K as a new member maybe it's not my place but dammit, this sort of bickering has to stop! What are we? Really? A bunch of people that like to play at being Imperial pilots blasting each other... That's about it. Most of the activity I've seen lately is here, slagging each other (K not all the time but look at it from my prospective)
I've been on the zone, looking to play (actually what I need is training, if you don't believe me ask the guys on the zone... yeesh my best score was 23-2 the 2 being mine)
And believe me it gets damn lonely on the zone when you see lines and lines of names that start with TRA or UPA but none with the VEN prefix. Come on guys! I'm seriously thinking of joining another group. Can we play or not? We all know that these "promotions and awards" are worth only the pixels thier printed on. Let's get back to basics.

Okay, this is Riel Fury. VEN tends to go toward the direct connection playing, and not really much Zone work, first of all. Also, despite the fact the roster says that there are 100 Navy members, about 25% are actually active. When you get down to it, we don't have many active members. However, I personally know of four people in VE that go on the Zone and play either XWA or XvT quite often. We don't have the size of NRN or TFA or those clans, therefore our presence in the MSNZone hurts. One of the reason for all the recruiting is for the fact to get more people who are on the zone and increase the presence of VE everywhere. Personally, I don't play XWA often because I'm not good at it, but if you ever want a game of Rebellion and I'm on, give me a call. We appreciate your concern for VE's activity, but don't jump to conclusions without a bit more foreknowledge. Thank you. -----------------------

Riel,
Who's jumping to conclusions? I'm simply stating what I've seen on the zone (corroborated by you I may add) I had'nt known about the direct connection games (how does one get in on that?)
I'm not very good at xvt (actually I suck!) but I want to get better, and playing offline is not the way to go (so I'm told). The pilots from other groups aren't really interested in helping those from other clans, they prefer to help thier own. I would do the same in thier place. Heck, if there is another VE member on the zone, I'll play with them first and foremost.
Perhaps there could be an active/inactive roster list. That way we know who is up for a game and who we should'nt bug. Some people just join these groups for the heck of it and never particiapate. Take a look at the comnet for example. There is a small number of people that do 90% of the posting.
I really like this group, I want to stay but if there is nothing to keep me I'll be looking elsewhere...
As for your offer of playing rebellion, thanks, I'll have to get a copy of the game first though!

Sundown just look on the zone. I'll be there, usually. And another point I'll make is not all VE members put VE or VEN in front of their zone names. And not all people in the Navy have XvT or all the same games as everyone else. Just be patient and look around. You'll find some flying partners. And who told you flying solo doesn't help you improve?? It can like in XvT gunnery training can and so can the custom dogfight. They teach you how to have multiple starfighters around you and not survive. Granted they are computer pilots and very systematic, but hey it does help. -----------------------

Thank you Lone Wolf, It's nice to hear something encouraging.
Sk8guy, it's not that I don't like playing offline, but let's face it, playing online is so much more than that. It's not so much fun when your "team" is just you. Sure there are others but in all honesty, the biggest number of VE members I've seen there is 3. Including me.
Here's a fun game: get another zone name and ask about the VE sometimes. Either they have nothing to say (because no one knows about us) or they make some snide comment about the size of the club. They don't put us down personally, they just think it's funny the way we have a webpage with all this stuff and no members...
Actually, it's not much fun.

First off i would like to state that the Vast Empire is not a clan, it is more of a RPG club. This club doesn't revolve around playing on the zone... its just one of the aspects that VE does. Therefore besides playing MP games on the zone, this club does other thing like having a bank, a store, posting stores, etc. Besides some of us might not have the game but joined the navy anyways because we want to play the role as a pilot. -----------------------

hmm,.. slow down there.
not True,... DW do play some XvT against me (and he wins)
and he's also in the Navy,.. check his ID-lines
besides VE is not just playing, playing, playing. in fact I've been in the VE for months and only go th Zone twice.
If you read the Navy Training Manual very well, VE not all about playing games, but also making graphic, fiction story, making web site, and making missions.
If you think VE is a clan,.. i'll say yes,.. i also think VE is a Elite Imperial Clan .
About acting quickly in games,.. we have almost dozens JK playing everyday...and some XWA challenges.
About Rank and amout of salary.. i've stuck in the TRN for lesse 3 months and then stuck again in LCRW for hmm 5 months.. but hey does Rank and Salary influenced you pilot's skill ?
In VE, we have lots of great XvT and XWA pilots,.. we have survived the ORW,.. but now they more duties and less time. Now it's up to you, the Trainee, LCRW who encourages them to grab their XvT and XWA's CD and play against you.
You do that lots and there might a chance for a rank boost and maybe a medal or two

Read the Navy manual. I'd love to do that. Unfortunately, it's been unavailable since I joined.
You say it's about making fiction cool. It's also about making 'missions'. Missions for what? A game? What game?
Bear has signed up the VE on Battle stats so we can participate in WOW. Nice but it's kind of hard to play right now, the focus is 2X2 games. If you don't have a wingman, It's kind of hard to convince the other players to take someone from another clan (oops I mean group) as thier wingman. They get way less points that way.
So as I stated before it's getting mighty lonely out there and it seems like Lonewolf and I are the only ones that want to do something other than fill bandwith, even if that means leaving to join another group. And believe me I'd really hate to do that...

if there is no manual, then WTH is THIS, so i can presume that you didn't see the manual link because you haven't search the domain carefully enough ?
Making Missions,.. tell me you r in the Navy,.. and VE Navy use starfighters,.so in missions making you use XvT or/and XWA !.
About WoW,.. i can't tell you any information because i don't know anything about that,.. you should talk straight to Bear.

Sundown (and partially Lonewolf):
This post was begun in attempt to "stop bickering". And now it seems that all the two of you can DO is bicker.
You must understand - yes, the Vast Empire is a clan. It participates in online gaming and the likes. But it is, at the same time, a RPG club where people can live out another life in the SW universe. In my opinion, it's the best of both worlds.
Sk8guy is right - not all the VEN's members have the prefix in front of their Zone names. Perhaps if you were on IRC more often and talked to your fellow Imperials you would learn which of them play XvT and XWA and what their zone names are.
I myself have not played in WOW yet because I have been very busy with our school homecoming and work. But I'm going to be there tonight, and whenever else I can.
I know you are a little frustrated at not being placed in squadrons yet. I can relate - I'm still a private, too. And I think I have been quite active.
But that's not what's important - this is not a group where your rank is increased based on how good you are at online gaming. You have to get involved in all aspects of the orginization if you want to move foward in rank. Get to know people - and show that you can do more than bicker.
I hope you both stick around. I've talked to Lonewolf several times - he's a great guy.
Just give the higher ups some time to get everything worked out roster wise. Get on IRC every now and then ... and some of us will try to get online and play a little more often.
I look foward to seeing all of my fellow XvT gamers in WOW this week. Good flying - let's give the TFA, TRA, UPA, and all those guys something to talk about.

Some of us can't play cause we have a busy schedule, either we have school work to do on the weekdays and/or have to go to work.
But i signed up for the XvT WoW, but i can only like play one or two games on the weekdays cause of school work and all, i can play more on the weekends -----------------------
