Hunched over his gear bench, Jacen was working on a project of his. He put some of the final pieces together, completing it. Flipping up his optic headset, he fit his new tech into place. “3PO, are you connected?” He asked.

“Yes sir, Heads Up Display is coming up now.” The droids voice came over the built in comms. A wireframe arched over the inside of the device, assorted widgets than came online. “Sir, all systems are operational; running diagnostics.”

“Actually, 3PO, while you do that, could you bring the optics online?”

“Right away sir.”

The blackness suddenly erupted into an image of his workbench. The assorted items he had assembled were picked up and tabs appeared with schematics of what had them. “Sir, all systems are functioning at maximum capabilities.”

“Good, optics are running within acceptable parameters. Begin shutdown sequence.” Jacen told the droid, removing the faceplate. “PD, come in here.”

The large droid entered the room. “What is it that you require sir?” It said with a mechanical voice noticeably deeper than the protocol’s.

“I need to outfit you with some new gear.” The man told his machine.

PD-Q5 stood next to the table as Dusk removed the first item from it. “This one will give you direct connection to me via my new faceplate.” He attached it at the base of the droid’s ‘neck’ and plugged it in.

“Update complete.”

“Now this one is just an added weapon, a wrist mounted, short range dEMP. It’ll fry any electronics 20 feet from you, in the firing cone.” He attached it to his droids left arm. “It’s a one pop, you’ll need another cartridge after every shot, so, use it sparingly.”

“And finally, the piece of resistance; your jump jets, I made them from parts of a set of R82 jump boots. They’ll give you a brief period of sustained flight. But they would be best used to give a slight hop to gain a height advantage on the enemy.”

“Duly noted, sir, anything else?”

“Get the gear ready and have A-3PO get my new armor laid out for my return. I’m going to the bar.”

*                        *                        *

He had his faceplate, screwdrivers, and a hold-out blaster on his hip; his brown duster easily concealed them. He ordered a drink from the waitress who’d caught the fancy of Jacen, who simply waved off her attempts at flirting. He was here to meet someone who he’d recently got back in contact with, an old gambling buddy of his. He stared into the crimson liquid in front of himself, waiting for his friend.

Hearing the door open, Jacen glanced upward. In the door frame stood the hulk of a man, Dac Harrik. The mandolorian looked around for the one who had summoned him there. Dusk shifted his hand in a slight gesture of greeting. “Jacen, Jacen Arture; is that you, you swindling bastard?” Hammerhead called to his friend.

“Aye, it’s me. Now why don’t you have yourself a drink?” He said, winking at the waitress. “Could ya’ be my friend here something to wet his thirst, sweet cheeks?”

“Right away, hon.” She said hurrying behind the bar.

“Now Jacen,” Dak asked.” Why have you called me here? You said it was urgent.”

“Aye, it is. Put these on.” Dusk ordered his large companion, handing him two contacts. Placing a device on the center of the table, he activated it, displaying a schematic of a large tower.

“Hmm, what’s this? And why isn’t anyone staring at the holo?” The Mando question once more.

“This is my father’s company’s HQ. Also, the device is emitting a special wavelength only visible with the eye-pieces I gave you.”

Hammerhead looked over the schematics with scrutiny. “So again, why’d you ask me here?”

“I need muscle, and you my friend, have it. You will be aiding me in a tactical assault on the tower; Minimal men, minimal fighting, minimal damage. We do NOT want to cause chaos in there; A-Sec would be all over us in minutes.”

“Alright, when do we start?” Dak said, with a large smile creeping along his face.

“Our flight leaves in an hour.”

OOC:
For those of you who are reading these posts, my initial post will differ from Dusk’s as we have argued for some time about the beginning of the story. It will only be slightly different.

HammerHead groaned as he rose from his bed. He leaned over and rubbed his eyes in a useless effort to wake himself up. He staggered into his bathroom, disrobed, and took a shower. After drying off, he checked the time and found that it was already 5:00. Having no other plans he slid on his street clothes and readied himself for a well needed voyage to a cantina.

