My dad got this off some website (Keep in mind that in the investigative stories, Holmes is always asking Watson for his observation opinions, and those opinions have always been poorly descriptive...):
Watson and Sherlock Holmes are in the woods camping. One night, Holmes frantically shakes Watson awake...
Holmes: Watson! Watson! Wake up man! Look up! Look up! What do you see?!
Watson: Uh... Uh... Stars... Yes! Stars! I see a really bright star up there too! That could mean that that's a planet. It's surrounded by four other smaller brightly-lit stars as well, which could suggest those to be the planet's moons... Those planets could possibly hold life... Yes! With the sun, there is a high probably that life could exist on that planet! Oh! And the moon! Yes, the moon is a perfect sphere tonight! A perfect sphere with a nice gray hue!
Holmes: SOMEONE STOLE THE TENT YOU IDIOT!!
