A simple question really, and hopefully it will garner some answers.
Thinking back on when you joined the VE, particularly the Stormtrooper Corps, is there any information you wish you had at the time? More importantly, is there any information you STILL wish you had?
Basically, we have Drill squad and as a screening tool for laggards, it is great. We filter out the useless and send the truly active to the other squads.
We can do better.
What we can do is offer information that a trooper can carry over into their next assignment.
What I would like to know is what that information should be. We've been hashing this out amongst the AHC all the way down to the squad leader level, but now we want to hear from you - the average trooper.
Thanks in advance for those who participate. ----------------------- XO/HCOL Fury/VEA/TADATH/VE [PoC][SotE:HC][SotE:VEA][IOC]

Well back in the day when I was a PFC, I never knew what other weapons a Stormtrooper or a squad possesed beside a blaster rifle. Maybe some info about other squad weapons and how to use them.
Also squad tactics. When I first began posting on the Chapter 6 story I didn't know one single squad tactic. The only thing tactic I knew was shoot, duck, hide, run, and shoot again. Maybe some info on squad tactics and movement also. ----------------------- Sergeant Major Duran "Demi Wraith" Driscoll

I can do this (and probably will). But do we hold troops to learning it?
If nothing else, I'd like to enforce that movement drills be recognized plus some basic assault and defense tactics. Anything past that can be optional I suppose.
As for the weapons, definitely we can do some write-ups of some basic examples of most types. This will tend to get involved though. Just as long as everyone is aware of that.
Thanks Demi. ----------------------- XO/HCOL Fury/VEA/TADATH/VE [PoC][SotE:HC][SotE:VEA][IOC]

Maybe it should also be enforced that the specialty of the squad be used when the troops post. Also, I get more and more questions on "who do I see for this?" and "Who do I see for that?" This isn't nessecarily my troopers, but it's like don't they teach you anything in drill? ----------------------- Platoon Sargeant Rizzit BlackHeart

Exactly the point. If you wouldn't mind, what types of questions do you get?
I wouldn't mind addressing some of those types of things. ----------------------- XO/HCOL Fury/VEA/TADATH/VE [PoC][SotE:HC][SotE:VEA][IOC]

in general, when it comes to technology, if your really interested, the Essential Guide series is great. it often times explains tactical usage for each weapon too. I use mine all the time when i'm writing.
