Quick question lads, what is the general background to the current story?

The vibe I got is that we're regrouping but is it after a successful or unsuccessful offence/defence?

I know in the grand scheme of things it won't matter but are we to write as the victors? The jolly green giants walking this earth with guns (to borrow from FMJ) OR are we the skulking curs licking our wounds after yet another defeat in the continuing decline of the Empire?

I'm writing from the perspective of one who's halfway a conscript so it's no real issue for me but I was just wondering in what sort of mood is the current story to be?

The indomitable after Hoth? Or are we cowering after Yavin?

I made words. A short intro post for me is up.

Okay, to those mentioned in my post, you will be present in this meeting for the next couple of posts, at least one from each of you if possible.

Rocketman, you and I will be engaged with the orbital transfer facility, with a small squad of marines boarding. Please fill in the plan of attack you wish to use with your next post. As well as any information you want available

Balac, you will be heading to ground to raid for food supplies, we will provide you both with transport down, and air cover once you are down there through the 627th, please fill in the briefing from your perspective with information regarding your plan of attack, and whatever information you want made available.

Timetable for attack is 2 days from now in story, so you have that much time to prepare and train.

Razkin is the NPC CO of the 627th for now, and they will provide close in support, but can return to space as needed, Rocketman you will have access to the 203rd for your own use, and we will have the 498th, a squadron of Avengers as an operation reserve if needed.

Writing a post now. It's a longish one. Going to tie a few things together and set up the Army side of the op.

In regards to squad name, my vote's for Harbingers.

I'd vote for something a bit darker with the name, especially if we're currently on a low after having our arses kicked by Rebels. Something grim.

I'd say something like Revenants, Wraiths, Banshees etc.

The other names are cool though!

Wraiths, nah. They're copyrighted, so to speak xD

And I thought Harbingers, as those are the forerunners or bringers of news. I would think it fits quite well with our situation.

I like Death Dealers or Doom Bringers.

So I read through the story and understand this is some sort of raid for supplies and what not. In truth, for a post, what would be my best avenue for introductions for me? I noticed the briefing had just taken place as well.

Just want to double check and make sure I know what's what.

Indeed, in my post I've mentioned how a number of people I recognised by face(but not name :P) have entered the equipment store. One of those people could be you!

Keep in mind that I've also included a mention about a lack of frag grenades and the sets of armour being standard Stormtrooper. I don't know how important the former is to anybody, but since Mox is somewhat fond of grenades and generally explosives it made a note in his mind.

Aye I imagined that if we're regrouping after a heavy contact that things like explosives are in shorter display, they're a bit more easily depleted than blaster packs.

Our current "flagship" isn't unduly impressive either so I think we're stuck with pretty standard equipment as far as it goes. I can't see the Koom Valley stocking much in the name of commando kit or specops gear.

Fair enough, I felt it would be the opposite, like not that the ship is designed for planetary assault but that there'd be explosives in the weapons locker just in case the need arose. You never know when you might need them! Especially if they were launching a boarding action.
