Naval Announcements - 5/31/05

As I promised in the meeting I've made a few updates to the website. The first and foremost is an update of much of the information in the Pilot's handbook. The pilot's handbook also has a new home at http://www.imperial-navy.com/handbook/. I've also updated the link on the Naval main page to reflect this change (after digging through files and finally finding it). Some minor changes were made to abbriviations for positions and ranks, and the new ranks were added into the existing list.

In addition to that I've created subdomain webspaces on the imperial-navy.com domain for each squadron's use. They currently have 100 megs of space each (and can be expanded if need be) and have CGI and FTP access. I'll be emailing the login information to squadron commanders shortly and they can pass that on to their webmasters if they've got one. I've done this is an effort to centralize Naval webpages and in order to make them very easy to find. These can be located at squadronname.imperial-navy.com (ie: aegis.imperial-navy.com).

When the pages are done upload them to the aegis subdomain. Japheth doesn't want them. Your webpages and subdomains are for your use and you can create them all you want. Enjoy.

As a note, if you have an existing site you can simply upload it to the subdomain and leave it at that, if you wish.

Oh, and sk8, remember to update the link to the manual on the academy site.

Edit: Site is updated in all respects as far as I know.
Let me know once the websites have been uploaded and i'll update the VENA page and I can also do the main roster for you.