As he finished his preparations for a night on the town, he heard a faint noise from across the room. Approaching it with caution, HammerHead whirled around a corner with his gun drawn, only to be met with his closet door. He opened it, it the noise increased in volume. In an effort to find the source of the noise, HammerHead dug through the various boxes, containers, and wracks in his closet until he found the small metal box were the noise was coming from. He knew the box well, for it used to hold his day to day valuable before he joined the army. He unlocked the lid, and slowly opened the lid of the box. Inside he found the source of the noise, his old civilian com.

HammerHead was fairly intrigued, as most of the people from his pre-enlistment life were either dead or had his new comlink's info. Upon observing the comlink, he found that he did know the person from which he had been contacted.

Jacen you smug son of a bitch.

Much to HammerHead's surprise he had been contacted by Jacen Arture. HammerHead knew Jacen from his pre-enlistment days in which he frequented bars and casinos. He met him on a sabacc table in which they were both cheating. HammerHead and he played together for quite some time, until they were caught by their opponents. After a heated argument they were left with two options, get arrested of fight their way out. The duo fought hard and won. HammerHead, however, ended up taking the brunt of the damage. Jacen then left Hammer for dead in the alley joking of a life debt as he waltzed of into the night. HammerHead never forgot about that, and he held a fairly large grudge against the man.

Hammer decided to hear what the bastard had to say, as it had been a very long time since the met he wanted to know what Jacen may have wanted.

It was a recorded message that goes as follows:
"Hello Dac old buddy, I have some information that may be right up your alley. I have a job that needs to be done, and you are the right man for the job. I know our last encounter was rather unpleasant, but I think you will readily enjoy this trip. If you are questioning my motives, I assure you that I mean you know harm and that you will be well compensated for your trouble. If you interested meet me in the location list at the bottom of the message. Remember, it's urgent."

"Hmmm, that slimy rat wants me to help him. I'll see what he wants, because no matter what happens I'll get to punch him."

HammerHead then realized that if he was going on some voyage, he would need more weapons than just his revolver. He then reached up on one of his closet shelves and brought down a duffle bag. He unzipped the bag and started filling it with all sorts of weapons. Most notably, he put his pup grenade launcher, heavy E-11, a bundle of various explosives, his leather roll of special weapons, and many boxes of ammunition for his weapons. On person he carried to more revolvers (both of higher caliber than his usual side arm), a sawed off shotgun, and a large combat knife.

HammerHead was eager to give Jacen a beating, but decided to keep it to a minimum until he heard him out. As he approached the bar, HammerHead became very excited. I have been waiting years for this.

HammerHead walked into the cantina ready to start a brawl when he saw Jacen's smug face smiling at him.

“Jacen, Jacen Arture; is that you, you swindling bastard?”

“Aye, it’s me. Now why don’t you have yourself a drink?” He said, winking at the waitress. “Could ya’ be my friend here something to wet his thirst, sweet cheeks?”

“Right away, hon.” She said hurrying behind the bar.

Before Jacen could turn his head back around to talk, Hammer slugged him square in the jaw, throwing him right out of the chair.

“Now Jacen,” Hammer said sarcastically. "Why have you called me here? You said it was urgent.”

*              *                  *                  *                    *                  *

HammerHead stood with his bag of weapons waiting for Jacen to show up at the spaceport. Soon he saw the man approach, and once again he had a smug smile on his face.

"You’re a little early, I'm surprised."

"I packed before I left the house."

"You never struck me as someone who would be prepared."

"Yes, but I have struck you." Hammer said with a grin.

"Very funny. So... what have you been doing this whole time?"

"I could give you the long and bloody story, but in short, I joined the Vast Imperial Army."

"You’re kidding, me too."

"Really, that has to be an interesting sight, A spineless guy like you trying to fight a war."

"I’ll have you know that I'm the Squad Leader of a very important special forces squad."

"Yeah, right."

"I don't kid you, you better show me some respect."

"If you’re some kind of "Special Forces Squad Leader" what's your calsighn?"

"Sargent Dusk of Wraith Squad."

"Wait your...SON OF A BITCH!!!"

"What, have you heard of my legendary exploits?"

"No, I'm HammerHead of Ghost Squad."

“Oh…this is an interesting coincidence.”

"No Shit."

