The tunnel story was as follows:
Phase 1:
- OOC:
A platoon of soldiers are heading into the subway system in an attempt to attack behind enemy lines during the daylight hours. Both strike teams are providing assistance. The target is a building in the industrial district used by the enemy to hold an array of generators. There is already in term in place to attack with backup power supply with mortars. This will knock out power to a fair amount of city, including the Ginnetti tower.
The tunnels are extremely dangerous. Thrawnist special forces use them regularly and the enemy has had the advantage below ground for months. Bombers are en route to the city and during bombardment the tunnels are liable to collapse. At the least fragments of tunnel / debris may fall from the ceiling.
The tunnels are completely dark, the trains have not run for months. The enemy may have set up generators to power some sections when required. We haven't scouted this far for weeks. A significant casualty rate is expected.
Make your way to our forward underground checkpoint, study the maps, and head out.
The story hasn't really gone anywhere, so has effectively been failed and we'll move onto the next story.
The HSC as an inter squad competition will end. Instead for the rest of the story we will have an individual competition. There will be significant awards for the top three writers!
Each post must be a min of 250 words and will get a score of between 5 and 10 points based on quality alone.
No double posting!!
Also there are some Reborn Jedi in the story, working for Thrawn. For now assume you won't be meeting any until we tell you otherwise.
A few members of the DJO will be joining you for some writing soon. I'll put up some biographies, but there will be a few rules. In particular don't write about any member of the DJO using any Force abilities they have not written about. Each member of the DJO has particular abilities and this won't be publicised. If a member of the DJO uses the Force to throw objects at your opponents in one post, it would be ok to assume they might be doing something similar in the background of your next post. More details on this to come.
The next phase of the story will be a frantic action piece as we clear out one of the enemy's most fortified positions. For now make your way to the meeting point.
For the rest of the campaign you will all be working as one platoon!
- OOC:
Phase 2:
When night falls we shall send several blacked out LAATs towards the Ginnetti tower. Ground attacks have proved fruitless so we shall be landing teams of special forces on the roof and moving down floor by floor. Any troopers with Shocktrooper or Sapper specialisations will be provided with grenades. Use the darkness and surprise to your advantage. You won't get down many floors before the enemy starts to mount a significant defence. Destroy as many sniper nests and heavy weapons posts as possible and our ground force will attack when it is felt there is a significant chance of success.
If you are outnumbered and have to flee you can escape directly from windows into a LAAT. If you are still in the tower when the attack begins attempt to attack the enemy motorpool directly and capture / destroy as many vehicles as possible.
Taking the tower will secure a significant defensive position on the edge of the city's centre. Even if the tower is not taken the surprise attack should weaken their defences and hopefully their casualty should be significantly higher than our own.
Our LAATs are kept deep in our territory, hidden underneath tents to avoid aerial attack. Make your way their and meet your highly trained pilots.
