Some of you are new to this reporting lark, so these first assignments will be your sort of "test". If it goes well, I'll go to the printing press. If it doesn't, which I know for a fact it won't (

A war report from a fictional frontline - detail what happened, injuries, objectives etc. Frontline *MUST* be on the ground (not in space).

Right, since this is a test.. your deadline is going to be.. incredibly short. You will have one week - thats 100 words a day, which should take most of you about 12.3 minutes. And for the money you'll be getting, thats a pretty good productivity rate.
Having the deadline this close serves two purposes.
1) I can see who can work really hard
2) I can see who is serious about working for VE Today
If, for whatever reason, you can't meet this deadline.. email your death certificate to

No, just kidding. If you can't meet the deadline, I want to know at least 3 days (72 hours) Hawaii time (
) before the deadline - which is the meeting next Sunday (18th August). Three days before that is when I want to know if you can't do it - if you tell me on IRC five minutes into the meeting "Erm.. I can't do my article", then I'll do one thing. First, I'll fry your ass. Second, I'll make sure you'll never work in this town again.. And finally, I'll learn to count

Oh, and before you ask.. how should you set out your article? Easy. Headline at top, story underneath. Don't worry about tabs and things if you don't want to - but if you have bolds, italics etc, send your article in a .wps, .rtf or .doc attachment please.
