Evening all, I'm very new to the VE having been recruited by Sk8guy (thanks man!).
I was wondering if someone could tell me how to join a squadron?
Is there a difference in the squadron's or are they simply to keep people in even groups for the roleplaying/zone combat aspect?

Well there are a couple of squadarons to choose from, for info look at the roster. All squadrons are good squadrons but we are fanatically loyal to each of our squadrons though. Just cehck it out yrself bud  Have fun in VEN! -----------------------

Emon said something about "graduating from the academy?" How does one do that? The only place I found anything about the academy was in the navy page and it was under renovation. Am I looking in the wrong place?

Hi, welcome aboard. I am Senior Crewman Tarkin, I'm in Viper Squadron, the ELITE Squadron. The Training officer is not inactive, he's just been hanging around the Army a lot  The Naval Academy is the site that let's you in on all the needed things to get/do before becoming fully part of the VE. I.e, downloading mIRC Chat, posting on comnet, as you are doing now, etc. After you've completed the Academy, you will be placed into a squadron. Claw, place him in Viper if you will! -----------------------

Grrr... ok, people, listen up.. I'm not the Training Officer. I haven't been for a while. I went to Viper for a bit and now I'm an advisor to the HCN.. Don't look at me for training. As far as I know, Syths brought in a friend of his for TO, but I have seen nothing from the guy as of yet.

Mr Claw is not inactive, he's just an advisor.. So its his job to be inactive
Fleet Admiral Niksavil is the new TO, but as I said, and as Talon said, he doesn't seem to be doing much.. 
Sythspawn might get a chance to put some people in squadrons this weekend, but if he doesn't.. PJ might. We'll see -----------------------

Um, how is any of this helpful?
All I wanted was a squadron to call my own. Is that too much to ask? 
I just not sure what the holdup is. Did I do something wrong? Did I not fill something in or not email someone I should have? If so PLEASE let me know! I will do it!
I feel like I'm standing in the hall of a stardestroyer with my orders and kitbag and no one can stop to tell me where to report or whom to report to!

Sorry for the mishap, Sundown, but as soon as the new Fleet Admiral kicks into gear, you're training has to be on a halt for a little bit...UNTIL the Navy Academy page is up. -----------------------

Well, I dunt know if Sundown actually gets to read this. Even though that VEN might be lacking in activity and a smooth running of things, people shouldnt actually just dig out all those bad points. Vast Empire has numerous good points, and I think these can overrule the bad points.
But wat's true is that Vast Empire IS indeed lacking in activity. To get that up, what we need is MORE recruits that are active, not active recruits that run away from us. So what we need is a way to keep them in. Can we have a faster turnover of recruits into squadrons? Then we can actually build up from there. Pilots are the base of the Navy, and Vast Empire Navy does really need more pilots to get competitions more interesting.
What I suggest is that we have to get the battle board up as soon as possible and we must really hold more inter squad/squadron competitions. That's why we joined the Vast Empire right?
I'm not trying to make things worse. Just hope that we can each learn something from this, and show it to Sundown one day that Vast Empire Navy isnt as bad as it seems. IT WILL RULE ONE DAY!

Okay, let's try to work something out here without making any rash decisions. We need to get a MP squadron going, which has been on the drawing board for a while. Also, as a new Squadron Commander, I'm gonna have competitions just to get in my squadron. So activity will move up, we just need some time to get things rolling. This is for all VEN, whether you have been alienated or not. I hope this will help remedy things. -----------------------

Things are sorta ... yech ... right now. i hope the act is gotten together soon, too.
i will be thrilled to see you at least stick around for WoW. We would be honored to have you fly with us.
After that, do as you choose. But i think you're a cool guy and someone the VE and Aegis Squadron could really use.
And, if you stay - Riel and i will give you your money back. Right, Riel?
