I hope you are all settling into your new (old) squads. I just wanted to address a few questions I've seen on the boards.
Biggest one was regarding yet another reshuffle. I can't agree more with you, it's hard to feel an identity with a squad when you seem to move to a new one after every story. I can promise that there is no further plans for movement and in fact this is an attempt to get back to basics. We have chosen two of our longest lived squads in the VE and we hope they continue their legacy with all of you.
The current story is the beginning of a story arc that will be done as platoon stories and separate squad stories leading towards a final conclusion. There will be no competitions of any kind until the story arc is concluded, so feel free to relax.
You also noticed that we gave the squads specific specializations (again). That means that as long as you are a full trooper (as in not in an attachment), and active for one month you will automatically be awarded ONE of the following specs:
Blackjack:
4.1 Heavy Blasters
3.1 HVW Mobile Anti-Infantry
A8 Mobile Ordinance
RAIDERS:
A21 Experimental Weapons Tester
A22 Experimental Armor Tester
A23 Experimental Gear Tester
Troopers you get to choose the spec you earned and SL's are permitted to award the spec based on trooper activity and use of the spec item in story. The only rule is that you may not negotiate for the acquisition of any other specs. Send us a suggestion for a future revision, but we will not be debating on a case by case basis. This is your list and it is squad specific.
