Because ComNet does not support tabs, unless they are coded in HTML. If you really want to, you can do the HTML tags, or just hit the space bar 5 times.
you could always do < p> at the start of each line to double space it

I just want to jump in and say I'm looking forward to writing with such intelligent people who can actually use proper grammar, punctuation and spelling. I have been so incredibly frustrated with most other RPGs out there, coming here and seeing this thread just made me well up with pride (and I'm so newly arrived I havne't taken my coat off yet! ) -----------------------

One point of advice (I am saying this after reading most other people's), is make a character that is like you or someone you know. That way it is easier to determine how they will react, or what they are thinking. I am not real. How can you be talking to something that doesn't exhist.

Reno makes a good point. If you have trouble fleshing out your character, make one similar to yourself. I have such a firm grip on Phineus (Navy char) and can post his thoughts, dialogue, emotion, and actions so easily in any situation because he has such a great balance of likeness to me, as well as bits of who I want to be. The Elements of Style by William Strunk and E.B. White has been one of the simplest, yet most effective, tools of English writers for nearly a century. It contains all the rules of grammar and their exceptions, along with other tips and rules to follow when writing. I would suggest this for anyone interested in writing professionally, or for recreation, or even for school projects. This is the Bible of the English language and can be found for free either at your local library or online inside e-books and sites like Google books. I would highly suggest owning a physical copy of the book due to it's versatility. I almost always have a scan of the table of contents (the most inclusive part) on my person.
