Actually, he can order you to do that Otto. Except I don't believe you're in a state to be getting it to him. And for all clarification:

Squad Leader (SL) : Runs the entire squad
Assistant Squad Leader (ASL) : takes over for the SL in his absence, and helps to run the squad. If fireteams are used, he only concentrates on three of the six remaining troopers)
Fire Team Leader (FTC): When fireteams are used, acts like an ASL for the other three troopers that the ASL did not take for his fireteam.