His jaw was still a bit sore from where Dac had impacted him. But he would let it slide, this time, due to how the two had left off. PD-Q5 was in the freighter Jacen had purchased along with his hover-sled, two basilisk droids, and assorted combat droids. They had already made the jump to hyberspace and the young man was informing his larger companion on the gear he would be needing. "So I got a z-6 rotary cannon for you. I've installed a mechanism to decrease the power output to were it will have the ability to stun instead of kill."

The man hefted it from the table it was rested on. "I like it." Dac said spinning it up, provoking an annoyed squawk from Crumly; who jumped out of the weapons firing path.

"Remember, lethal for the droids, stun for unruly civvies. Also, if you come across a secretary by the name of Kelly Chals, DO NOT SHOOT HER, take her back to the hover-sled and explain the situation." Dusk said, staring directly into Dac's eyes.

"So, you got your self a girl." He said chuckling, "Don't worry, I'll get her out of danger. But if she's a looker, I might keep 'er." He let out a hearty laugh. Dusk's intensity didn't waver.

"Actually, your main objective is to find her and get her out safely. Am I understood?"

"Sir, yes sir." The larger man said, still laughing to himself.

            *                                    *                                *

"Dac, are you in position?"

"Yeah, you give the word, I'll rush in there."

"Alright... NOW!" Jacen shouted jumping from the roof, and zip-lining across the street and onto the walkway surrounding the transparasteel dome on top of Arture Tower.

"Jacen, the's droids of your's are kicking ass! Ha Ha!" He laughed as the rapid fire blast of the Z-6 came over the comms. "All the civvies are staying down, but these security bots, are putting up some resistance. I'll call you if anything notable happens."

"PD, charges set?" He said looking at the droid.

"Yesir."

"3... 2... 1... breach!"

The blast blew the heavy door clear off it's hinges. PD was first in followed by Dusk than the b1-As. The swept the mini-park on the roof, than moved to the blast door to the stairs. Pulling out his sonic screw driver he got right to work hacking nto the security to open the doors.

Dac, are you in position?"

"Yeah, you give the word, I'll rush in there."

"Alright... NOW!"

HammerHead grinned as he strode into the lobby of the large corporate building. He walked in with a large back across his shoulder, drawing the attention of some of the people inside. A security droid held up its and simply said "Halt." Hammer was directed to place his bag on the scanner so that it could be checked. HammerHead complied laying down the bag and moving forward. He didn't even reach the scanner however, when a loud alarm went off and the man looking at the screen screamed.

"Alert we have a priority in sector 1 floor 1. Send immediate action on threat level 8."

As a security droid tried to apprehend HammerHead, he reached in his coat and whipped one of his revolvers. He planted a slug in the machines head, and it fell to the floor. He then fired at the other droids diving behind a pillar. He came back around, both revolvers in hand firing away at the lifeless enemy. As he cleared through the last of the droids HammerHead slid his guns into their holsters and leaped for his bag, which contained the Z-6.

Hefting the mighty weapon up, HammerHead sprayed the room with fire, causing most civilians to duck and most droids to blow up. HammerHead soon realized however, that he couldn’t take all of the droids down. More and more poured into the room and Hammer frequently found himself being backed into corners.

"Jacen, the's droids of yours are kicking ass! Ha Ha! All the civvies are staying down, but these security bots, are putting up some resistance. I'll call you if anything notable happens."

HammeHead knew his words were lies, but he had to tell the guy with the easy job something.I'm not going to be able to drag this out much longer. As soon as these thoughts crossed his mind, his Z-6 ran out of ammunition. Thinking on his feet, HammerHead hurled the useless hunk of metal into a group of security droids crushing most of them with its force. Hammer once again pulled out his revolvers and shot into the endless horde of mechs, but no mere pair of slug throwers would defeat his enemy. Unable to reload his pair, HammerHead pulled out his slightly smaller caliber personal revolver and used it. After it was spent he went for the big gun, his 8 gauge shot gun. Its unprecedented strength ripped through the largest droids that had arrived, which actually caused the mechanical forces to move back.

Taking any time he could, HammerHead reloaded his weapons and began his cycle of weapon usage all over again. It still, however, wasn't enough as the endless stream of droids came running in for the fight. Hammer was already exhausted, and he was burnt in five places, and bleeding in twelve. HammerHead couldn’t hold back the forces if he tried, so he decided to make a break for it.

