit to the head, the boots of his comrades blocking his vision. He could hear shots coming from guns, but they sounded distant, as if coming from far away. Stunned and dumbfounded he slowly lifted off his helmet to reveal a large blaster scorch running from the front of it all the way to its top. He looked up and could see Snipes yelling something at him, but he couldn't tell what. And suddenly his hearing came back.
"...ear me Arnaut?! Come on get up! We have cargo to capture!" Snipes yelled down at him in between firing shots. Arnaut groped around for his gun, and upon finding it, replaced his helmet and jumped up. He was now very glad he had worn his helmet.
Arnaut shot the first stormtrooper he saw. The trooper fell onto one of the many crates that lay scattered around the cargo bay. Jumping out of the way of two more shots, Arnaut ducked behind a crate near the bay entrance. Scanning the bay he saw the rest of his team had already found cover. He peered around the corner of the crate he was behind to see the white boots of another stormtrooper crouching behind the opposite side of the large crate.. Taking out his knife he slowly crawled over to him. All fire had stopped as both sides were hiding waiting for the other to make a move.  He inched closer when suddenly he knocked a small, spare bolt lying on the ground.
Hey...!" The trooper said spinning around. Arnaut sunk his knife deep in the trooper's throat. The trooper coughed once and let his gun fall to the ground.  Arnaut pushed the corpse away from him and removed his knife, wiping the blade clean of the slick red blood.
Arnaut turned around and saw Snipes doing the same thing to a trooper about five feet away. Hunter had jumped over a crate and blasted a hole in one of the troopers heads. CJ was nowhere in sight. Arnaut glanced at Snipes with a questioning look. He just shrugged suddenly, one of the stacks of ten crates, which were about twenty feet high, started to wobble. Someone let out a long shriek that was cut short by half a ton of metal crates. CJ stood up from among the crates.
"Well that's the last of them," He remarked, giving a half smile. Arnaut stood up and looked around, and indeed, all of the stormtroopers were dead. Snipes was busy searching the labels of each crate. Suddenly his face lit up.
"Here it is, boys..." he said prying the lid off. He had a big grin as he stared at its contents. "Good we didn't come all this way for nothing!"

Snipes face sunk the moment he saw the actual treasure. Hidden away between large chunks of Styrofoam and packing peanuts was what was unmistakably a large painting in a horrible, horrible frame. Snipes gritted his teeth and pulled it out, it was a portrait, but of who or what exactly Snipes could in no way tell. The painting was baad even to Snipes untrained eye, the colors were all wrong and facial features were so grotesque Snipes wondered if it wasn't a species he had never heard of.

". . .or maybe we did?" Snipes corrected himself.

"Maybe the frame?" Virius offered.

Snipes nodded and brought the painting high above his head, then slammed it down on the edge of a crate, the frame flew apart, however all it reveled was white plaster beneath the overly ornate gold paint, Snipes sniffed it, then tossed it into a corner. Picking up the portrait Snipes looked around the wreckage area for any sign of something that could have been hidden on the painting, scowling finally in disgust Snipes rolled the painting up and stuffed it into a pocket, then went about prying the rest of the boxes apart, ordering the surrounding members of his squad to do the same. The results were all very similar, statues, paintings, paper weights, but none of it appeared to be of any intrinsic value and art was so very easily traced. Snipes sighed, looking around at the scattered ceramics, paintings and sculptures, many of which were damaged, broken or mangled. There was no value here.

"Grab some of those sleds, we'll hit the armory i guess, they should have a good supply of arms and armor." It was a functional enough back-up plan, but Snipes was boiling on the inside at the necessity of resorting to it, "Don't let your guard slip though, there should still be a few stormies drifting around just waiting for us to get careless."

The squad looked somewhat disappointed but went about pulling our the long flat hover carts that served to haul cargo around the ship. They could only take two, Arnaut was pushing one, CJ the other, Snipes lead and Hunter fallowed. The situation was decidedly unfriendly, so Snipes gritted his teeth, puffed angrily on his cigarra and vowed the next mission would go better.

