Greetings all. I'd like to put some stuff out on the table. Hopefully all of you will read this to the end. Firstly I'd like to say that the reason why I joined the Vast Empire because I saw it as a club that had the base structure to be great, fun and enjoyable. I joined it, and hopped into the Elite Squadron Competition at Navy then. That was really fun and I had fun. But after the Story Competition, all was silent. There was nothing on except for some valiant attempts of some members to spice up the Comnets and mIRC with Trivias, Yahoo! Pool etc. In short, we didnt have anything official going on, like online gaming, servers, competitions so on and so forth. All the High Council members had always wished that all VE members would be active, but without any possible activity, how could we be active. To be blunt, I think that the reason for the rather high rate of AWOLs that we have NOTHING to do. Some get so bored that they just drop out and disappear. Okay, so this is what I'd like to propose: - 1) Let VE be more open. As much as I hate to say this, I noticed that the higher ranked members of VE are generally cold to the lower ranked members. There isnt an open, friendly atmosphere in the #vast_empire channel and everyone keeps quiet. C'mon, we joined this club to have fun, play, make friends and have a brief escape from the Real World. 2) Have competitions always running. Get more gaming. Get more competitions. Eg: In some succesful clubs that I have seen, some have like 4 competitions running simultaneously. The members are never bored. They always have something to do, therefore they become active. Some might argue that even with the current competitions now, no one participates but we still NEED that flow of competitions so that when NEW MEMBERS come in, they can maintain active, and then I guess the HC can work from there. Alright, I've spouted all I wanted to say that I could think of atm. Any comments?

Some good points, but the Navy has just changed hands and it's the holidays, so things are slow. Keep your eyes open around the first of the year for new stuff. I'm currently working on Chapter 8 when I get the chance, so expect that to finally be spit out sometime soon-ish.

Yeah .. that's true. I think we have to push hard for recruitment. The VE has really too little people to do anything that would be fun. I'd say let's kickstart with a story maybe in the new year once 2003 comes. But after all I was just only posting my thoughts. It has been irritating how slow and still VE is at times.