"Dusk, I can't hold them off, there's to many. I don't know what you brought me into, but these droids just keep coming. The room is filled with scrap metal, and new droids just push it aside or walk over it."

"I can see what you mean, I have encountered some fairly formidable forces as well, but I got past them. You need to save Kelly that is the priority."

"FRAK YOU!"

"Do it Dac!"

"I can't hold them off much longer...AAAAHHHHH!"

Before HammerHead knew what hit him he was stabbed by a 8ft tall mechanical hulk. It flung Hammer of its blade and into a wall. The impact broke a few bones, and the blade left a new gash in Hammer that went straight through his shoulder.

In a last effort to escape his near unbeatable enemy, HammerHead pulled out his pup grenade launcher and let the metallic bulk have it. He ripped a large whole in the droids body, which caused enough damage to down the droid.

HammerHead took this last chance to sprint for the elevator. He arrived in time, and the elevator started to lift him to safety. As HammerHead began to think the worst was over, the elevator stopped. Annoyed at this intolerable nuisance, Hammer climbed on the top of the elevator to look for another means of transportation. He was luck to spot a vent that was half covered by the elevator, but it took him only a short time to make a large enough hole to fit through.

HammerHead used his newly found path to crawl out of danger and in to god knows what else.

*        *        *        *        *        *

Kelly sat at a desk on the sixth floor doing some extra work in the records department. She was almost ready to go home, and then the alarms blared all around her. As she sat startled, a message came over her radio.

"Alert we have a priority in sector 1 floor 1. Send immediate action on threat level 8."

Terrified,  Kelly quickly finished her work and headed for the emergency exit. She was stopped, however, by five security droids when she opened the door.

"You may not proceed." Said the droid in front.

"I'm Kelly Chals, I have security clearance on the highest level, and I demand to leave this building.'

"Our orders state that we are to protect this floor. All floors are on lockdown, so you may not leave.'

"Hunks of junk, I'll have you scrapped for this!"

Kelly sat and waited for almost 15 minutes, while hearing various sound of battle. Wanting to know what was going on, Kelly tapped into the security feed to watch the ongoing events. There was nothing going on any other floor, except evacuation. If these people can evacuate, why can't I? She quickly scanned over other feeds, but was startled at the sight of the lobby. The once grand and ornate lobby of the building was now covered in rubble and the bodies of fallen droids. There were no active droids in the room, so Kelly decided the danger was over.

"The sound of battle have stopped I would like to leave."

"Denied."

"I want to leave know."

"You will leave when we are given the order to leave you."

"No, I want to leave KNOW!"

Kelly's shouting caused the droids to loose tolerance for her uncooperative nature. The lead droid waved his arm, and two other droids tied her to a chair, with on standing right behind her as a sentry.

The now fearful Kelly sat helpless in her chair, waiting for something to happen. Suddenly, the wall broke apart as a man came out of the ventilation shaft. He was fairly bloody and beaten, and looked like he had been through hell. What struck her the most was how tall he was; his height was greater than that of the droids guarding her.

It didn't take long for the droids to notice the man, but before they could even fire a shot he had his weapons out and he started shooting'. The weapons were loud and seemed to blow holes in the droids, so Kelly deemed that the strange man was using slug throwers.

The man had downed through of the five droids that held Kelly, but the leader and the sentry still remained. The leader, being smarter than the others, nocked the stranger's guns away and engaged him in hand to hand combat. Kelly thought that the droid would win for sure, but she was shocked when the man ripped off the droids arm and made a significant dent in its head with his fist.
The punch knocked the leader only a few feet back, but it still sent the droid to the ground. The Sentry shot several times and missed so it decided to approach the Stranger to finish the job. The Stranger pulled another weapon out from his coat, this one longer and bigger than the others. As sound like a small explosion was heard and Kelly saw the security Droid get ripped in half. The leader rose once again, and it two was cut in half.

The Stranger cut off Kelly's bindings and tried scouted about the floor until Kelly’s ears stopped ringing and she spoke to him.

"Who are you?"

