As the projects I plan on embarking on involved with wiki work are going to be quite time-consuming and large, I am planning to post monthly reports regarding their various statuses.
I'd also like to keep this thread less cluttered as some others have been in the past. Any minor comments or questions can be PM'ed to me. So, without further ado:
Report for July of 2013
Naval Timeline Project: This is currently a joint project with two separate parts:- Mission Archives
- This project is currently staffed by myself.
- It entails compiling data for each of the VEN's canon missions and recording the collected data into sortable tables.
- Furthermore, when this project is finished, I plan to have two separate archives, one covering missions by year and one covering missions by the units involved.
- Naval History
- This project is currently headed by Gurlanin.
- It entails writing concise histories of individual canon missions, a "recent" naval history for the new recruits, and also a full history of the Naval Division.
Naval Medal Archive:- There is a separate thread with the current details, but any Naval member has until Sunday July 21 to submit their medals for archiving purposes.
Squadron Page Updating: One of my future plans, this project entails finding each of the division's past squadrons' wiki pages and archiving them in a few different places for easier access on the wiki. This project is aimed for people interested in our full history and for new recruits, to help with have an idea of the history of the squadron they are placed in.
Fleet Command Ship Archive: I plan on the same general idea with our Fleet Command as with the Starfighter Corps. The idea here is to pull the major, player-controlled ships (e.g, Adjudicator) and put them in similar pages. Again, for new recruits and ease of access.
Main Naval Page Revamp: I plan on working closely with Trick on this one, if he approves of this. I feel as if we can streamline the look and feel of our main page. There will be more details later on as I develop this concept a bit more.
That's all I have for now. The final three listed projects have not yet begun; my focus is currently on the timeline. But in the coming months, I hope to begin wrapping that up and work on streamlining the look, feel, and ease-of-access of the Navy's portion of the Wiki. If you would like to help on any of these projects, please go ahead and send me a PM.
