The digital clock sitting on his nightstand buzzed at 0400 hours. Cosmic had gotten up fifteen minutes earlier, and was now double checking the last of his equipment and Stormtrooper armor. Once everything was to his satisfaction, the High Colonel grabbed the datapad lying on the edge of the small sink and placed it in his right utility belt pouch.
The sound of his black knee-high leather boots' tapping the ground with each step echoed into the long hallway as he headed towards the Drill barracks. The steady beat of his strides were not alone, and several other officers walked amongst him in the early morning. Most of the troops were just now waking up. A small grin formed on his face as the thought warming up the old simulator crossed his mind.

The barracks door flew open, and the silhouette of a stormtrooper appeared in middle of the doorframe. A black-gloved hand reached over to the right and flipped a switch on the wall. The overhead lights instantly gave the room a bright shock. All three greens were sitting on the side of their cots, rubbing their eyes and yawning.
Cosmic's helmet was resting on his left hip with his left arm draping over it. He grinned to himself, and then began walking to each cot, kicking the side of the cot as he went along.
"Get up soldiers. It's 0400, and the day awaits us, along with your duties."
Cosmic loved this part the best. It was first thing in the morning, their vision still blurred by sleep, and he was instantly on each and everyone of their asses. He had an interesting squad this time around. Two men and a woman. What made the squad interesting, and probably more fun to deal with, is the fact they Drill had not yet had a female soldier within its ranks. Nonetheless, whether you were a man or a woman, Cosmic made sure that you were treated equally; that you all rolled in mud and got particles of dust and sand stuck in between your teeth.
"You have fifteen minutes to suit up, soldiers. Get a move on it immediately."

Drill had left its barracks exactly on time, and now made their way to a large concrete building. Like mostly all of the Stormtrooper Corps' facilities, the shape of the building was rectangular. The building in which Drill had entered had no windows at all. Instead, as they walked into the building, it was pitch black. The three greens could easily tell that this was a very large room due to the echo that bounced off the walls from the sounds of their footsteps.
Cosmic walked over to the wall nearest him and punched in a password on the on-wall keypad. A small
beep followed by a small green light ackowledged the password, and a two-foot square steel plate slid up, revealing a well-lit computer monitor and keyboard. Cosmic typed in another command, and two overhead lights activated. The darkness had been removed by the light, and the trainees could now see themselves and their peers. The tried to look deeper into the room, but the lights only luminated a small portion of the entrance way, and the rest of the building still lay in darkness.
Cosmic turned around, and looked at his squad. "This is what we call Simulation One," Cosmic said, motioning towards the interior of the room with his right hand. "Many training missions have been practiced here, and one hundred percent of those soldiers participating in these training sessions have benefited from the use of this technology. Today, it is your turn to use this technology to strengthen your confidence in both yourself and your skill." Cosmic pointed to the console behind him, "This console controls the entire arena. From here, I can input climate, temperature, enemies, objects, buildings, people; you name it. A variety of missions can be done here as well, and this includes: Covert Ops, Battlefronts, Search and Destroy, Rescue, and even space simulation. Today we are going to be dealing with the most common form of combat, and that is the battlefield. Soldiers such as yourselves will mainly be on the frontlines with a regiment of other Stormtroopers blasting their way through enemy lines."
Cosmic typed more commands into the computer before facing his squad, grinning. "The scenario is simple. There are twenty Rebels on the battlefield. Each are equiped with a standard blaster. You will be fighting in the desert, meaning that the heat will most likely be around and one hundred to one hundred ten degrees fahrenheit. Due to your inexperience in the field, you're going to see that fatigue will begin to overwhelm you much sooner than you'd expect. Your armor does have a temperature body glove, so that will definately help you in your struggle. Now, perhaps some squad leaders would have the safeties turned on for their first-timers," Cosmic grinned again, "But not me. The safeties will most definately be deactivated; however, I know that this is a first time for you, so I'm setting the enemy blasters on stun. If you get hit, I just don't want that laser to go right through your body without you feeling anything. I want to give you guys a sense of pain and the real thing. If you know what it feels like, your body's not going to like it, and your intincts will tell you to evade such fire in the future. With that said, lock and load, and good luck."
Cosmic typed in the command to begin the simulation. The darkness immediately turned into a blurrying collage of colors as the holoemitters activated and began simulating the environment which was fed into its computer.
A hot gust of wind blew against the Privates' faces, and particles of sand began bouncing off their armor. Cosmic prepared his blaster rifle and nodded, "Let's move out."

OOC: Ok, Drill. The simulation is set. There are twenty Rebels out there with blasters. Let's start posting.
