"like if they cut a guys stomack with a lightsaber, but not enough to cut him in half and his guts spill out..."
Fool. A saber cuts and cauderizes the wound all at once. Why do you think Qui-Gon wasn't bleeding, or Luke didnt bleed out from a SEVERED WRIST.
A saber is pure energy. Burns it's way through. Intense heat, get it?

[Edit] It would cut al the way threw if the guy wielding it mad it cut all the way threw, but if he missed (dont give me any of the 'Dark Jedi dont miss' crap, because they, while having higher skills maybe, and thier force flatulance, arnt invincible.) and only cut threw the skin, or first layer of fleah.
not blood, i sait guts, like intestines, like if you cut it open it wouldnt matter how cauterized it was, the presure of the intestines on that hole would push them out, i have a friend thats a necromaniac.
anyway, another things, GL approved the NJO storyline and everything before R.A. Salvatore wrote the first book i read all the stuff in the front of the book i normaly ignore because i realy didnt want to read the book itsself and he says in there the plot and everything was partly revised by GL, so he either figured it didnt bother his plans much, or he threw his plans out the window and went with this, or he was just being an ass.

A saber doesn't always cauterize a wound. If you look in Episode IV when Obi-Wan takes out his lightsaber and cuts off the arm of Dr. Evazan's Aqualish friend, the arm is lying on the ground with blood. Perhaps there is an unspoken thing about saber color possibly determining whether it cauterizes or not. But Vader's saber cauterized...as did Qui-Gon's...maybe Blue lightsabers do less damage, since when Luke hit Vader with his saber in
Empire
it didn't cut through. But Vader's suit could also be saber resistant. There is also the time on Hoth, where Han used Luke's saber to cut open the taun-taun. Hmm...something to think about, don't you think?

The blood is an oddity - it is the only time it happens. It's just one of the many plot holes in
Star Wars
. Either that, or Ponda Boba dropped some ketchup on the floor.
Saber color has nothing to do with it. George Lucas doesn't pay attention to the saber colors other than having all Sith used red. If you'll notice, no one to date has won a saber fight using a blue lightsaber, but this is not intentional, it just happened.
Darth Vader's suit was indeed lightsaber resistant, to a certain degree. That is why when Luke slashes him on the shoulder in
ESB
nothing really happened.
And by the way, Snipes, whoever said Dark Jedi were invincible? Sheesh. We get beat up all the time over in the DJO...

yes, but then i dont ever get to see the DJO anyway, and from the way severall of you have presented it i was under the impression you believed yourselves invincible to all us mear mortals.
and yeah, i was going to state the whole taun-taun thing in my favor, he just cuts the skin open, it cauterizes the skin im sure, but the cuts still push thier way out of the taun-taun.
Also as a avid (and Rabid) Pyromaniac i know from experiance that cauterization dosenot always stop the blood from puchin its way out, albeit, i doubt that much would come out, but it could happen.