The group trudged unhappily through the pristine white corridors. All were glum; the treasure had turned out to be a bunch of useless junk. Why could Thrawn want art anyway? There was no way it would win him the war, Arnaut thought as he pushed one of the moving carts with one hand and absentmindedly tossed a statue's head with the other. He chucked the head at the wall and watched it explode into tiny stone fragments. Well at least there's the armory. He picked up another statue and started tossing it into the air.
"Correct, we did not find any treasure. Yes. No. We're headed to the armory right now, we'll call when we leave. Alright, Red one out." Snipes clicked off his comm.
"Well, they're having fun. They've made it around the top story of the ship twice and their body count is up to fourteen. We'll head to the armory and meet them at the airlock."
Arnaut continued tossing his little statue into the air. Out of nowhere a blaster bolt struck the statue sending small parts of it flying everywhere. Arnaut looked up at the corner ahead and was just able to catch a glimpse of the shooter down the hall. Snipes walked forward and tossed a stun grenade down the hall and around the corner.
There were a series of groans, some muttered curses, and it sounded like someone was fumbling around for the grenade. It finally went off and the team looked around the corner. Two stormtrooper bodies lay still on the ground. Hunter dropped down beside one and put two of his fingers on the man's neck.
"He's&still alive. What do you want to do with them Snipes?"
"CJ has the right idea," Snipes replied pointing to CJ who was busy relieving the other trooper of his weapons.
After the troopers had been thoroughly looted, the team found a nice, cozy storage closet to stash them in. They wouldn't wake up or be able to move for a few hours. When they did, the teams would already be off the ship.
Arnaut took the lead, he knew the way to armory from the holo he had seen earlier. He turned a corner, and expected to see rows of guns lining the walls as this was the armory, but instead found himself staring at the back of a white stormtrooper. He was conversing with a second trooper who noticed Arnaut as soon as he turned the corner. Why didn't I hear them talking? He wondered, as the stormtrooper turned around with a surprised yelp. Too close for blasters, it was going to be a melee fight. The trooper's fist came around landing a heavy blow to Arnaut's face. Arnaut hit the wall and spit up blood.
The rest of the team had joined the fight, as well as a few stormtroopers. The room was pretty large, compared to the corridors, and a fight ensued. Blades were out and blood was flying. CJ took a punch to the gut and was slashed on his shoulder by a vibroblade. Screaming in rage he charged at the nearest stormtrooper, head-on, taking him by surprise. The trooper and CJ fell to the floor, the trooper's knife went out of his reach, and CJ ferociously punched the trooper. CJ ripped the man's helmet off of him and angrily smashed it again and again into the man's face until the white helmet was deep crimson. The body went still. CJ stood up, picking up the trooper's knife, brushed off his uniform like he had not a care in the world, and proceeded to stab the next trooper who came up behind him. Yanking out the knife and parts of vital organs, CJ went to help Snipes.
Arnaut grabbed the wrist of the trooper in front of him and yanked him close, sticking a vibroblade into his gut. He flashed back to the day on Tatooine when the rebel leader had done the same thing to a stormtrooper right before his eyes. He wondered, Were they all that different from the rebels now? Thieving from other Imperial ships? Arnaut shook those thoughts away. They fought for the true Empire, the Vast Empire. These were more rebels then them. He shouted "For the Empire" and charged back into the fight.
Hunter looked to his left then his right. Two troopers had encircled him, and one of them had a knife. Suddenly, thinking of a plan, he beckoned the troopers to come closer. They charged, and he put his plan into motion. Grabbing the unarmed trooper's arm, he swung him around, and straight into the other's blade. The trooper hung limp in his friend's hands. The living trooper threw his friend to the ground and ran, full speed toward Hunter. Amateur Hunter thought. He carelssly sidestepped and stuck out his leg. The man had too much momentum to stop and he went tumbling over Hunter's leg.
"Caught by the oldest trick in the book," Hunter said disappointedly to the man before bringing his foot down on his neck.
Snipes dodged one thrust, then another, then another, then he got bored of dodging these knives. He grabbed the next  trooper coming toward him and tossed him against the wall. He pulled out his gun, since he was away from the main group, and shot the man three times. He turned around to face the other troopers, but none were left. One was disarmed and on his back, CJ on top of him, gun at the back of his head. The rest were dead. Snipes noticed that the pinned trooper was leaking vital fluids. He wouldn't last long. CJ put him out of his misery.
No one on the team had been seriously hurt. CJ had taken a cut to the shoulder, Arnaut had two teeth missing (but were found and inserted back in with a great deal of pain), and everyone had taken a few punches. The team stood up, retrieved their carts from around the corner, and proceeded through the doors at the end of the room that led to the actual armory. Inside they locked the door and stared at awe at the many weapons that lined the walls, sat on tables, and were crammed in storage cabinets. Double locking the door, Snipes chuckled. The armory was theirs.