"I'm Dac Harrick, and I'm here to rescue you. Come with me if you want to live."

Dusk burst through the still smoking door frame with his small team of droids. There were a few sec-droids that came around the corner with blasters raised. “Contact.” PD called as he squeezed off a blast with his bi-polar blaster, taking both down.

“A-One through three, clear the right hallways, four, five, and six come with me.” Dusk ordered.

Turning left up ahead, the group encountered a large force of droids. “Fire spread besh, staggered.”

“Acknowledged,” The B-1’s called.

Dusk raised his EE-3’s and dove to the ground. Blaster fire arced overhead. He fired both weapons into the droids. The first few blasted only scarred the armor before finally bringing one of them down. The security finally wised up and focused fire on Dusk, forcing him to quickly roll to the side.  Reaching toward his belt he unclipped a small device and slammed it in front of himself. A light blue shimmer filled his vision, the device was quickly growing warm. Jumping to his feet, Jacen ducked through a doorway before the device burst into a small fire ball and the shield dropped.

Reaching around the opening, his visor scanned the hostiles. Blueprints flashed before his eyes and finally stopped on one. They were third gen Arture tech security droids. Areas on the specs flashed red at the base of the neck and arms. “Their armor is strong, aim for their neck and arms where it is weak.”

Popping out from cover, the squad leader released a volley of blaster shots at the enemy. A few took struck the chinks in their armor, downing them; but most just impacted with almost no damage.

“PD, this firefight is getting us nowhere. Use the dEMP!”

“Yesir.” He said, charging the enemy. He smashed one of them into a wall, crushing their internals, and got behind them. “Take cover!” It called, firing the dEMP into the cluster. A wall of electricity ripped through them and down the hallway, causing all the droids not behind cover and all electronics to spark and shutdown.

"Dusk, I can't hold them off, there's too many. I don't know what you brought me into, but these droids just keep coming. The room is filled with scrap metal, and new droids just push it aside or walk over it."

"I can see what you mean, I have encountered some fairly formidable forces as well, but I got past them. You need to save Kelly that is the priority."

"FRAK YOU!" He shouted back.

"Do it Dac!" Jacen said more forcefully.

"I can't hold them off much longer...AAAAHHHHH!"

“Dac… DAC!” The young SL shouted through the comms. Switching to his personal channel he called his protocol droid. “3PO, Dac’s hurt and not responding to my calls. Send the B-1 standards and the B-2’s with Droideka support. Also, warm up the Vulture and HMP gunship; we might need them.”

“Right away sir…” There was a brief pause. “They’ve been deployed and will arrive shortly.

*                    *                *

Dusk was hunkered behind the desk of one of the floor managers with PD-Q5. The b-1aa’s were fighting hard but it was a losing battle, they just didn’t have the numbers. Looking to his mechanical companion he said, “We’re going to have to find a way to lose these sec-droids. I’ll order the b-1’s to unleash everything than escape through the windows and that might be just enough to make a window of opportunity to slip away.”

“Understood, I’ll call the gunship to pick them up.” It responded.

“B-One through six, unleash all the fire power you have than escape through the east windows. The HMP will emit a rally signal and pick you up. Do not return unless I, PD-Q5, or A-3PO orders otherwise. On my count; 3… 2… 1… OPEN FIRE!”

The droid unleashed a storm of fire power and obliterated the sec-droid’s front line. Than a flurry of rockets ignited as the droids flew out the windows like bats out of hell. Dusk and PD used the opportunity to slip into the stairwell unnoticed.

They went down another 3 flights of stairs and came on the 57th floor. “Paul’s office is on this floor; expect the most security on this floor.”

Dusk pulled out his sonic screwdriver and began work on the door lock. With a quiet hiss it slid open and the duo walked in. The room was full of cubicles with a door on the right and left on the wall opposite them with an elevator between them. As they moved through, they made it about half way through when the elevator opened. Out stepped something Dusk had only seen the alpha specs for. A single man exited with two droids on either side of him. “Spread out and search every cubical,” The man said, “Kill on site. Those are our orders directly from Mister Zeigerman. Move out Athens!”

“Frak!” Jacen cursed under his breath as he readies his rifles.
