M'kay... I was thinking about just keeping this for the Navy, but it would work great for either group. I was thinking of a different type of competition, one that doesn't require loads of activity, or time on the internet... Just a few minutes of your day.
Here's how it goes, a team is presented with a problem, and they have to think of a strategy to solve it meeting certain requirements. If their plan matches our plan or close to it, they get a certain amount of points.
So, basically, it's just to see which Flight or Squad can think more schematically.
Like lets say, we presented this situation to the Army:
You have 12 men armed only with E-11 blasters, 1 frag grenade, and they are wearing dark army uniforms with no special qualities. Their mission, is to infiltrate a (rebel) base just outside of thier hiding spot. In order to do this, they must capture the base commander. (Then we would give them a map showing the fortress, the levels, and corridors inside). They can not lose any men, it has to be full proof. No one can be in danger. (The maps will only include where the Base commander is and not the guards/troops/or any other defense personal.) They have to schematically think of how they will enter every room on the way to the top. The area must be secured by the time the Base Commander is captured.
That was a simple situation. 12 men taking over a building. You could also go into further detail about turrents, the need for vigilent disguise. Or maybe thier could be stealth missions, whatever. It's something I think people could really have fun with without having to do alot. Let me know what you think.