Snipes looked around him and sighed, there was much more than they could take in one trip, and that's all the trips they could afford to make, the crew would be coming to sometime soon with a security force of their own. The few Wraiths, as formidable as they were, couldn't defeat the entire crew of a ship of this magnitude, the best they could do is be quick. Snipes marked a total of four boxes of ammunition to be loaded on, that's all that would fit; then the Wraiths went about piling heavy blasters and blaster rifles on top of the boxes. Once the piles got as high as they could they were fastened over with a cloth webbing to keep everything from falling. Once they were loaded up Snipes emitted a sigh and looked around one last time, they were leaving a lot, more than Snipes would have like, he glanced at wall covered in blaster racks, a good deal of the blasters were missing, then Snipes spied something, it looked like a door, he went over to it with a quizzical eye. It was indeed a door, he motioned to virius once he ascertained that there was no visible access controls.

"Open it, I don't care how." Was all Snipes said, Virius nodded.

Snipes trusted Virius but as the minutes flew by and he continued to find nothing Snipes finally had to push him out of the way, then he pulled forth his pocket torch, standard issue for Combat Engineers, rated to cut through two inches of durasteel. Snipes started the cut low, near the ground, then worked his way up about five feet, then over and then down, he was forced to pressure his body against the hot steel to push it inward, Snipes noticed Virius helped, silently Snipes thanked him.

When Snipes rose his eyes were met with a wondrous sight, a passed out crew member. Oooh, hostage. and a room filled with armor of various sorts, most of it one variation or another of imperial standard issue.

"Hunter, go get another cart, and be quick about it." Snipes yelled before the younger trooper had time to even see what was in the room.

Snipes went about pulling things down and shoving them into emptied out ammo crates, Snipes managed to, through some miracle, fit two complete sets of stormtrooper armor into a single crate minus the helmets, which Snipes would have to find somewhere else for them to go, then he smiled and smacked the pair of helmets down on Arnaut and CJ's heads. Not giving them time to speak he motioned for them to help wit the next crate which they managed to fill with another two sets, finally Snipes decided to just put webbing over the helmets and lay them on top, but not after he had managed to lay another set on top of the two crates as soon as hunter breathlessly arrived. Then Snipes sent everyone to collecting as many weapons as they could possibly carry, this cleared out a good deal more since quite a few could be carried on the handle bars of the hover carts and more than just a few could be on each persons shoulders, it limited their movement, but in theory there shouldn't be anymore stormtroopers romping around.

The squad moved as quickly as they could, which wasn't horribly fast, the hover carries were weighted down pretty well and all the troopers were carrying a considerable amount of weight. Luckily they met up with Lukas and Virius on their way to air lock. Unfortunately signs the crew were waking up were everywhere, the squad started moving faster, but it was still several minutes before they reached the airlock and could begin the awkward loading procedure, each crate had to be hauled up individually, Snipes had a portable which that could bring them from one ship to the other, then once in zero-g the crates could be easily pushed around Snipes ship, but the which was slow and most of the squad wasn't used to working without gravity. So by the time Snipes loaded the last crate in and shut the hatch C-90 corvette alarms had begun going off, quickly Snipes swam his way to the cockpit and took off, paying no attention to the lack of gravity although Snipes was sure it was irritating the rest of his squad.

Red streaks of blaster bolts fallowed Snipes out as the turrets came back on line and Snipes maneuvered for hyper space. He turned the gravity back on before hyperspace, it had to be on, then he aligned himself right and pulled the levers, the ship stop-rocketed into the every friendly blue depths of hyperspace and finally Snipes relaxed, just a little bit. The mission hadn't gone according to plan, there had been a few extra stormies, the cargo had. . .well it had sucked, but overall the squad performed well enough, Snipes had made a few planning mistakes, next time he'd use animals to designate teams, red and blue were too easily recognizable as military terms. Fox and Rabbit teams. Snipes smiled at the thought. Like a fox.

As Snipes was deep in his relaxed state the ships comm unit beeped, Snipes brow furrowed and he punched it up, a holo display leaped up in front of him, but Snipes was displeased with the message. "Hull breached, code unknown, security breached." Snipes sighed, they'd found the Hades and begun trying to get in. Snipes leaned up to the keyboard and entered "Venting procedure 26", then sighed and pulled a new cigarra from his pocket. Looks like this is home now.

***

Denkar worked at the computer terminal, trying to slice into the bastard ship they'd found hidden in the forest, completely abandoned as far as they could tell, he'd been working at it for twenty minutes, but he'd gotten no where, the ship had sent out some sort of signal, but the soldiers smashed the transmission node as soon as they found out, Denkar had managed to save the incoming signal setup though, in case there was reply they could trace it. Dankar was lost in thoughts when his terminal beeped and he looked down, an incoming signal, he brought it up. "Venting procedure 26"? What the hell does that mean?" By the time he finished the thought though his question was answered, an explosion sounded, then another, and another from within the ship, explosion after explosion, Denkar tried to get out of the way, but he wasn't fast enough, a piece of flying ship hull caught him in the back of the head and he fell forward. The Hades, ironic. was to be his last thought within this universe.

