No, mIRC is mostly optional. But we recomend it because the squadron meetings takes place on there, and being there just generally increases your activity. But since you're not in a squadron yet, you don't need to worry about it. You can, however, try jIRC, which can be accessed from the VE main page. -----------------------

One more question, what about my bio? I'm a little stressed about that honestly. My past history is dark. When do I need to finish it?

I don't think someone like Vader. We're in the Thrawn Era, which is about 5 years after the death of Vader. But you can certainly make up some unheardof guy. -----------------------

Well, I ask that you complete all that I ask of you in that introduction letter first. However, since you've brought it up-
We normally frown upon bringing in main characters like that because it's very, very unrealistic. The chance of actually seeing Vader or knowing him is unlikely in the first place. I mean, if you maybe had a dad that saw him in battle once or something, that would be acceptable. But- being a jedi, or having parents that were... Not very acceptable. Force adepts maybe, but you shouldn't focus on it. Go on ahead and check out that thread at the top of this academy room by Sk8 talking about all that.
I suggest develeping a character for yourself. You start off with where your character comes from, what he looks and acts like- and then you develope from there. Why do they act the way they do? How were they raised? I mean- think about it. The ideas come from you, but the end product is subject to my evaluation, so do try to include as much as possible when the time comes. Report back here when you've completed everything up to the bio. The best to you. -----------------------