***

Snipes took a look over the weapons, there were quite a few, Snipes had them stowed away in the ships armory, but the armor, the armor Snipes would deliver to Fury in person, it was of no use to the Wraiths but five more suits of imperial stormtrooper armor would save the Vast Empire at least some money and if nothing else it was a nice gesture to show that even in the absence of a true leader Wraith Squad was not entirely helpless. When Snipes finally finished his final inspection he made his way to the cockpit to brew on the name of his new ship. It took him awhile to think of something, something outlandish enough that he could proudly call it is own, then a smile crossed his face. I dub thee "The Bachelors Pride".

The ship made a series of small hissing noises, barely audible in the cramped cabins of the ship, signaling that they were docking with the space station. They were finally back at Tadath. Arnaut took one of the new stormtrooper helmets and put it on. They would start unloading soon and he didn't want anything else in his hands. He had been forced to dispose of his old helmet. The first blaster hit combined with it being smashed against the wall had been too much for it; it had broken in half. He readjusted the new stormtrooper helmet and stepped outside his room.
Arnaut jogged over to the storage room and grabbed a crate of weapons. Hoisting up the crate he marched on toward the ramp where CJ, Lukas, and Virius were already holding other weapon crates. The ramp let out small hiss as it descended. Jeez, does everything around here need to hiss when I locks, opens, or does anything else? Arnaut thought, annoyed. He marched down the ramp and to where a small hover carrier was ready to take the weapons crates away.  The squad had kept any weapons they needed and the rest were being sent to the armory.
The large lights in the hangar made everything shine.  Arnaut squinted as he took a large ammunition crate and loaded it onto the carrier. They had taken a lot of
Snipes walked over with another crate and set it on the carrier. He motioned for CJ and Arnaut to put their stormtrooper helmets on it. Reluctantly, they gave up their new prizes. Rizzit came strolling out of one of the halls straight towards the unloading group.
"Well Snipes, see you've returned in one piece. I heard the mission didn't go that smoothly." Rizzit said as he approached. Arnaut hefted another crate onto the carrier while half-listening to the conversation.
"Yeah, we didn't find a great treasure like we had hoped. But we did make off with these." He said indicating to the E-11 crate being loaded up. He opened one to show Rizzit the contents.
"Might save us a few credits. Along with the two pairs of stormtrooper armor sets we made off with, I would say the mission didn't entirely fail."
"Very good Snipes. Well, besides to see the spoils of the battle, I'm here to introduce you to two new squad members and &your new Squad Leader." At this, Arnaut dropped down the crate he was holding and glanced up at Rizzit. Only then did he notice the three people standing behind him.
"This is Private First Class Yoder," Yoder gave a slight nod, "Private First Class Dhar'leth," he similarly did the same, "and your new Squad Leader Slick." Behind and out of sight from Rizzit, Slick let out and big grin and then threw back his head and made a beer chugging motion with his hand. Snipes let out a barely audible snicker. Rizzit glanced behind him, but by then Slick was back to military seriousness.
"Oh and one other thing..." He turned toward Hunter, "Your application to be moved to the reserves has been accepted. When you want to come back to the service all you have to do is holler...and sign seven forms in triplicate and send them to the Vast Empire Army leave office." Rizzit walked away with a small smirk.
Arnaut looked at Hunter with a raised eyebrow.
"Army life has gotten a little strenuous," He admitted. "I decided to...take a little time off. Enjoy some part of life in this Empire outside of the military. I'm taking the next shuttle out."
    Lukas and Snipes smiled.
"It's been great to have you. Hope you return someday." Lukas said sympathetically. Everyone said their good-byes to Hunter and then he was gone. Just like that.
The two new privates stood uneasily towards the side. Slick was the first to break the ice.
"Seeing as how our squad has two new members and a new squad leader, I say this deserves a trip to the bar. Drinks on me everybody!" Slick was joined by a chorus of consent.
As they walked toward the bar Arnaut thought back to his training, and though it had been under Rebel influence, it was still good training. If you can survive your first mission, you will have better chances on all the rest. Sure he had been on smuggling runs before, but this mission had been like nothing he had ever done. And the most important part was that he survived. With a grin, Arnaut jogged up to rejoin the squad.
